She accomplished so much in so little time that her presence in RnB and HipHop during the 2000s just can't be ignored.
The success and cultural impact of foolish alone makes her an essential female act of that decade, in and outside of RnB. Her run may have been short but she clearly had impact. Ashanti literally defines 2000s popular music (before crunk and electropop took over in the mid to late 2000s)

@@artgroupie Not only that, ppl also forget there was a petition for her to not get the Soul Train Aretha Franklin award because they thought she didn't deserve it cause she wasn't a great singer and she was too new of an artist. I like Ashanti personally but she is not the strongest singer, although, she can sing.

The thing I've ways liked about her is she seemed like an underdog but she stayed out of the media drama and always put out good music even though folks were clowning about her singing. She rose above it and I'm so proud of her.
