Really good! I also agree that Furigana would be useful when kanji are used (still getting to grips with them!), but really looking forward to seeing more like this. Very useful seeing vocab used in context like this

I’m two years late, but it still needs to be said that this is by far the best format that I came across to study alongside Genki. Can’t wait to progress in the lessons and come back here to review the content.

This is legit what I need to boost my Genki course. Just started in college and I’ll be sure to share it with everyone I can!

Perfect format! My only suggestions would be to hold the answer screen just a little bit longer and maybe include furigana when needed.
I’m looking forward to many more videos in this series!

@@GameGengo awesome! Even just 1-2 more seconds should be enough, it doesn’t have to be much longer than that. Thank you Matt!

Good quality as always, I do agree with the other comment about possibly another second or two being helpful on the answer part

Thanks for putting these videos out, man. Learning like this is way easier and more interesting than just reading and doing exercises. The examples are super helpful, and i can actually listen to the expression in a practical context.

Great stuff. Thank you. Here is my suggestion, which is obviously just my personal preference. I think it would be better to leave the words up for about 10-12 seconds while we try to read them, and only afterwards add the people saying them, because once I hear them say the words, I stop reading, mainly because I no longer think I'm reading but matching the sounds I just heard to the symbols on the screen. After the people say them, I don't think more than 5 seconds is required to process the meaning. Either you know it or you don't, so leaving more than 5 seconds for people to determine the meaning is pointless, as you're testing immediate recognition. I disagree with people who want furigana, especially on common kanji. They should learn common kanji by seeing them in words and recognizing them in those words, thereby learning one reading of the kanji (as it applies to that particular word). Reserve furigana for uncommon kanji. And, no, kanji isn't "uncommon" just because you're new to kanji.

I think 失礼 might better be translated as "pardon me" since it sounds like you're apologizing for intruding

Thank you for this! I’m working on it, it’s hard for me to learn the longer phrases (like ‘I hope we get along well’) but this and your other video help a lot!
