Ferrari had over 500 people interested in buying one, which they did not expect given the price and time (after the financial crisis). They made around 50 more because they didn't want to turn down VIPs that had bought nearly every model up to that point. The Murcielago SV was basically the opposite...they didn't have enough buyers to complete their planned production run.
I bet if you actually called up these people and asked if their car REALLY is a SA Aperta, they would probably not be sure or even know what the difference is. I dont know how accurate this "Exclusive car registry" list is.

I once heard the engine noise of a 599 GTO ! Unforgettable and the 599 GTO I personally heard had that ground shaking quality. This video by Shmee confirms the magnificent sounding V12 engine off the 599 SA Aperta. No one, I mean no absolutely NO one manufacturer can match the genuine sound of a naturally aspirated V 12 Ferrari. Some will say Lamborghini. Lamborghini V 12's are loud but their engine sounds don't gave the key note PEDIGREE of the Ferrari V 12. The newish 812GTS and the magnificent Competitzione in my opinion, sound that little much better than the ageing Aventador and the horrid sounding Sian. NOTE - One recent wealthy owner, it was reported on Instagram dumped his Sian on the market as he hated the engine noise. (If the story about the Sian being sold is actually true due to its "horrible sounding engine noise". Many say the real reason was its overall performance, that is a Sian is basically a hybrid Aventador with a double clutch auto gearbox at three times the cost ! )
Love the deeper growl of older V12 Ferraris. This seems like a perfect high performance road car. I normally like midengine Ferraris more but this is perfect

I see one in Utah all the time a couple automotive magazines did a story on the owner Richard Losee picking it up in Italy. He also had 2 LaFs and owns the highest mileage Enzo in the world. He has a F90 Superamerica also.
It certainly does, and there aren't many moments off camera in unfamiliar cars. The few that I do have, I truly enjoy though, without the pressure of the video.

The gearbox in this is hands down BETTER than a dual clutch! The best F1 transmission ever made; faster shifts than a brand new V12 Lambo lol. So it's quick enough, and has more feel.
Apparently there’s one in existence in the official colour of Giallo Lady Gaga! Now that’s both rare and unique at the same time. The 599 SA Aperta is one of the all time greats. It’s outstanding.

Yeah beautiful rare car, but I have to disagree with you on one point, open topped cars for me are great winter drives, but I live in Australia, in summer it's to hot to have the roof down, in winter you just put the heater on your feet drop the roof & enjoy yourself, Rj in Oz

Zondas actually didn't sound that great until the F came out with the revised exhaust. It's definitely higher pitched... just a different tone than this.

I love the SA Aperta! I've been lucky enough to see TWO of them here in Michigan as well (one of them had the very rare carbon fiber roof option!).

Do you ever get to just go an experience car events without filming? Just curious if having to film ever takes away from the moment.
