This brought me here because of my recent loss. My beloved grandmother, Mary Yoder, has peacefully passed away on Wednesday night due to the devastating complications of her dementia. She was diagnosed with it since 2011 and her entire adult life just faded away as the years went by. But when the pandemic hit last year, it made her go from bad to worse. She wasn’t used to staying stuck in the house 24/7 everyday. Normally, we’d take her out and she would happily greet people with a humble smile. But during the lockdown, things got out of hand with her. Back in February, she was trying to leave the house in her pajamas so she can “go home to her family” who had been dead longer before her. With no other choice, we were forced to send her away to the hospital where we found out that she had a urinary tract infection. After several weeks of getting antibiotics of the infection, she lived in Fairlane Gardens for a while. But after a few minor setbacks, we’ve managed to get her into a proper, clean, and healthy nursing home called Phoebe. Since then we started visiting her under the COVID-19 safety rules and she got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine from them. But after a while, she wouldn’t eat or drink anything they could offer her. The last time we visited her was Wednesday morning and she was in a lot of pain due to her breathing problems. And then, at 7:35 p.m. that night, we received a call from the nursing home and were informed of her passing. (sighs) It’s so cruel that a disease like dementia turned someone who had loved and supported me and my family since childhood into a miserable person who had completely forgotten her adult life and regressed her to the point of behaving like a child. We’ve made so many sacrifices for her and we did all that so we could to take very good care of her unselfishly. But for now, she is at peace. She is fully reunited with her parents, brother, in-laws, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and several old friends. She can get to be with her husband again after being a widow for 21 years. And most of all, her pain and suffering has ended at last.
I'm so sorry for your loss this is such a heartbreaking story. I understand you, my dear grandmother passed away two months ago but due to covid-19. She was in good health and happy. But she got covid from one of my young cousins who got if from school. At the beginning, she was fine but then her lungs stop working. It just shows how cruel covid-19 is, taking away lives directly and indirectly. I wrote a piece of music for my grandmother called finite. I'd be happy if you visited my channel and listened to it.
Reading this, with the soundtrack playing in the background was just a whole experience. I am happy you shared your story and may your grandmother rest in heaven!! ❤
Just watched casper lastnight. I was 10 when I first watched it here I am 30 yrs old now thinkinh how beautiful this lullabty is. Back then didnt think much of it. The nostgalia.

@LindsayHall-ms7uk Awww, I still say this to my wife of over 20 years. I've struggled with ideations and have attempted taking my own life as well. All I can say is, I'm so so so sorry for your loss! For what it's worth, I'm sure he still carries you with him! May continue to RIP!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Although James Horner was well-known to have lifted many musical phrases from both classical and contemporary composers and incorporated them into his own works, he basically made them his own...well done, James. You are missed.

Such a beautiful,haunting and yet almost sad melody.
This piece is my go to when dealing with young musicians. Horner had a way of encapsulating emotion with instruments.
The conversation between the clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and flute is pure auditory magic and torture.
The strings set an earthly tone whe the piano sings out the healing heavenly tones. The chorus of voices are angelic and the whisper of the symbols gives that ghostly etheral texture.
This is a master class in putting the purest of heart ache into music. Horner, meine meistro, thank you and rest in peace.

It's getting to be that time of the year. I feel sorrow when I hear this. I always see a young dead boy that's fallen in love with a living girl he knows he'll never have. "Can I keep you?" He got to touch her one time. Was that wish a blessing, or was it torture? Just a taste, but never to have again. Then, to watch her grow up, fall in love, have children and be happy for a lifetime. Leaving him as a small dead child alone with just that one memory, forever alone in misery.
