Very beautiful, the act of letting the bird go is letting go to her unborn baby. Just like a baby, she created the bird, and though nurtured, it is weak to the "real world", so she lets them go to a better world ;-;
In 1998, I was driving down a very winding street, through what I recall was a forest. It was a very rainy night, every drop making a loud thump on the hood of my car, and one of my headlights had gone out, irresponsible, I know. I had turned one of the many corners of the street when I saw a dim orange glow and in front of it a silhouette of something clearly not human. I would guess it to be about 3 and a half feet tall, with two legs, but it possessed no arms. Despite it's lack of arms, I saw in its grasp a knife, dripping with what I can only presume to be blood of someone or something. I looked to the dim glow producing the silhouette, and I saw flames. The flaming structure looked to be something not produced by any earthly being, it looked like a space ship, like one you might see in a movie, presumably the vessel with which it crashed down into the Earth. I looked to the creature once more, and in the dim glow, I made it out to be red like that of a cherry. As I had begun to stop to stare at the thing which stood there, it stepped toward me. The instant I saw the thing make its way toward me I slammed on the gas pedal with every fibre of my being. As I had sped forwards, I took one last glance, and in that glance, I saw it change. What once before was a small rounded creature was now the spitting image of a deer. I stared at the creature for not a second more before I set my wide-eyed gaze onto the road in front of me, determined to not let the thing catch me. I know not what else these things are capable of, and I know not how many there are on this Earth, but I pray these things, these impostors which reside among us do not summon what ever thing that produced them to bring upon us our destruction.
Bref, j'adore ! Merci
This is beautiful. A women who suffered from a miscarriage, and a mystical bird came to life as the spirit almost of the child who had died, and she got to take care of that majestic bird, and she learned to let go even if it hurts to. This is so beautiful ESMA, it’s so heartwarming and touching I almost cried, this is beautiful and amazing ESMA. keep up the amazing work
I think it's wonderful that ESMA made story of misfortune in like a real life. We all don't get everything we want and it's actually better that way. Not saying the woman in the movie shouldn't have gotten a child, but it really shows that all is not lost. Not sure if anyone understands...
I myself had lost a child before birth. The pain NEVER goes away...It is always there. It is NEVER better to lose a child. I blame myself every day. Yes, I know that my baby is Heaven, but that does not make the loss any easier to deal with. You just never forget...never...never...never...ever............:( :( :( :(
@@melodyofpsalm9468 It's okay...take time...take sometime about it. We all have things we feel sad. But it will be fine. Don't blame yourself when deep down you didn't even plan to do such things. Is all right to feel sad. Take time to breath. You'll be all right.
I probably got this wrong, but here's my interpretation: As seen from the pictures in the beginning, she had a happy life as she had a seemingly loving husband and a baby to look forward to in the future. Although, we see the letters that could either indicate that her art was rejected (seeing as she was a passionate artist and had a little ticket [or something] for an art expo) or that her husband left for a reason, leaving her all alone with no one to share her life with. Furthermore, the empty baby crib illustrates that she had a miscarriage and lost her last source of possible joy. Hearing the children's laughter from outside saddens her as it only made her remember the baby she never had. However, one day, a spark of hope ignited as the bird illustration urges the woman to paint a beautiful scenery on the white wall. Notice that the crib was also white. White represents her loneliness and how empty she feels when she remembers the pain of loss from both her spouse and her baby. The bird guides her and encourages her to keep painting a wall. She accidentally gets paint all over the crib and she gets a strike of realization that her baby was no longer with her, showering her with sadness. The bird sees this but could not do anything until it grew because the pain was still too much for the woman to handle. As a result of her continuation of the painting, we can quite obviously see a deduction of the white hue--the difficult reality. Slowly, she gets over some of the hardships she faced, but still remembers the truth. Noticing this, the bird makes an effort to go to her side of the wall no matter the consequences. In the end, the bird (which we can now assume as a symbol for her baby) erases the paint from the crib as it knows that it would only bring her mother sadness if she continued to dwell on the past.) The bird looked weak and tired when it went to her side of the wall, which connects to her own emotions because it is so difficult for her to let go of her past. She soon finds out that the painted side of the wall had laughter, indicating that she managed to create that joy that was so clearly absent from her. Finally, for both her sake and the bird's, she decides to put the bird back where it belonged because she knew that holding on to the bird would only mean holding on to the burden that her poor heart had to keep. The bird hesitates, thinking that the woman still needed it's presence and company, but the woman finally ushers it on and lets go of both the bird and her pain, thus the title "Farewell." In the end, she finally sees her potential through her painting, which could indicate that she has moved on from the two letter theories stated before (either the pain of her husband leaving or the pain if rejection...or maybe even both.) She is finally able to move on. HOWEVER, analyzing from the end credits, this could be entirely wrong and could be interpreted as follows: her husband and baby could have left her, leaving the baby crib empty and leaving her all alone. At the end, however, she learns to let it go and finds out that she was pregnant again, giving her the motivation to keep doing what made her happy (painting) and even illustrating the bird as the sign of hope on the crib. She will soon be able to experience joy once more.
I mostly agree, except she either had a miscarriage or the infant died very soon after. Husband is gone. French culture. Fortune or God helps her with an alternate activity to help her say goodby.
I think, after this very explanation, in place of "painting", you could put the term "creating", cause by means of painting, the woman could "create life", baby of her own, or her "creation"
Amazing the way they manage to turn a 2D bird on a wall into a living, unique creature that not only looks 3D but is actually DRAWN 3D like if that makes sense. Amazing work I love it ❤️❤️❤️
