The last time 8 car R160's operated on the C (and A, in 10 car sets) was back in 2020 when the R179's were pulled out of service for a few months, following one of the couplings breaking.
Definitely a nice throwback. Last time this happened was during the pandemic too, a very hard time for a bunch of people. Now I could finally catch it along with many other buffs 💪
this is possibly one of the most bizzare rides ive ever seen 1. a train signed as a V to canarsie 2. that A train race was actually pretty cool 3. this is on an R160 C train after all
Since the 63rd Street tunnel is getting renovations and M trains are getting cut back to 57th street 6th Avenue until 2024 R160's will run on the (C) line until 2024

That's what is being theorized right now. I don't know for sure but that'll probably be the case.
