Just sold a 2015 base spec L405 V6 and purchased a late 2016 low mileage autobiography V8 with fsh. The difference is staggering, the V8 is so much smoother and feels much more composed possibly / probably because it's a heavier car.
Totally agree with everything you've said and I'm at the age where I appreciate and want my comfort!

My parents had the same vehicle and we managed to sell it about two weeks ago. This was the most beautiful vehicle that my family has ever owned. Pure luxury with a full spec of features. What was most impressive is how unbelievably light this vehicle is on fuel for such a powerful engine.
Our vehicle had no faults at all until we gave it to the dealership for it's routine service. Then the problems started. Every single time we gave our vehicle back to get something fixed, something else would suddenly break. Lol the handbrake even had a malfunction... My parents had to spend a ton of money on some things that the ripoff warranty did not cover. Then after it all was fixed the warranty expired and we decided to hit a quick road trip. We were then left stranded on the road because it completely broke!
I just don't know what to believe. Is this vehicle really the problem or if our dealerships in South Africa are the problem? I cannot understand how a perfectly fine vehicle would break with a new fault after getting it back from the dealership.
Anyway, I am so glad that our Range Rover is sold. It was the most difficult van to sell as nobody wanted it. And it has such a terrible resale value. My family will never own the brand again even if given one for free. We are now back to the right brand and on our 3rd Toyota Prado👌
Feel free to check out the photos of the Range Rover on my Instagram CarsBySandhir19😁

Omg I totally relate!!! I bought mine brand new and had a 5 year service warranty with LR. The car was a dream to own with NO ISSUES whatsoever. Not even small issues. BUT then on the final service it came back and had a smell from the exhaust. Then after I took it back to fix it then came back with the turbo being the next issue and now suddenly they’re telling me I need a major service to fix it and will cost me $3000 after I just spent $6000 on replacing the turbo. All the problems escalated after the warranty finished and it was all within 5 months. So I’m selling it now. I suspected LR purposely triggered the problems to happen at every service.

I keep drifting in and out of hoping to buy one , but even if I treat it with kid gloves ! I have a horrible feeling it will drain all of my hard earned cash ! , don’t get me wrong I do love them BUT ! unfortunately I am not a millionaire ! So 🤷🏼‍♂️ I don’t know ? Maybe one day or am I being too scared ? 🤦🏼‍♂️

I can’t tell you that they’re not a more expensive car to own and to maintain, but I can definitely tell you that they’re a fantastic driving experience and offer huge comfort and capability! I think if you can find a nice example that has been well maintained (even if it means saving for a little longer) it’s definitely worth considering. It’s also helpful to have a little pot aside to be able to put any faults right in the hope that you don’t have to use it 😅

Thing is the big Land Cruiser V8s are far less available in the the UK than compared with the Range Rover. They are also quite a bit more expensive second hand. In other countries like Australia or Asian countries it would make more sense. But in the UK a Range Rover does

It’s becoming really difficult to get anything even close to a new Land Cruiser in the UK, people are even importing them from Dubai as dealerships don’t sell them here.
