@@EMTMILITIA "Cooked" is pretty new as far as slang goes, though I personally don't really consider it brainrot, because even to us oldies it's not too hard to figure out what people mean when they say it.
Middle School English Teacher in the States here: The kids do have a sense of irony when it comes to Brain Rot vocabulary and slang. However, like you mentioned with Joey's dabbing, the more they use it, the more it gets sprinkled into their day to day speech. Moreover, the blurred line of slang vs. meme references is quite prominent. My 8th grade class explore the slang used in The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, and compare it to their slang. A large part of modern slang is more reference influenced. That being said, I still take up the torch of the mid-30's teacher who uses their slang to the point where they cringe. Tbh I gyatt to do it otherwise I'll end up being sent to Ohio, deep within the Skibidi Dimension.
To be fair to Connor's rant about Daidus, the man has recently lost some weight and is in a new country, a country that even skinny westerners sometimes have trouble finding things that fit. I can understand him not being sure what will work and wanting to try on multiple sizes of an item.
@@Lord_Marquaad It was pants that Connor was talking about but either way, that's not a great guage for confidently testing clothes. Something may look like it fits when you hold it up to your body but then you might find something isn't right, such as the sleeve length (especially the way a shirt fits under the armpits) or the inseam of pants. I suppose if you've bought from a brand before and know their sizing, this isn't necessary. Or if the item has some stretch, you could probably get away with not trying it on. For me, I shop only once every five or so years, so I definitely would want to ensure things fit so that I'm not buying thinking I'm the same size as years prior 😅
Regarding the MHA dub, people were complaining but its pretty accurate to camies character. In the japanese she's supposed to speak in very cringe slang and other characters are often seen not understanding her because of it. So while to us, seeing that dub line is cringe, to the japanese, seeing the japanese version is also cringe, its just not cringe to the english speaking audience watching sub because they dont understand the gyaru slang in the first place. Nobody can replace Chester, the soul he brought into the songs he sang is unmatched, especially when the substitute can only scream and roar without rhythm when aiming to do the same songs 😅
After tattooing a lot of teachers a tonne of kids use these words day to day. They’ve also banned some words like “skibidi” and “rizz” cause they’re just sick of hearing it 😂
As a middle/high school teacher, these phrases are 1000% in their vocabulary, but I think even my students would cringe at that. There's just too much going on in that clip
1:24:00 Not a teacher, but a camp counselor for 8-13 year olds (I’m mid-20s Gen Z myself). I really think Garnt has it the most right about how kids use and make up brainrot slang. They absolutely do think they’re using the slang ironically a lot of the time, but enjoy repeating the memes like everyone else does. Plenty of kids would even self-describe as “irony-poisoned”. They might not be able to give a good definition of the term, but they’re definitely mostly aware of its implications.
As someone who works in a secondary school in the uk, yes kids do say those things unironically. It won’t be multiple brain rot words in succession like the clip but definitely every other sentence. It’s the sound bites that annoy me the most cus they will repeatedly sing them over and over again, and because they’re always small parts of a whole song it never sounds satisfying if that makes sense?
Happy Birthday Joey! You hit the big 3 0! I hope you have a fantastic day with your friends! And I hope you celebrated with your family. We love you Joey! ❤

Love them asking if there's ever been a slang word that's gotten to the mainstream with it still being considered "cool". Lol, answered the question themselves without even realizing it.
i work at a high school as a college tutor so i think im close enough to the students in age where they'd feel comftorable speaking in slang, espeicially the ones im particularly close to, and i haven't heard too much brainrot surprisingly, but high schoolers are still zoomres which i think don't really use much brainrot to begin with. i have a friend who works at a middle school and he told me the kids call him mr sigma LOL so its probably worse over there. i hear rizz a lot and gyatt and espeically cooking, but if anyone dares mention skibidi or any terminally brainrot terms, even when used ironically, you'll get the same reaction a college student, or anyone even older than that would react to hearing those terms. what garnt said seemed to be right tho, a lot of slang is used ironically until its intergrated in their normal vocalubarly. wait funny story tho, around april, the freshman at the time had to make a poster for the seniors who were graduating soon and one of the posters i saw was "you gyatt to go to college" and they had to explain to their 40 year old teacher what "gyatt" meant and if it was school appopriate or not and listening to them trying to explain the term to this poor man was so funny. unfortuantely, they explained it as someone having a big ass, so they had to change the poster.

I’m 43. I never really felt old on my 30s. It wasn’t until 41 or 42 when I started to feel kind of old but drinking less and exercising regularly helps a lot. And if possible, avoiding chronic stress.
Uzumaki anime: Peak Cinema 🔥🔥🔥🤚😐🤚
Also Uzumaki anime: It got trash. 🤦🏻♂️
Last time I was this early my gf left me
Smokin heavy with this one
RIP in peace
should’ve been goon maxing
FUCKING REAL
bro
1:43:25 never aged like milk this fast
How did you watch this fassstttt
@@akultyagi2818 he probably skipped an hour and 40 min
Bros watching in 4x 💀
He also talked about this in his latest stream. He had only watched one episode here and they didn't even wait one week for it to age bad.
I didn't even notice most of the boof animation in ep 2 til people started raving online about it. It deff was a drop from episode 1 but i still really enjoyed it, it was really goofy at points but that's how Junji Ito's work is most of the time anyway lets be real 😂 people deff have the right to complain though with it being only 4 episodes, im still hoping the other 2 end things strong
I love how you guys just sit and converse without fighting about anything.....just friends being bros :)
Eyyy, actually spotted a rare Mudan! (click for spoiler)

21:00 That is actually the most Japanese thing you guys have every discussed. I work in tourism and Japanese guests are way more "complain-y" as Joey puts it than most other foreign guests.
21:50 in his case located in Japan with trending anime IP
Might be difference cause by foreign tourist is there to consume anyway, while local can be more conserving
Huh. So they're like Germans
@@ammi5311 I work in Japan, so I meant in japan
THE NONE SLANG WORD FOR ‘’rizz’’ is CHARMINGGGGG. THEY WERE KILLLING ME WITH THAT
It's actually short for charisma.
Cha-rizz-ma
Ohhhh😂😂
@@ALloydRH ohhh😂😂
id say rizz is more about Coolness while charming is more about romance
I'm 30 in 2 weeks, I was really hoping you guys would do a pod on this. I am in solidarity with you Joey!
Same here man, good luck!
That shot of joey looking clueless while the two talk about league is PRICELESS
1:19:26 not only is this real, it's accurate to the manga. No idea how accurate the translation/localization is of that character's dialogue in either form though
Joey turned 30 and the boys are suddenly unable to differentiate Gen Z from Gen Alpha
Hi, person from Munich here! Oktoberfest is typically the last 2 weeks of September with the last weekend being in October. And I can assure you: Most people actually living here LOATHE Oktoberfest and avoid it like the plague (usually in favor of smaller festivals).
Now that Joey is 30 Garnt can properly start converting him into liking incest and isekai
Age got nothing to do with bad taste friend.
Isekai is okay though, the older ones before the phrase was coined were good ,some new ones are okay too.
The Uzumaki bit is so funny after episode 2
Happy Birthday Joey! You hit the big 3 0! I hope you have a fantastic day with your friends! And I hope you celebrated with your family. We love you Joey! ❤
The Camie dub is accurate to her character in Japanese. Her speech is like 90% slang words and phrases.
im 15 and i can easily tell u this that kids clearly mention the words ironically over in my school and the words like sigma skibidi they kind of just dont exist
Now read domestic girlfriend
@@conormurphy4328 i have watched it already💀
went to the opening of NONSENSE in Shibuya with my brother, saw Mudan and Joey and took a pic with them! was such a fun shopping trip, would definitely buy more clothes if given another chance! Also as an introvert it took all of my willpower to keep asking the clerk for sizes since it was so busy at Day 1 (you can imagine the immense anxiety I had asking Joey and Mudan for a pic). Thanks for the pic Joey! Wish you all the success in this venture!
P.S JP Karen had poor taste, Aki shirt is goat (also the Cyberpunk Corpo Jacket)
Let’s goooo welcome to 30s Joey!
lmao on the ad read when promised neverland came up there was an awkward silence with Garnt, don't mention the second season and then Joey breaks it with "classic"
1:43:28 the boys hyped for uzumaki
The bois' famous last words
Elementary music teacher here…definitely had a kid say “very demure” to me yesterday 😂 My kids don’t talk as bad as that clip but they definitely use a lot of brain rot words in their daily conversations. I hear cooking, rizz, slay, skibidi, and Ohio pretty much every day.
as a person actually living in the uk i can confirm it is pretty shit atm. considering alot of the population cannot afford to heat thier own homes
"People don't say 'to google' anymore, and it's worrying Google the company. Think about how it's such a powerful force. ...I'll look it up, I'll look it up."
I would argue that swag is probably what came before rizz, unless there was something in between that I missed.
this is honestly one of my favorite recent vids of theirs
cant believe no one picked up on joey eating the kitkat as a whole bar, not breaking the fingers apart is criminal
Garnt reaction to Moodeng is how all Thai people feel right now. This is our country ambassador and we're so proud.😂❤🇹🇭 Ps. We need a reaction to Moodeng mochi and pudding. So vile.
*UZUMAKI HAS 1 EPISODE JUST LIKE HOW PROMISED NEVERLAND HAS 1 SEASON* 🗿
Trash Taste next special "Murder Mystery Party" with the guests? Great idea for a special, no?
OMG I'd love that!
On the other hand, Google also really didn't want people to Start saying 'google it' refering to other search engines, because a genericized term loses it's trademark.
I heard my nephew say skibidi I stopped what I was doing and said “What the fuck you just say?”
Can't believe Joey doesn't know "Hoozuki no Reitetsu". It's such fun interpretation of japanese mythos.
Just going to leave this here for the boys to read to alleviate future confusion 1:29:35 - 'Rizz' is short for Charisma.
I love the subtle Thriller reference Tokyo Treat did on that poem.
We need Moo Deng as special guest
1:13:32 oh boy, I hate SO much that "sound like old Linkin Park" argument lol people who say that 90% of the time are talking about the Meteora/Hybrid Theory, ignoring how much they would try out new things and the amount of shit they got for it even when Chester was still around.
Tho I do agree they should've start over with a new name, just like Dave did with FF.
Joey lookin like a Bollywood star in the thumbnail
1:11:33 mudan did him dirty there, felt like watching an third wheel in a conversation between two other friends and feeling so out of place
people obsess about age way too much. it actually makes people have worse lives because they think "oh, I'm this age now, I can't enjoy this stuff I like and I have to dress like a tool" when actually you could just...go on living your life and enjoying it to the fullest. obviously changes if you have kids or a family or w/e but people take it way too far in terms of self-censoring
Happy late birthday Joey. Hope you had a great day with family and friends. Entering 30 already being big on social media for years and having a big developed brand in your t-shirt company as well as the psychical stores you were able to open recently is something to celebrate as well. Happy late birthday again and congrats on your successes.
That murder mystery party sounds amazing. Enhanced by 30 brits trying to sound American 😂
Love them asking if there's ever been a slang word that's gotten to the mainstream with it still being considered "cool". Lol, answered the question themselves without even realizing it.
They done my boi Joey dirty with that thumbnail 💀
Joey is gonna look back at the highlights of his 30th birthday, and 1 of them will be about a baby hippo.
Garnt may have spoken a bit too early about the uzumaki anime praise...
Hats off to the Tokyo Treat people for the Thriller rewrite for their ad 😂
The Uzumaki conversation really aged well after episode 2
i work at a high school as a college tutor so i think im close enough to the students in age where they'd feel comftorable speaking in slang, espeicially the ones im particularly close to, and i haven't heard too much brainrot surprisingly, but high schoolers are still zoomres which i think don't really use much brainrot to begin with. i have a friend who works at a middle school and he told me the kids call him mr sigma LOL so its probably worse over there. i hear rizz a lot and gyatt and espeically cooking, but if anyone dares mention skibidi or any terminally brainrot terms, even when used ironically, you'll get the same reaction a college student, or anyone even older than that would react to hearing those terms. what garnt said seemed to be right tho, a lot of slang is used ironically until its intergrated in their normal vocalubarly.
wait funny story tho, around april, the freshman at the time had to make a poster for the seniors who were graduating soon and one of the posters i saw was "you gyatt to go to college" and they had to explain to their 40 year old teacher what "gyatt" meant and if it was school appopriate or not and listening to them trying to explain the term to this poor man was so funny. unfortuantely, they explained it as someone having a big ass, so they had to change the poster.
They definitely could have explained it better to that poor man lmao
Sounds like Garnt would really get into a game of Call of Cthulhu.
31:00 the way connor tilts his head as grant says promised neverland, i can't lmao
That Uzumaki take hasn't aged so well.
When I started watching Trash Taste I was fresh out of Primary School and was starting the first grade of High School and now I'm attending my first year of Uni 😅
The video just dropped and that Uzumaki segment has already aged horribly
16:18 this is like the culmination of a saga that happened like a decade (or whatever Joey and Garnt started being friends) ago
26:00 nah, i feel Daidus on that
Pants are terrible with sizes because i accidently grabbed 2 of the same size and one was cut wrong so both fit different i was so confused.
And shirts I know Im usually an XL in mens tshirts because my chest
But then again some XL's are big and some XL's in slim fit clothing can be a nightmare guessing game where I'll ocassionally have to get much larger
And some brands that say XL itll fit like a small like wth
Thailand's biggest soft power is their BL/GL series. Moo Deng is awesome, but their queer shows industry is insanely massive.
Every guy friendship revolves around one question: "wait when's your birthday?"
1:44:48
Garnt : Maybe I'll take a sip
Also Garnt : Nope
Joey has never talked more bullshit than when he went on about 4 bits lmao
Lmao I was expecting something that looks like it should be on the Atari. Then the image popped up
Well he was probably right. 4 bit color is 16 colors, which is what it looked like.
It's been a while since I watched a trash taste episode, but 5 seconds in and im already wheezing
Congrats Joey!!

Regarding the shoes, my life got so much easier once I finally got down and measured my foot size in centimeters and then just looked for shoes that have the size conversion chart with cm sizes mapped to whatever numbers they are using. After that its just the width that is the questionable part, but I typically go for shoes with wide toe box so I don't have to worry about it.
fun fact: the length from your wrist to your elbow is the same size as your feet
1:21:02 YES.
You hear people say "On god" or "no cap"
I love ur profile pic! 😊❤🎉 God bless ya ^^
1:20:00 This defiantly a case of an "hello my fellow kids" unless they are joking, no one would say it all back to back like that. I would agree that maybe like half of it would find its way into normal conversation
as a zoomer, irony most definitely exists amongst gen z
they said kids, gen z aren't kids anymore
