Having heard nearly every soprano sing this aria on YT, in Live performance, as well as on CD, I must say that Lynne Dawson's performance excels. Her voice is both naturally sweet & beautiful, so v limpid, her legato launches into phrases to die for, her technique fully supported, her vocal placement perfect (in the mask), her interpretation fulfilling, uncannily moving & her diction exemplary. Brava!
I was blown way by the combination of her voice and appearance in Thirsk Church many years ago when she was in the early stages of her career singing in Mozart's C minor Mass.. A wonderfully gifted and intelligent singer.
I thought it was the performance in the Netherlands. I have the DVD & it says this. If you are sure this hails from Cambridge (I have that cd also (no DVD)... it is considered the best accoustically.

This is one of my favorite choruses in Händel’s Messiah. In this performance, the voice of the soprano is fantastic and the accompanying music crystal-clear. It’s truly a listening and visual enjoyment. A+

He is a young Steven Cleobury who directed the Choir of Kings College Cambridge for many years and featured in the the Carols from Kings for years He retired a year or two ago and sadly died soon after.

I didn't understand what the name is of the air the choir sings at the end, but it is certainly also lovely. Handel is always superb!
