- It's release day! Poppy Playtime chapter 3 is FINALLY here!
Join me as I begin our journey into the Playcare in the third instalment of my favourite mascot horror game series!
What is Poppy up to? Why is she with Kissy Missy? Is this Huggy just a hallucination? These are just some of the questions I hope we find answers to!
This will be my episodic playthrough of chapter 3 before I really deep dive into the new content to try and explain the story and make my theories!

Couple of things!
I had actually recorded my camera for the playthrough but technical difficulties meant I couldn't use the whole footage. So that's why you see parts of it here and there. I will try and fix it for next time.
Also, the playthrough will be uploaded in parts as fast as I can, then we move onto the lore/secrets etc! Hope you enjoy! (Please give likes I am so tired).
For me this is not a problem at all, actually I prefer no face cam for gaming vids because face cam covers part of the game play and breaks immersion for me.

i just noticed that in the beginning cartoon when all of the critters pass out, doggy day is there with both of his hands up like hes chained to a wall beside catnap..I feel like i saw doggy day locked up inside a jail with his hands chained in one of the trailers or teasers at the part when they say "this is what they do to members of the patriarchy" or something!!!

The clap and a half is a celebration type thing matpat does on game theory.
My comment, matpat is retiring and passing off his channels. So a lot of people are sad/saying goodbye to him

So, the cutouts....
They were changed, the pedestal buttons tell us that.
Which means EACH TOY recorded a message FOR YOU.
Something happened, and your character left the factory.
And Bendy Wuggy knows about you too.

Next to The Doctor, you might be most responsible.

It seems the cutouts start with the voice lines on the pedestal, then get more sinister, as is normal for the cutouts in this game.
I've never searched for this but like why do the cardboard cutouts seem to talk directly to you? Because ain't no way dude was like "wanna know what I remember about you?" While talking to the kids & they just end up screaming-like the characters are apparently dead too so how they be recording messages specifically for you or for someone specifically to listen little clues because I doubt all the messages are for you
The elephant cutout said that he remembers you and then screamed. I think that screaming is the thing that he remembers about you. The message about guilt and radio message that you missed the event. I think that the event is the hour of joy, and you were supposed to be there and be killed because you were the big bad for the kids that you tortured. The messages from hallucinations may be your subconscious telling you that you should be there and die for what you've done.
I think it's more so "survivor's guilt" (an actual psychological phenomenon). The player took the day off that day and thus was the only one who lived
Or, as I took it, perhaps all the elephant remembers is screaming because the person we're playing as was the one who actively doing the experimentation...so like the doctor or someone.

DogDay is sitting next to Catnap, and all of the other members are on the ground. This prob is because DogDay and CatNap are the only ones left. Also, DogDay’s bottom half is covered by a blanket, and his arms are in the same position as when we saw him in the game. Great job by Playtime Co.
Aww that game theory Easter egg is actually kinda sweet, considering how last minute it must have been
Well the game was probably still being worked on in the three weeks since the announcement, but a lot of devs have shown support, this is just the first release since the announcement - we may yet see more especially as Scott has a new game coming.
Considering how Mommy long legs turned out in chapter 2 and hearing the VHS tape of Claire Harper. It would make more sense if she became Mommy longs legs it would explain her protectiveness of the children, and her hatred of the staff. Especially the line where she recognized that we the player were a former employee at Playtime co. She could have been turned into a bigger body’s toy against her will or volunteered.
cool idea, but unfortunately it's already debunked by chapter 2. There's a note in the water treatment room in chapter 2 that reveals Mommy was originally a girl named Marie Payne

Actually, now that you mention this I kind of have a thought (not really a theory honestly-) but what if the recordings are like the last words of the toys who betrayed the factory? Like a warning to other toys who try to escape or try to help kids escape? Or maybe even failed experiments that didn’t meet their expectations, and had there vocal boxes ripped out of them to be put up as warnings? Like placing a head on a stick or a body hanging around ext…

8.8.1995. we have a date for when the incident happened, quick SPOILER!! for those who have not yet watched the rest of chapter 3, DO NOT READ ON!!
When you finish chapter 3 poppy plays a tape for us, showing what happened, what was previously known in chapter 1 and 2 as "the incident". It's later revealed that this was "the hour of joy". The radio says we as the player should of been there 10 years ago. Which makes me think we as the player had a much bigger role in this company than we think, maybe our player got lucky that day by not coming into work because we probably knew what was going to happen.
I really feel like our character has a much bigger role in what's happened we just don't know what yet.
I feel this debunks the idea that we're a toy. Since living toys aren't allowed to leave
I personally feel that because the elephant remembers us but the only thing it remembers is screamimg is that we were one of the ones in charge of inflicting pain on the children, perhaps like a doctor or something
there were so many references already it's amazing! The PT style hallways and the little farewell note to MatPat :')

1st: Clap and a half is almost certainly a nod to matpat, as on GTLive a "clap and a half" was something they did occasionally for something really good.
My thoughts, for what they're worth:
The red stuff coming from the ceiling at like 6:00, I'm not sure it's bl00d. That's way too much. Instead, I'm wondering if it's a component of the red gas, perhaps a poppy-infusion.
"STAY TUNED FOR MORE" is outside of quotes, and in a different voice...
Phone voice might be that mystery girl with the weeping angel mechanic?
I wonder if you were an employee ON THE SIDE OF THE TOYS, and we were supposed to be at the hour to help, but called off or something
I still think the poppy line in the trailer talking about how 1006 needs to die is the incitement of the hour, a recording, not talking to us.
You know what I wonder? I wonder if maybe the house we are in before, when we are listening to the radios and news reports, I wonder if we are in a memory of Elliot Ludwig's house. It's also interesting to note that the first broadcast we hear is worded "The LATE Elliot Ludwig..." implying that he died at some point before the broadcast was made.
I think the “clap and a half to you. We’ll miss you” is actually a reference to MatPat’s retirement which he’d announced recently rather something in the lore since “clap and a half” is something he says on his live channel. Which, if so, is really heartwarming.

It's practically a Vault-Tec Vault. Ludwig clearly intended for this place to be an enormous fallout shelter, with the intent of protecting children from a potential nuclear holocaust. He built PlayCare in the mid-1950's, after all, during the Cold War era. The threat of The Bomb was on everyone's mind at the time, and it has long been a marvel to me that something akin to the Vaults was never actually attempted.
I have to wounder how Ollie seems to see what the player is seeing, for example when you enter the area with the burning train Ollie seems to know what the wreck looks like. makes me wonder if he somehow planted a camera on the player, maybe on the grab-pack or the toy phone. I don't think he is following the player because that would mean leaving whatever safe spot he has found to hide... unless Ollie is not who he seems to be...
I had the same thought, the phone has eyes though so I think it's that!

The playcare reveal reminds me a lot of Walt Disney's original ideas for EPCOT - which I think might be it looks so much like a dome from the outside like you said. It's pretty cool!

Considering the employees were working with orphans at what was ostensibly a high tech orphanage it wouldn’t have been surprising if some of the workers bonded with some of the kids and planned to adopt them. It happens all the time in kitten and puppy fosters, they’re called foster fails because you went into the relationship planning to raise them to adopt out and then that second part just didn’t happen. I think that’s probably what happened with Claire and
Marie. I imagine PlayCare probably had protocols in place to deal with employees that started becoming too attached to the kids. Makes me wonder what happened to Claire.
One thing I’ve been wondering: Are we playing an employee who started to realize something was wrong, maybe one of the kids they got attached to got “adopted” and when they tried to reach out to the new family to keep in touch with the kid they realized the kid never left PlaytimeCo. Or maybe you were one of the kids and one of the workers managed to smuggle you out. Now years later you’ve been lured back and are trying to find out what happened to your friends.
Ooh that backwards message suggests you’re probably one of the kids. You were supposed to be part of the uprising Catnap was leading but you didn’t show up, one of the staff realized crap was about to get real and smuggled you out. Now the toys are pissed at you either because they recognize you and think you betrayed them or they don’t differentiate between adults.
I also need to see a giant living bron in game, maybe with candy cat too, in a cafeteria environment???
Kinda weird that Ollie does know everything the protagonist does right after things happen. Its almost like he can see throug the Phone ...
And the phone even has eyes like come on, if Olly isnt the phone itself then i dont know. And he always speaks of "the kids" like he doesnt sees himself as one or is it only me ?

SPOILER ALERT:
In one of the VHS tapes harley sawyer talked to 1006, and we found out that 1006 can mimic voices, what if he is just luring us, poppy, and (maybe if not dead) kissy to a trap for the final chapter.

it's interesting that Piggy Piggy has an apple on her necklace, and she's the critter we know is super into eating (including her friends), and then the cardboard cutout of Miss Delight we see... has an apple on the front of her dress, mimicking the location of Piggy's apple. obviously teachers and apples are already a known thing... but we find out she went on to eat her sisters. spooky/fun parallel!

Like.. I know Elliot is prolly old and withering at this point but.. What if you play as Elliot? What if the reason he's "dead" is because hes dead to the factory. Maybe he was SUPPOSED to he at the Hour of Joy, but ditched because he didn't want to hurt anybody- because he was incapable of violence
The idea that a man in his 90s at the youngest would be doing all this physical stuff is not very likely. If he is even still alive.

something i just realized, in the smiling critters cartoon episode, the way dogday is positioned at the end, when they're all "asleep" is eerily similar to how he hangs in the playhouse jail. Also, he is the only one not on the floor, maybe hinting at the fact that dogday is the last of smiling critter alive.

Yall I just figured out something, we were supposed to be at playtime co for a meeting on 8 - 8 - 1995 (aka: Hour of Joy) which was 10 YEARS AGO and 10 YEARS LATER IS 2005. So I Can Confirm this MIGHT take place in 2005
I also suspect that around 46:05 It was either the Prototype, Some Random Employee, Or Harley Sawyer talking to us. Idk, Post Replys on what u think.

Maybe KickinChickens cardboard cutout line was made to make the orphans more scared of the outside, and trust/feel more safe in playcare? Kind of like in rapunzel
Okay I have a ramble on some thoughts:
I'm noticing that this game has some influences from other games. That is totally not a bad thing! I love seeing inspiration that creators incorporate into their own. But I feel it could also give an insight to how the game could end (or not)
For Poppy Playtime... I am getting huge vibes of the Portal games! For this chapter specifically, I got Silent Hills PT.... at least for the looping hallway bit. I'm sure the rest of chapter is different bc I have yet to watch your pt 2.
Back on the Portal thing though: Chel was the MC and she was trapped as a test subject in an underground facility testing the Portal Gun and Long Fall Boots ( 29:31 ).
I'm also getting huge Cave Johnson and his assistant Caroline vibes, with GLaDOS and Wheatley in the sequel. The chase scene from Mommy Long Legs kind of made me think of the chapter in Portal 2 where you had to run from Wheatley's spiky plates once he got control.
(Can't forget Doug Ratman scampering around like Ollie maybe..., or, "the Cake is a Lie" being thrown around like "the hour of joy", etc...)
It could be nothing, but I am curious if those games had influence or if it's just coincidence.
I don't think it's a coincidence. I had a whole portal theory in mind since the lemon, but it got too close to chapter 3 so I waited. Now I am only more convinced. The lemon is a lie.

Before I drop a little Theory I have to say, I really like and enjoy how you play through an explore. Most who played the games so far, where really rushing though the games and miss so much Lore eventually. I really like how you take your time and explore.
Now a little Theory I had in my head, because i wonder, why Catnap haven't killed us in the beginning. I mean he could have, but he didn't. As I know cats, cats most likely bring close ones, sometimes their human a little, a mouse or a bird, sometimes dead or even still alive to show affection. Maybe Catnap, throw us downwards in the dirction of the Prototype to feed it. How said in a trailer. The Prototype is like a God to him. Side Note: Straving in some cults for a higher Power or even gift them Offerings crossed my mind as well with that. I mean Catnap looks really thin almost starved not gonna lie, but maybe he had always looked that way. Who knows.

Does anyone else notice that the player character is shorter in the flashbacks? Maybe they were originally a orphan there.
The amount of PT in this section is outstanding... looping hallway, forced exposition playing on the radio about the horrorific finding of a crime, the not quite laughing not quite crying... I was just waiting for the fetus in the sink.
I came by to watch your first few minutes of this. I will watch the whole thing after I can playthrough it. I cannot wait, I love you playthroughs. Question. When you go through and look for clues and stuff, do you write things you find in like in a notebook, or do you use like a document on the computer? Just curious as to what your process is for keeping everything straight lol I like to take handwritten notes on things, but I've found that most people aren't like that...
Honestly I keep most of my ideas in my head, after going through the footage enough times I become familiar where most things are.

I I don’t think that cockroach was meant to be there lol. I think they were working on bug AI and left it there and failed to remove it .
Theory as to the vocie recording cardboard cut outs of characters. They used to have cute and normal vocie lines for the factory tours but when the factory went down, catnap or mommy long legs changed the vocie lines for some reason

Hey tericho I want you to notice when huggy appeared on the monitor screen during the vhs tape, his eyes didn't actually look like the original huggy, the original huggy (or normal huggy) has a more rounder eye shape, this one has more oval and realistic eyes which does not corellate to him, which does reinforce that this is a hullicanation
