Lundqvist was so good to a fault. He covered up so many holes in the Rangers that Sather thought he was close when he really wasn’t. Sather not developing a pipeline of young cheap talent cost Henrik his years at a Cup.
Growing up a fan of the NYR it felt like no one we drafted in the first round ever turned into anything and I'm sad/glad to see I wasn't imagining it. @@johnrwalker53 that’s a bit much. Plenty of highly skilled players have never panned out for various reasons. In my estimation, he didn’t have the type season we all wanted because Gallant wants a 200 ft. player. As much as I want our guys to earn their ice time and be responsible, I also don’t want to waste these kids potential. It’s kind of like what happened to Gaborik and Nash.
