- First time going out to specifically practice Slalom, and I had a great time. It feel very rewarding to see my balance get better and to feel more and more comfortable on one wheel.

I love how you spoke about the differences in boots. I was talking to a fellow skater after my session today about how much better your skate experience becomes with certain type of gear.
I’ve never tried single toe or manuals or whatever. I’ve done double toe - although my skates start to shake/vibrate uncontrollably when doing double toe downhill, not sure how to fix that
@@MrStrikemasterice even with my nice boots when I’m moving too fast on both my toes my left foot will get the wobbles every time, and I don’t know how to fix it either 😂
Nice to meet you. I subscribed to your channel.
It's amazing that you can skate on one foot.
I can't do it yet because my leg muscles and balance are not good, but I would like to be able to skate for long distances on one foot someday.
Thank you for showing your training and trials.
Hello Yukiyo! Your legs will get stronger quickly if you keep practicing, I like to balance barefoot on the balls of my feet, on foot at a time and try to stay balanced for 60 seconds or as long as I can. It's surprisingly difficult, but it'll help build those surrounding muscles and help train overall balance. You're channel is awesome by the way, I have a lot of respect for anyone who is willing to share their hobbies with the world.
@@SolidSkates Thank you for watching my channel! And I couldn't even stand on one leg on my toes. Your training method seems to be very helpful in building my leg muscles. Thank you for sharing this tip!☺️🙏🏻✨
And I have a lot of hobbies, so I'm very happy to hear you say that. Watching your inline skating video will also help me stay motivated and practice harder💪🏻😁✨
Nice work man! How long have you been skating?
2.5 years, thanks man!
I love your channel 😭💘 i want to start figure skating with normal inline skates but i dont know how should i start without a coach😭
@@sara-cy3zo it’s so incredibly hard. No coach and the wrong type of skates is such a tough combo. It’s a frustrating process for sure, but you can definitely do it. It’ll just be that much more impressive. And thank you!!
Toe manuals are fun on quads but I can only do them for a split second on my inlines. Though I have k2 inlines so they’re not the most supportive for that type of skating. The buckle thing pops loose when I put too much weight on it. I’d love to hear you talk in a video about all your different kinds of skates I didn’t know there was so many kinds of boot
Yes, it makes a huge difference. I had a recreation pair of k2 skates probably similar to yours and the support just isn’t there. It makes a huge difference and you won’t notice until you try some other ones on. I was totally oblivious what a high quality soft boot felt like after switching from cheap soft boot to a nice hard boot. Now I highly prefer soft boot.
What’s your filming set up please? When I started skating last year, I said I’d try to record myself a lot to be able to see my progress but I barely do so 🥲
@@MrStrikemasterice I use a Sony A7R5 which is total overkill because I’m a price photographer, and I use a 50mm f 1.8 lens for the thumbnail and sometimes for video, but a lot of the video is shot with a 12-24 mm wide angle lens. The camera quality doesn’t matter very much for filming yourself. But having a wide angle lens is super useful when you’re by yourself because it captures such a wide area.
I suggest looking up wizard skating. That and figure skating is what I based my skating style on
@@chad1526 I love figure skating! And I plan on getting a longer wizard frame eventually, it’s on the endless list of gear I want 😪
I think you would like wizard skating. Longer frames such as NN, Rokin, Endless 5x80 or Endless ARC are nice things. They give you more stability on Wheelies/Manuals/Wheelings (We call them "Presses"). Also learn the grapevine (Watch Naomi Griggs) and the Crazy (Watch from Tiago), or "Mabrouk" (there is a video with an asian girl that does them lovely) which are variations of a very cool move. BTW: I think you need to be able to hold a wheeling indefinitely before you even attempt slalom or changing direction. Also, I don't love them, they're treacherous and is easy to slam.
Thanks man, I’ll give them a watch, Tiago is great at explaining stuff. And I’m gonna get a wizard frame eventually, it’s on the list right after some actual in-line figure skates
@@SolidSkates Actual in-line figure skates are not attractive to me, mainly because of their looks and also the wheels are small and slow. Actually, somebody should design a way to put a toe stop in the front wheel place on normal frames. I would give it a try with a 4x80 setup.
I’ve been trying to think of some type of urban figure skates like that but i don’t think it’ll work out 😭
