BOUNCY Aevin Dugas boasts the world's biggest afro - measuring an incredible four-and-a-half foot around. It takes TWO days to wash and dry and has got so big the 38-year-old struggles to see out from it. The Louisiana native has become a cult hero in her hometown and says everyone from toddlers to grandmothers have been inspired to 'go natural'. However, her record-breaking hair also brings its fair share of trouble. She is unable to drive a car with it up and also ties it back when out on first dates in case it 'overwhelms' them.

Her hair is not that big. She picks it a LOT
I guess she doesn’t need a pillow, because her hair is her pillow

Wait a minute its been 6 years i wonder how big her hair is now
Natalie Castro she still has it it’s just curly now
@Replay Nova Video?
right
Natalie Castro same
She shaved her head 🙁
Why am I tearing up? That was so beautiful and inspiring! She is gorgeous, and she makes me want to go natural. It's awesome to see a black woman fully embrace herself. As a fellow black woman, it can be so easy to just give in, and attempt to look like how society perceives a woman should look (long, flowing hair, without a kink or a curl), but seeing a woman who has gone natural and loving her blackness, just makes me feel empowered!
It's good to stand your ground and be different. If you want your hair straight for fashion then do that, but if you like your natural hair then wear that. It's all about personality, if you got a strong personality society can't get to you. Just stay true to your selve and your own needs.
and her hair is still long! it’s just the shrinkage that makes it shorter. her long afro isn’t the same as long straight hair and that’s ok!

Yes. 10 years ago I had an afro half this size and people were asking to touch it. And sometimes they don't ask. They just do.
If people already touch my hair without my permission and it's short and just curly (I'm multi racial, mostly white), I'm betting she rarely gets any peace except when it's in buns or braids or stuff like that
all my friends touch our friends hair cuz she as curly and i never touch it cuz its honestly so childish and direspectfull

Her hair is sooo healthy 😍😍 its mesmerizing when she brushes it 😱😱

She is so beautiful like it might not be the type of look that society tells us we all need to look like, which is stupid anyway but it almost makes her more attractive because she can look so different from what we're taught is "beautiful" but her attitude, her body, her style, her hair. She rocks it right!

Going natural is one of the BEST decisions I've ever made! ! I've had so much growth in only 10months! Black women stop the damage to ur hair and embrace ur natural beauty! Our hair is "naturally" thick and long learn hw 2 manage it!!
I can't take care of my natural beauty as I am lazy and don't have time for that...
Oye S. ikr? That's the thing. I wish I could go natural, but when I see the maintenance... It's so much work.
Ya'll Im not gonna lie it can be lots of work!! Definitely high maintenance but lady's the amount of growth I've received in a year and a few months is surreal!! Totally worth the amount of time and effort I'm putting into it
Tika Collins I still have time. I'm still plenty young and I'm not even an adult. Maybe then, when I have a job and can buy my own products, I'll try. Right now, I just can't handle it, it'll just break off XD

Truly amazing. I just started my natural hair journey. I've always been so shy with letting my natural out because I believed it wasn't beautiful enough. These are the kind of woman who inspired me that there isn't anything wrong with my hair it's beautiful and defies gravity.
Rock that beautiful hair girl. Always remember, umuhle.
Incredibly beautiful. I'm 16 and have been natural for 1year now. Best thing I've ever done. Say no to creamy crack and nasty, itchy weaves!!!! #Blackandbeautiful

Garnet
Omg her hair is gorgeous 😍 . When she tied her hair and her complete face was visible I could see her beautiful face . She is flawless
I got mad respect for that kind of dedication. I cut off my afro after a couple of years because:
1 - The amount of attention required to take care of it.
2 - You get hair everywhere.
3 - When I have the fro I can't wear a hat - when I wear a hat I can't flex the fro.
Tip to white people, when you touch the fro (yes every white person wants to touch it), don't grab it and definitely don't try to get your hand in there - just feel around the surface. In other words, don't fuck up the fro.
Braid the top of your hair then put your hat on. Also to anyone trying to penetrate my for with their fingers. I don responsible if I forgot to detangle and your fingers get stuck forever
most beautiful afro I've ever seen in my life!!!!! you go girl!!!!😀😀😀😀😀😀

What is the point of putting chemicals in my hair? I agree with her!
She looks gorgeous! As big as her afro is, it still looks well balanced with her curvy body, I might just sound weird but I love it with her!
I love how humble she is! Love her natural beauty and naturally beautiful hair! Too many women sell out to the media's messed up ideologies of beauty and it's wonderful to see women with their own minds showing what is actually beautiful and natural.
All natural. No weave. Wish many more black girls embraced their hair like this.
Wish many more black men adored, celebrated, married and took care of black girls and women regardless of their hair style...
Miss Obesity Rehab But if you were born an African American woman, you should embrace it. You shouldn't be like "My hair is so nappy I hate it, Imma go get weave or a wig to get my hair looking like a white girls hair cuz their hair is beautiful." African american hair can be beautiful too, as seen in the video. She didn't have to change herself by getting a long wig or weave. She looks great with her natural hair, and she has a LOT of it too!
Miss Obesity Rehab Its many more black men out here doing that sis, I consider myself to be one that does. Dont let this tv bull shit make you think that black men out here are not doing that, remember its not part of the social construct to push the black family so they will not show you that and alot of yall are so focused on when you see a nigga with a european woman and the negative shit that yall dont notice or even pay attention to the brotha that has his blk woman
its not a " i am ashamed of my hair " thing its more of natural hair takes alot of work and time to take care of. when we wear weave , you dont have to worry about i have to get up 2 hrs earlier to do my hair. your hair is already taken care of . like she said , it takes a lot of time and effort.
NonneeYaa Samba for afros her size, maintaining mini afros are much more simple.
The only reason I chemically treated my hair was that growing up it was incredibly painful always having it combed and brushed to the point I started to hate it. I've been thinking about going natural in the future, but that's up in the air, especially since my natural hair is ridiculously thick.
Edit: I big chopped in December! Turns out my hair isn't as difficult as I perceived it to be, now that I'm in charge of taking care of it.
Reb0rnArtist Have you seen footage of "The Rapunzel Family"? Now there's some serious hair... ruclips.net/video/gFJtvGhuL7Y/видео.html
It's hard to compare two drastically different types of hair. But the repunzel family do seem to have quite long tresses.
I understand what you're saying. My hair is very course. Before I got my relaxer, when my mother would wash my hair, my hair would draw up like a sponge. It took a long time to comb out. My mother would wash it and braid it up at night and then the next morning, she would press it. But you know what, my hair was so healthy before I got my relaxer.
Just learn how to take care of your hair.
***** I don't wear weave, that's first off and secondly, I don't have to flatiron or style my hair often like others, I rarely moisturize it and eat well and it shows. Lastly, since I take good care of my hair I don't frequently have to go to the extremes to keep it in good condition.
i want that hairrrrr😭😭😭😭😭
She is absolutely beautiful.
She's beautiful idk why you would want straight hair when you can have that
Because straight hair is better.
@@amariahaakins6859 nah, for her the FRO looks way better. Straight hair looks good on lots of people, but the curls and afros look better on others and she is one of em.

Now black women this is called wearing your natural God given crown, beautiful!!!
@classicanimal But other races never were told by society not to wear their natural hair just because how it looks and the way it grows out of their head. Black women/men are the real kings and queens of afro natural hair which is why we call it crowns cuz of how its shape and more unique then any other hair type 😊

EXCUSE ME? She doesn’t mean it in an offensive or serious way. Her mother is just being a typical mother. Heck, I’m white and my hair gets super tangled/frizzy when I wear it down, and my mother is always telling me “Oh you should wear it down tomorrow!” and things like that regardless.
Wooosh Bait I didn’t see the username of the person above you and thought you were just replying “EXCUSE ME? .......” haha, I was wondering for a second haha
You can say that again! Some people are in mega denial! It is really sad, I really was not trying to disrespect anyone but really guys changing your hair texture? Sharon Palmer everyone can't walk around smelling like wet dog
Thats how black people hair look. And it's beautiful. whites have been trying to tell them it's ugly for years and would rather see them going bald because of bad weaves and wigs trying to fit in with the white race. When we all know you're just jealous because your hair is thin, so is you lips and you age like milk bitch.
our hair grows like that too in some cases . the difference is that when it does we don't try to make it into something gigantic to show off. We TAME it as we should so as not to be a spectacle or a side show freak. We work at being neat and nice at work and at school and when we don't we get sent home to groom ourselves. BLacks on the other hand use this excuse of oh well it grows like that so hey you have to look at the mess whether you want to or not because hey uh.. WE BLACK and therefore can do whatever we please and if we get called on it and asked to groom ourselves properly we scream THAS RACISSS!!!!. so sick of black PRIVILEGE. and as to me.... lol...... I have long thick thick dark hair... and full lips.. all given to me by my Mexican mother so I don't know who you think you are talking to but as to jealousy? oh TRUST ME ON THIS. you have no idea how relieved I am NOT to be like you. And I am aging very well thank you... LOL you crack me up.. you don't even bother to look at me before you start spewing your same old tired truly jealous hate... And no .. sweetheart you don't have to get nasty weaves and such.. just cut that mess short or get tiny braids but please spare the rest of us this so called natural look. We could go natural too and just not ever brush or fix our hair but we aren't allowed to.. only YOU people right?
