Back in August 11th of 2024 the New York Transit Museum have announced there excursion trip in the Rockaways which used a 1930s R1-9 aka mid Arnines we’re was making a addition trip to Far Rockaway via Hammels Wye . Still the (H) even to this day And a nice upgrade from the R46s, summer weather can get brutally hot sometimes
whats going on with the 5? theres so many 142a’s. is it permant fleet swap? or is it just to make up for service
5 train was using R142a from Jerome is because they had do track maintenance at 138 St, so it was a temporary solution for last weekend.

They're in rotation. They use whatever trains to make service and technically its not like the 211 cant run on the H
