- IT happens. We just got back from a sneaker show and found that one of the pairs we copped was a REP (fake) pair. As much as we hate to be out the $400, we always like to take the opportunity to use our situation to help inform our viewers and subscribers (it'd be AWESOME if YOU became one of those!) on how to spot the difference! These rep pairs are getting better and better so it's tougher and tougher to spot them! This one has some pretty big tells, including some YOU may spot if you watch close and check out all the footage.

Yeah? With everything even closer to the real ones? Any good tells you know of on those for our viewers (and us!) ?
@@FanCaveSTL as far as I know there is 2 new versions one of them I know is only lacking the shade of green and the white netting is weirdly shaped but the 2nd one is 0.99/1 to the real ones so I imagine a lot of those are going to hit stockx.
Eventually when the reps are 1.1 those factories are going to make mistakes on purpose when it comes to labels for example the productions dates or sku are going to be wrong in purpose.

You guys tried using the black light in the front tabs?
I’m honestly not sure we put a black light on it… again, it was a quick and chaotic purchase among many that day and looking back we could have spotted a hundred things. There is definitely a difference in the lining/backing to the tag on the tongue that we didn’t mention in the video as well. We noticed it after we filmed and it shows up in the video a little, too. We filmed this kinda run and gun as well and found a few things that didn’t get caught on camera.
*I know for me, easy tell is the toe box. Unauthentic pairs toe box is so thick. As well as heel tab being too small as mentioned*

did the heal tab have the same flexibility?
It kinda felt the same, but definitely curved in only toward the shoe. We did notice from the side shot that on the real pair it kinda flares back away from the shoe. We’ll recheck the feel of it, though. Thanks for the comment!
Nike SB logo on back are completely different. Real pair is bolder and letters are closer together.
We noticed that after filming too. And the white space underneath is way different.

You guys really missed some obvious things on this. Costly and dumb mistake. The shape on the tongue and heel is way off. But the most blatant thing is that they’re not even laced up correctly.
Too many red flags at first glance. Whoever made the call to buy these is really lacking attention to detail.

It’s a bummer for sure, but again, we’re not even sure he knew. It’s the places making and distributing them that are really to blame. They’re doing a good enough job that they get missed at multiple levels.
