Doesn’t really seem like a apt comparison since watches are more so in the side of jewelry where the primary purpose of telling time doesn’t have the same impact as audio quality does to a set of professional headphones.
@@colinevans1967 I think most people would say something like the AirPods max or the sony's or the Kef's sound amazing. What headphones are you referring to that sound bad and cost hundreds of dollars? I just don't think that exists. I think it isn’t too crazy to imagine headphones as both aesthetics and function like a watch
The main reason I love over ear headphones that I think doesn’t get talked about enough is the fact that they work as earmuffs for the cold seasons! It’s beautiful because I don’t have to stop listening to my music on long cold walks ❤
as someone who's a bit of an audiophile, I have to say that it's become a bit embarrassing for me to purchase new headphones or wear them in public because it's seen as an aesthetic thing. I think they look cool; of course I do, that's why I still wear them in public, but I think it also just changes how people view headphones for the worse, and I don't want to be seen as someone who drops a shit ton of money on an 'accessory' just because it makes me look more unique.

Just copy and paste the thing below and search it on Google and it will pop up. Koss Porta Pro Limited Edition Rhythm Beige On-Ear Headphones, in-Line Microphone, Volume Control and Touch Remote Control, Retro Style, Includes Hard Carry Case, Wired with 3.5mm Plug, Rhythm Beige
Those are some beautiful headphones. Your video inspired me to get some headphones instead of earbuds for the aesthetic. Ended up getting the Koss porta pros, love the retro look.
I used to wear huge soundproof headphones because of my sensory issues. Now I wear Samsung buds+ for discretion. Some of these newer over the ear headphones look similar to the types used by neurodivergent folks, that we'd be made fun of for. Hey, at least it's normalized, but it's never just the piece that makes someone "fashionable". I haven't seen any cat ear headphones lately, but I imagine that the next big step in styling the tech would be clip-on charms or chains. Especially making using of the headband part of the headphones.
why not? You wear them, they are visible to others, ergo they are no different from something like glasses which are both fashion accessory and vital tool for many people.
Yeah you can impress yourself with a pair of Air pods maxes every second person on instagram owns so unique and so special- jokes aside it’s ridiculous how an every day items has become this trendy
I see it as a good thing. I'm on the autism spectrum, and wearing some form of headphones or earbuds in public is necessary in certain situations for me. Whether it's to help me focus, or I just wanna replace the loud droning of machinery or the bustle of traffic with something a little more pleasant (right now a bunch of Deadmau5).
I don't understand people that wear headphones for aesthetic purposes when it's sound quality that they should care about.
What about people who wear watches for aesthetic purposes

Yeah it’s stupid to spend money on headphones that look good but sound bad

I feel like people just throw around the word aesthetic nowadays just to sound cooler or smarter.
