I built this jet when I worked for honda. This is S/N 00023. I worked all the fuselage NDT discrepancies at the factory and there was alot of them...this was beginning of the program and the 12th off the line.
Got my first look at the Honda Jet (N420HA) bluw/white in 2006 at EAA. Fell in love. Always been a dream to fly in one. Now that I'm retired, this video is the next best thing. Thank you, gentlemen.
Completely agree on your discussion regarding barriers to entry in the aviation industry. My personal experience is that private aviation training is prohibitively expensive. When I got my PPL, it was completely self-funded. Going into my instrument training was really an eye opener as the complexity and mastery of flying is just so much expensive that it was difficult to justify. Not to mention type ratings for different aircraft. In my experience, flight training in general was vastly more complicated than I had ever anticipated. However, the mastery of the craft is so rewarding that its hard to imagine my life before being a pilot. If we need more pilots, we need to make the barrier to entry dramatically cheaper. The government subsidizes so many other silly things, I think pilot training should be something that our government should readily assist those who want to take advantage of pilot training. Folks who want to learn to fly should be able to do it without the prerequisite being multi-millionaires.
Yup! Even down to the maintenance side just like they said. All companies these days complain about labor shortages yet NOBODY is willing to train from the ground up anymore. They expect you to pay tens/hundreds of thousands out of pocket for putting yourself through various schools. WHEREAS back when my boomer dad was young and worked at an airfield as a summer job in between college semesters (made good money too), they would take any knucklehead off the streets that showed any interest/aptitude and TRAIN THEM! Guess what? No labor shortages back then like we have now!!! DOY!!!
I got all my ratings in the late 80's. Cost was about $35K. Substantially lower than today but compensation has changed drastically. I spent 2 1/2 years as a flight instructor for $1,400 a month. Then at the regionals for 5 years flying turboprops for $2,000 a month. Training costs now are in the neighborhhood of $100K. Now as soon as you get your ATP a regional will hire you with a signing bonus, put you in a jet and pay you $75K+ a year. It can be done.
I'm scared of flying (haven't been on a commercial jet for over 15 years) but something draws me to this aircraft. The quality is soothing to my nerves.
Mojo!, I caught your channel at the beginning and fell off, cause I’m plus-60. Your style is as special as when I first tied into your aviator passion. Wow! - I’ll be back.
Cool! The aviation grade ceramic paint polish alone, is a value worth over $39,999.99 It took 3 professional Mexicali auto detailers a full day to apply. But, it is guaranteed to last 5 years… as long as NVE is 250 knots. 😊
What about its operation costs . Its expensive . And the jet is five million dollars . I love the cirrus vision jet and I love the idea of the safety systems .
While you were talking about the engine maintenance program, EMC2, (at 9:25 in the video) an aircraft can be seen out of the front windscreen flying substantially higher than the Honda Jet. All you can see is the contrail. The reason I am asking is because you were at FL410 and the aircraft visible through the windscreen had to be at FL550 to FL600. That is very high for an aircraft to be flying and must be military as no commercial or GA aircraft can reach that altitude. Did you see this aircraft and do you know what it was?
Actually they weren't yet level at FL410. 10:04 and look to the PFD you can see they're just about crossing through FL350 in the climb. So that was probably just some other jet crossing in the upper 30s.
It’s also structural efficiency. The wings are already strong, so putting engines on them is a bit easier than suspending them at the back. But long range Jets seem to benefit from aerodynamics having them at the back.
Because of your videos (and others too!) and MSFS I go for my Discovery flight on the 27th! I am 2nd generation for the family business so I'm not looking to make a carrear out of flying but I do want to someday fly my family to vacation destinations.
My dad is a honda dealer and all dealers were offered first dibs on the first production honda jets for 1.5 million my dad highly regrets not buying it especially now that he could of sold it for 4 million
I've seen one at the Afton WY airstrip, and it was so damn cool looking it made even this fat tired off airport landing slow mover pilot want one! I've never had that feeling around other small jets, maybe it's the Honda name, for starters.
Hey buddy, awesome flight. The PC-24 is another nice one. And what were the engine temps at 410 flight level? Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Cost is the Biggest. Obstacle for anyone interested in becoming a commercial pilot. In my 20s i tried to find fundung but had no luck. I stuck to my uni and graduated. Over the years I have met some who had enough money for fligh school. Got Their commercial license, but ran out of funding to get the 1500hrs to get a decent job. They quit the Profession. It was better back when every country had 1 national airline. They would fund your training and in return you had to work for a number of years after getting ur licence.
flight sim guy: cost is number 1 for sure, I was so willing to go through with it. But just being diagnosed with mental health issues as simple as anxiety which we almost all deal with and just admitting to it, has disqualified me. It's wild.

Im just getting into Aviation, could you elaborate some more?

That's next-level mentanance program. One of the safest jets in the skies.

Yyyyep..."General Aviation". Generally cant afford
Well said and absolutely correct!! :)

Hear hear!!!
I have a Honda …..Civic
I Have honda wave 110i
Me too, it's the best car I've ever owned. I bet those jets are just as dependable.
This is one Honda you don’t have to worry about getting stolen.
They are almost the same thing.
We knw😂
You can't beat a Honda.
Fabulous piece of engineering.
Engineering is so dependable.... way before the jet.
Its looks ugly compare with Golfstream. Japanese have lover esthetic skills.
Great stampings but bad artists.
@@3falexchina not competing what so ever with the Gulfstream.

Honda is boss...quality
WOW. The Honda Jet just seems like a breeze to fly. Great video.
There are few sounds as soothing as, "something, something, N682TM." Thanks for sharing this flight with us.
I'm scared of flying (haven't been on a commercial jet for over 15 years) but something draws me to this aircraft. The quality is soothing to my nerves.
I have flown heaps and still weird for me, as you have been told it's way safer than a car. Book a holiday life is short 🎉
I really like the Honda jet it’s perfect for state to state travel
I have a Honda too...but it doesn't have wings.
*GOTA HAV* *CATER*
Hitting Vtec in the air must be crazy 😂
Best Jet on the market!❤

proud of you mojogrip... you went where some of us wish to go
Blue Maxx should've responded to MInneapolis with "Smash that like button"
BEAUTIFUL AIRCRAFT
My home airport KMGN! I usually see this jet parked just outside my hanger.
Beautiful plane and flight. 41k is outstanding. 😎
I like Mike and all of his awesome aviation videos.

Hah. Yep @avianaaircraft did a full paint correction and ceramic coating on N682TM. Makes a huge difference.
@@bluemaxsix Oops my error, but the stats state “upgrade ceramic paint coating”.
You sound sleepy. You should take broadcast voice lessons.
Hey man, what was stopping you from saying 40k?

I think Honda is basically the most amazing company the world has ever seen.

I am amazed at the engine mounting on the wings, rather than the fuselage. I wonder what reasons led to it, but surely looks nice and different.
I think it is noise, vibration, efficiency, etc... Unique design though!

That Honda Jet is sooooo cool
How far can this plane can travel
Beginning at 9:40, there are some interesting points of light that appear to flash and streak
Non pilot but i sure do love the culture, love anything Honda..
Great video. 43,000 feet? Nice. So, is Earth round or flat?
The data they monitor is the ECTM. Engine condition trend monitoring. It’s a download and you send that. All jets do that.
How long can the aircraft stay in the air with a full tank?
My dad is a honda dealer and all dealers were offered first dibs on the first production honda jets for 1.5 million my dad highly regrets not buying it especially now that he could of sold it for 4 million
Flying out to Vegas anytime soon?
That thing looks gorgeous.
Taking off is always so exciting. It looks like a blast here. Merry Xmas Mojo 🎄
Wow.. data monitor seems 😍
Beautiful! But its a bit small. Whats the smallest jet that a 6-foot man can stand up in?
👏🏾🙏🏾 Enjoy your holiday brotha Mike. #salute!!!!!!!
What it does not have windscreens wiper?
What speed Honda rules
I have ran honda everything. Lawnmower, cars, 3-wheelers, fourwheelers, dirtbikes hopefully I can jump up to this someday
I'll buy it when I win powerball on Monday! Lol
Whats the purpose of the triangle teeth on the edge of the windshield?, Reduce glare ??
Beautiful machine.
What’s the price?
Is this a repost I feel I watched this last night
It is but with additional clip in the end. Initial video abruptly cut off 5 mins before ending.
damns! This little HondaJet cruises higher than commercial planes?!?! My next flight out, I hope to see one outside of the window!
Leave it to Honda to smoke down the private plane industry wow they look great
hmmm...is now the honda the best one ?
How much was it
Man that jet is _sweet!_
This would be so much fun to have. Our families are 1400 miles apart and only small airports available.
is there a cap age for starting fly school?
A beautiful plane, I enjoyed both videos . I wish I was closer to your flight school . All the best, Hal
I did not see where blue max six discussed the sale. Wonder what his next move is? Love his content.
ARE THERE GRANTS FOR SENIORS? IM INTERESTED!
I'm heading to Atl from LV on Southwest. It felt like was a passenger on your flight. Hondas are the business.

Why is he selling his HJ? Seems to love it.
Possibly his age has something to do with it or he’s getting a Gulf Stream
He explains in a later video: 1. For tax reasons (change of benefits at the end of this year) 2. He wants to upgrade, maybe into a HJ Elite 2
