due to change of all of R160 were sent back to ENY & swap for ENY R179 to 207 St for the C train which included a upcoming R211T entering in the next couple of weeks.
UPDATE:
• 2/20 it has returned (for a single set on the line)
• 3/19 temporary loans for the C has end once M returns to QBL
subscribe for more transit content.

Honestly the R160s are not needed on the C since they have a couple more of R179s and now R211T.
because the C needs its R179s. Even though there currently one 10-Car R211A on the C, it is probably not permanent.
It's a ten car R211T, and it most likely IS permanent
R160 (C) may be gone, but looking on the bright side, it has R211T’s now.

Yeah but the 211T is out of service now nobody knows how long
There's only two if the gangway cars,one is not in service. They are Not reliable and probably not see much service, just like the very unreliable 179s
Update: The C train's 160s are scheduled to be returned to the M within the next 10 days
I was just on it omw to school. Came down at Euclid, and it was just there.

UPDATED: R160 C is return as of 2/20/2024 also channel was made 4 years ago lol.
Look for them to remove the R46 from Pitkin Avenue to Broadway and 6 Avenue B trains

If the R160s were being removed from the (C) line why weren't they moved to Coney Island Yard? I Loved the R160 and R160B (N) (Q) and (W) trains...
Those R160s were from the M line.
They were the cars stored in Jamaica Yard.
Since the M wasn't going to use them for the foreseeable future,it made sense to put the cars where they could be the most use.
I guess the 63rd st Tunnel G.O is about over..

Why is the C not 10 car. Hate having to run to the train when an 8 car set pulls in.
That is a great question. The sea is the only line to have a combination of 480 feet and 600 feet trains. Although in a config of 8 cars, the R46 consists are 600 feet long..

That train car in the J M Z train been used like about 15 years ago I remember the time I was at bmcc and it was ❄️
They were alr. better than the r179s tho.

What is the point of swapping 8 Car R160's on the C Line for 8 Car R179's on the J Line when the R211T's running on the C Line are 10 Car trains?
The R179s from ENY are there to provide 8 min midday service on the C. Guess since they already had the 179 they would just send the R179 in place and send the spare 160s back to eny
Why was the C running 4-car sets?
C train will still continuing using 4 cars set for R179 & 5 car set for R211T
I’m disappointed at MTA why did they discontinue r160 C trains ,they should have instead retired the r46 trains instead

the R-46 Trains are still here because there's obviously not enough of the new fleet to replace them yet, thats why and to be perfectly honest the R-160s really didnt need to be on the C-line anyway i mean im pretty certain thats the main reason why the R-179s were already there in the first place, my personal take on all of this is that even though i grew up with the R-46 fleet and they are in fact my childhood trains and i love the shit outta them, a mixture of R-179s and R-211Ts on the C-line would look better but knowing the MTA, they're gonna do whatever suits their interests versus whatever WE may think.

The c train second yards is 207?
C Train is based out of Pitkin for the Full Length/R46 and R211T & 207 St for the 4-Car R179 .
Which line will they get sent to?
back to the (M) or (J), as that is where they came from.

8-Cars Alstom R160A-1 is going back on the (M) Line and 8-Cars R179's are going on the (J)/(Z) Line's that came from ENY Yard I believe

Boooo. R179s have larger windows. Leave those on the J. The C is 100% underground.
