Oh man, if I had that jet I would add black fur to the ceiling and leopard upholstery and then spray paint the outside purple metallic. And I would name it Pimp Jet.
A few years back, it was said that anyone who purchases a jet aircraft in this price category, plan on figuring annual costs of approximately $1 million toward fixed expenses, such as insurance, hanger fees, general maintenance, etc., whether the aircraft is flown or not! Let's fill those Piggy Banks! Thanks for such a great video.
I installed the airplane paint booth in Honda Jets Research Facility in Greenville and got to see it flying as a prototype. Nice to see it like this. Love your videos.
Emphasis on DREAM ! Mike talks as it 5 MILLION DOLLAR IS NOTHING ! Love the little Honda jet aircraft but it is an aircraft at Five million dollars most if not all people on this sight will NEVER be able to afford !
Love the review Mike! I worked for Honda back in the 2000s and there was a picture of the Honda Jet in a lot their literature. The reason for that was to show that they were not only the largest engine manufacturer in the world but also that they made engines for every possible application; from automotive and marine engines to small engines and aircraft engines. Ever since, I have wanted to see a video on this aircraft, thank you!
A few months ago there were 2 of these beautiful birds here in HAWAII....they did a story about them and what they were going to use them for... don't remember what is was .....but as of this day....we haven't seen them anymore....but BEAUTIFUL they are....
My “win the lottery” dream plane... Mike, I have a feeling that if you’re various business ventures continue to grow... this is your plane! Great tour and intro... thank you!
Even with the cash you still wouldn't be able to fly it on your own. There isn't an insurance company on the planet that would let you get anywhere near the left seat with low hours.
This is so beautiful for a small aircraft, I like the small toilet where you can relieve yourself up in the skies when nature calls! I would love to own this beauty, wow!
It has a big, easily accessible baggage area. It has a separate toilet with a solid door (not a curtain). The toilet is externally serviced, not a "camp" chemical toilet. You can buy it with a galley insert instead of the fifth seat (the one facing the door). It's fairly pacey and it gets above the airline traffic for direct routing. The number of seats puts it into the light jet category, but it is really a competitor for midsize jets, if you travel midsize but with only two or three people on board (which happens a lot) you don't have to pay for those empty seats and can have pretty equivalent comfort for a lot less cash. The only reason to buy another jet in the light category is that you can generally buy the competitors second hand, and thus pay the much lower depreciated cost instead of the new cost.
I can also appreciate your enthusiasm for this cool jet. Since the first generation was unveiled about 6 years ago, I've always wanted to see one up close, too.
Thanks for covering Mike. I have been looking at one of these for family use versus continuing on as a. jet card customer. There is an "executive version" of this that replaces that entry seat with a galley which for our use would be nice to have. The sound system is pretty unique inside the cabin too, a series of sound transducers imbedded inside the walls.
Great video and I'm glad you got to experience the Honda Jet Mike. In 2008 I flew to Wisconsin to go to Oshkosh to see it at EAA Airventure 2008 for its first public viewing and was able to go inside and see it up close. Coincidentally it was the first showing of the Icon A5 which was my first time being made aware of that aircraft. I'm looking forward to seeing your flight video of this bird.
saw my first Honda jet at Oshkosh back in, maybe 2006-7. They did a demo flyover. I was stunned. It was dead quiet... just a bit of a whir in the air. Awesome engineering.
Mike, this is Rance here. I share your enthusiasm for this Honda Jet. I am not a pilot so I can really anticipate the fun and satisfaction of being in the left seat as you can. I can feel your excitement in your dialogue. Hope you can fly it sooner than later!
Hey MOJO I don't just wish that you fly one like this bird, but I wish that you own one someday. You know you will. Believe it. Wish you lots of success my friend. I wish I were 20 years younger. I would propose a business partnership.

By far the coolest and most efficient light jet on the market. I have had 3 Honda motorcycles and 3 Honda cars. Amyone wish to start my, "Things come in 3's ' with the first Honda Jet?
Hi. Love the videos. There was an aircraft back in the 1970s/80 that engines mounted on the wings. So the Honda jet is not as unique as some people think. It was a German/Dutch project (German company bought Dutch company Fokker) - VFW-614. It looked like an Airbus 319 so was an airliner, with about 40 passenger seats. It was officially retired in 2012. Now in a museum in Germany.
@@truthseeking3818 I think what Paul may be referring to is Mike mentioning that he was going to be flying in the jet a bit later. It's reasonable to assume that Mike may have done a video of that flight. No need for you to make a malicious comment.
@@truthseeking3818 He would need a type rating for the plane to fly it by himself, but anyone can fly as second in command for just general operations even if he is a newer pilot without the rating. Getting a type rating is attainable for pretty much anyone, especially him. It's not about the pilot letting him do anything, or him having the experience. I.m not trying to be rude, but you also probably do not know specifically what his experience level is. I know of 18-year-olds who have jobs flying jets like these after getting a minimum of hours of experience, a commercial licence and a type rating. This came only a year or so after their first solo.
