Read, 44, of Mansfield, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and other charges. The prosecution says she hit O'Keefe with her black SUV outside of a home at 34 Fairview Road in Canton during a snowstorm on Jan. 29, 2022, following a night of drinking. Her defense plan argue that someone else is responsible for killing O'Keefe.

All of you who claim she’s guilty af are WRONG. The science and physics do NOT line up with a vehicular hit. That alone is evidence enough to render a not guilty verdict, even if you don’t buy into the cover up story or corruption. Please look into the physics before you run to snap judgements over her conduct. She may just be an abrasive/bitchy person. That’s not a frigging crime.

Im offended that the prosecutors had these expert witnesses and didn’t use them because they didn’t fit their narrative of the “found” taillights. This is the continuation of a culture in Boston pd and obviously the state too, where certain people get a pass. This culture of grifters in suits and uniforms that let the Alberts slide. They are so used to getting their way and getting away with their crimes, Karen is their current mark.

A couple of corrections. She did not back into her own car. She backed into John O’Keefe’s vehicle with her vehicle. Also, the reason that she canvassed the neighborhood is the following. She contacted two of her “friends”. One who was at the party and told them John was not home. She asked if they would go with her to look for John. Jenn McCabe, one of the “Friends” that she called suggested that they do this “canvassing” of the neighborhood, before going to the party house. Jenn told her to come to her house and then once Karen got there, said let’s first go back to John’s house (where she just came from) to look further for him there. Jenn McCabe was the one who encouraged her to go on this wild goose chase looking for him. There are theories about why Jenn did this, which is another story. (In short, the theory is that Jenn was heavily involved in the cover up).

@jackiek412 - Can't agree more with your comment. You know, although people can hide stuff, and do things in the dark, blame other people for what they did, hoping to get away with whatever they did. They sometimes actually succeed. But they must also remember, everything they did in the dark, all the evil plans they made behind closed doors, as secretive as they thought they could be, GOD WAS THE SILENT WITNESS , so hide, lie, conspire, all you want, HE KNOWS WHAT YOU DID, there is no hiding from HIM

    • @kristenl.8293

I believe they’re all covering for Colin. Karen is innocent. How can Allie McCabe testify “Colin was not there when John was there”? That implies John was in fact there. Its the Canton good ole boys club. I grew up not far from there, have family there, this is a complete coverup. I think Jen was banking on Karen’s drunkenness and gaslit her into thinking she could have done it. And Jen’s Google search at 2:37 AM “how long to die in the cold” …he wasn’t found until four hours later. I don’t buy that an open tab could’ve kept the search time on that when she googled it again around 6:30am and spelling it wrong. It’s really interesting reading all the different takes on the trial, I just don’t believe she did this.

  • @madreep

I have watched every day of this trial and did not read or watch any pretrial things or news reports, and while I think her body language and facial expressions are weird, I'm wondering where the actual evidence is that shows that she committed a crime, either on purpose or by accident. I can't get over the amount of misconduct and obvious bias from the other people who could have been involved and every agency that conducted the investigation. There is so much wrong there I don't see how a conviction would be upheld on appeal. If she's actually convicted, and that's a big if.

After watching the whole trial so far, I think Chase is spot on. To me the thing that points to her innocence the most is that she said so many things the morning she found him that nobody would ever say if they actually hit him with the car. She kept asking if she could have hit him, she willingly told the paramedics that she had been drinking the night before and that they had had a fight that night. Her behavior that morning was of someone who was freaking out and said too much without worrying about being charged with murder.

It’s a simple no-brainer! She dropped her bf on and he never came home. She called manipulator Jenn McCarbe who said he never came in then, suggested she was too drunk to drive. Bam, Karen’s spinning hungover mind is trying to make sense out of the non-sensical. Then add creepy Jenn’s gas-lighting mental feed leading her around town looking for him. They can’t even prove she was DUI because the tab doesn’t add up to the amount of drinks they were counting, know what was in those shot glasses or even know if she went home and had a few more when she went home upset that John was not returning her calls. I don’t know a woman who wouldn’t be ticked-off if their significant other chose to go to a house party with their cronies rather than coming home with them after a night out.

Karen’s personality and mannerisms come across as classic Massachusetts. Assertive, intense, loud, etc. Mark pointed out her negative phrasing, “hard pressed to find anyone that didn’t care for John.” I think this is also pretty common in this region. According to the trooper who did the accident recreation and took the stand said, "She was traveling at a speed of up to 24mph in reverse, the back side of the suv struck his arm, then spun him around and catapulted him 30ft". This is impossible. All of his injuries were from the neck up with the exception of his arm. No bruises to the ribs, stomach, legs, back, etc. The first thing the emt said when they arrived was, "it looks like he's been beat up". This is the worst corruption case I have ever seen. Not to mention the Albert's dug up their basement, got rid of the dog they had for over 4years and sold their house for 50k less than market price (after digging up concrete in basement). Brian Albert and Brian Higgins got rid of their cell phones the day before they were told to turn them over to the Feds. Everything I have mentioned is fact and been testified to.

So many things from watching the trial.
    1. The last place she looked was where she dropped him off. Of course, because that's where she found him, so she stopped looking.
    2. She mentioned the tailight lenses because the state said she hit him and they found over 40 pieces of tailight for weeks. Others say she cracked the lens backing up her car into John's, and there was a small piece missing. The pieces showed up only after the state seized her car.
    3. She jumped on the fact she saw him right away because Jenn McCabe said she saw him right away because she knew where she hit him, but she just looked in the general area she dropped him off.
    4. The state says pieces of glass were on her back bumper. But they were there after 100 miles of adfitional driving and being towed in a windy blizzard by the police. The state implies it was glass shards from hitting John while he was holding a glass in his hand. But guess what, when they were tested, they didn't match John's glass.
    5. Everyone who saw her that night said she was not slurring words or stumbling.
    6. She called John over 60 times that night. And called John's parents. The state would say that was a cover, an alibi. But to do that, she wouldn't have to call so much, 10 or 12 calls would suffice.
I think she is high strung, maybe even opinionated and demanding, that doesn't make her guilty. But that could be why she goes over the top calling him. Maybe the other women didn't like her for that and the fact she had her own money.

The Trooper testifying today said John and Karen arrived at 34 Fairview at 12:24. He also said her phone connected to John's home WiFi at 12:36, therefore she was home.
That sure seems to support Karen's claims here and it's also a huge problem for Lally because he claimed she hit him at 12:45, and Jen McCabe and others in the house testified to seeing Karen's SUV outside around 12:42 or so.
Whoops... and this cop has been one of the most credible seeming ones Lally called in, and by far.
Anyway, what Greg was talking about what he would ask if someone said that. He's always talking from the pov of an interrogator. "I didn't notice" wouldn't necessarily be a wrong answer, but he'd use that to ask further questions.

Mark, she cracked her taillight at exactly 5:07am in Jan 29, on the right side of John's driveway, by backing into his car. She did it because she was frantic about to go out in a storm looking for her missing boyfriend. And it's in camera.
