- Many people are under the assumption that Experiment 1006, The prototype, is the big bad villain of the Poppy Playtime series.
But after reviewing the evidence, I don't think that is true at all.
Not only do I think 1006 is not as bad as he seems, but I know think the villain of Poppy Playtime is much closer to home than we first thought.

I just want to point out that I recorded and began editing this one before Tom released his awesome theory on the Game Theory channel. So I didn't get to tackle whether 1006 could be Rich.
I like that theory too, I think both are possible, we'll have to wait for more clues!

If Ludwig was the Prototype, and Poppy was Ludwig's daughter, then that makes Poppy wanting to kill the Prototype so much worse...
Yea exactly I feel this strongly that it’s Ludwig and poppy’s the daughter that died which is so sad if it is true this theory cause it’s daughter against father
She was locked away though so possibly she has no idea he is the prototype. Also, if she does know he's Elliot maybe Poppy didn't want this second chance at life. Rationally no one wants to become an immortal toy to suffer a lifetime or being locked away. I think that will be the twist in the end, Poppy wants revenge for her own suffering.

Also if you go to the game creators channel. The new music video, it shows the prototype offering its hand like he does to catnap, but poppy rejects and run away. That's when she gets locked up.

Most of the toys don't attack until you won't leave. Huggy doesn't attack until you try to go deeper into the factory. Both Catnap and Miss Delight don't attack until after they tell you to leave and you don't. Poppy is the only one who /doesn't/ want you to leave. She derails a whole ass train when you do try to leave. Definitely curious.
Mommy also didn't want us to leave on the train while you weren't participating in the Games.

Even in the state she was in she was completely capable of differentiating that we shouldn’t be there and she recognized the player who’s a worker coming back for their coworkers. Also I found it quite odd that Ollie would warn of us of them but they weren’t out to harm us till we delved deeper like you mentioned. Interesting 🧐
@@piplup10203854 Catnap spends most of his section just stalking you too. Seeing what you're doing. He could just be playing with his food, but I think he would've killed the pc long before that if he was. Plus why tell someone to leave if you're planning on killing them?

I didn't like Ollie from go. Too convenient, voice really out of place, too sudden, a too good to be true feeling. And that's minus the fact that the Prototype is a mimic. Was Poppy talking to Ollile before Ollie's phone showed up in ch3?
@@Resident-vj1ek But would she have derailed a whole train to do it? Most of the toys seem to have and be very comfortable in their own "territories." They don't seem to venture very far away from them. Also, did she not want us to leave to keep playing with her, or did she not want PC to leave the whole factory like Poppy does. A very good point to make indeed.

I think that Catnap gets killed by the prototype on purpose. He knew he was going to die so he rejoiced one last time to become part of his idol, the prototype.
OK I have several thoughts on this.
While the perspective of 1006 being Elliot Ludwig is interesting, I don't think that the Prototype is the hero at all. Keep in mind, that after the Hour of Joy, he established a survival of the fittest dictatorship, where the toys have to eat each other to survive for just one more day, and judging by the Kickin' Chicken cutout he has also prevented anyone from leaving.
This doesn't seem very heroic to me.
The Sleep Well video even addresses this in the lyrics of: "Artificial facade in a fraud of a god. We just wanted to heal but now our nightmares are real, now we'll never wake up for we're torn apart."
The Toys have been promised freedom, but 1006 deceived them and has placed them in just another cage (something which Game Theory calls out). 1006 placed them in this never ending nightmare. I definitely think that Poppy is the lesser evil here, if she's evil at all.
Yeah it definitely seems to be a case of "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". I think that's what makes it a good story. But, the point I am making here is that he's not doing what he is doing because he is evil. He is trying his best to create the "paradise" that the song references too.
@@Tericho I mean it's been a decade and the factory is very close to falling apart, so if he has any sort-of plan he better hurry up. Because eventually the building will collapse, burying everyone in it.

@riskopalfi801 that is a very interesting take on it. And would be the twist of the century if we were Stella. It would make so much sense, we would have known about everything going on there and there is no proof of Stella being there the day of the hour of joy. So very very well we could be Stella. Would also explain how all the toys/children recognize the player as an employee when seeing them cause if we was just a low level employee we would blended in with the rest but a high level like Stella would be recognizable. Mind has been blown
I just don't understand why so many people are fixated on this idea that Elliot was a good person who cared about the children. I don't think any of this is true and there's a lot of evidence to prove it.
Elliot knew about the experiments and was okay with it. He was okay with turning children into toys to save money.
I don' t know where you're getting the kids were terminally ill. Having a hospital doesn't mean the kids were on their deathbeds, only the people running the place weren't complete monsters and did try to care for the children as best they could.
Heck he hired people like Harley Sawyer. And I think it's likely he choose orphans because he wanted test subjects no one would notice were gone. It wasn't about bringing 'smiles to children' it was about making money. I think for him it was the company he valued not the kids.
He may have truly cared for whoever Poppy was before she was a toy but that doesn't mean those credits transfer to the kids. I feel you also misunderstand the Stella tape and the dead kid. The Stella tape was telling us this was where Playtime Co. priorities were. It was about having test subjects not about giving these kids a good home.
And if Elliot really cared about the dead kid in his house why not give the kid a proper funeral instead of stuffing him inside a duffel bag and hiding him in his house? I mean it was pretty clear to me whoever did that was trying to tell us that Elliot killed children. I don't know how else you can read that incident.
I always found it strange how vague they were about his past. Why not tell us which family member he lost? Unless they're trying to hide something. I mean of course Playtime was gonna deny everything. Did you expect them to say 'yes Elliot Ludwig killed and experimented on children, please shut us down'?
The tape, the posters, they're all propaganda. Playtime benefited from the myth of Elliot, of course they would try to keep it going.
That doesn't mean any of it was true.
I would check the characters section on the TV tropes page for Poppy Playtime as it explains everything. I think you've got a lot of this wrong.

I did check the TV Trope page and for the most part they agree with me? They point out that the dead kid in his house is really suspect, and that he was obsessed with using the poppy flowers to resurrect people and this lead to the Bigger Bodies Initiative. Also dude had no problem with killing a rat and then using it for experiments so yeah suspect.
Heck the only thing that goes against my opinion is that Harley Sawyer may have killed him, and that maybe someone was trying to frame him. But as he was dead at the time child's body was found that doesn't make any sense.
And as much as I love TV Tropes in the end they're just people sharing their opinions and theories just as I am. I don't think anyone works for MOB Entertainment and knows everything.
I actually have a theory about who we are. We know we’re an ex-employee. Who are the employees we know who truly cared about the children? Elliott. Stella.
And RICH.
He is the one recurring character who seems a bit disconnected from the rest. In the videos in which he appears, he’s upset about the direction of the company is taking and how poorly the employees are being treated. But I didn’t really give him much thought until his video in chapter three.
In that video, it shows that he cares about the kids. Their entire environment is artificial and the majority of employees aren’t even allowed to talk to the kids at all and that concerns him. It’s obvious he doesn’t know about the experimentation throughout all this…but what if that changed? He’s up for a promotion, possibly taking over what’s-his-name’s job. He could have learned about the company’s secret dealings.
I can see this leading to him feeling guilty about everything and being unable to stop anything. For whatever reason, he didn’t make it to work for the Hour of Joy. Knowing he was one of the few who cared would explain why whoever sent the tape, preying on the guilt and luring him back. Going back now could be his (our) shot at making things right after the inability to do something about it years ago.
But I could also be overthinking things and his videos really are just to show employee disgruntlement.
Yeah, I think that he was guilty and refused the promotion.
In one of the radio recordings, if you reverse it it says "you missed the event, the meeting, the party". That might refer to a meeting and celebration for him being promoted.
Maybe the Prototype planned the Hour of Joy to happen on that day knowing many people would come to work (or perhaps they would be less alert due to preparing to celebrate).
I wonder if there's possibly an issue with if an adult is transferred into a toy that an eventual mental break or split could occur because an adult has spent their entire life as a human and then being transferred into another body is like creating a second personality. Whereas, with a child, who has no lifetime of memories in a grown body, they would adapt quicker to their new situation and their natural personalities would come through. Huggy and Kissy are good examples of this being very child like in much of their behavior and while Huggy demonstrates violence, it's clearly what he's been instructed to do (probably by the prototype) to protect himself and the others. I think Poppy is way too clever and devious to have been a child when she was transferred but that's clearly to be proved...

I always had an idea that the prototype was a bigger bodies version of poppy since we never seen any other version of here in the factory even though see was very popular.
I like this as a concept, but the scientists refer to 1006 using he/him, so it's unlikely he was intended to be a bb of a female character
Just a theory, you know how we find Poppy in a deep sleep in chapter one? Maybe CatNap put her to sleep.
This is actually explained in a different one of historical videos, and he agrees with those though thinks maybe it wasn't just catnap and maybe the entirety of the critters (or at least whoever was alive) did it
@@LemonsMyLoveno, you can see that's catnap's gás, and there also no reason the other critters would try to put Poppy to sleep when they're on their side.
1006 sounds like it has or the person used had military training. elliot would be old enough to have been born around one of world wars and or served. deep trama setting out his need to make children smile.
5:24 Nothing in any of the radio logs or documents suggest that the police's presence was due to neighbor's concerns - Elliot was already dead in the ground before the police found the body. There's no reason for police to investigate the home of a dead man based on neighbors reporting his old suspicious behavior. The recordings mentioning the neighbors' comments about his strange schedule are in response to the inquiries of either reporters or investigators AFTER the body was already found. Most likely, whoever inherited the estate found the body and called the police.
Yeah, it says that the body was found on the estate of the *late* Elliot Ludwig.
I do definitely think Catnap's sharp realization was a mercy, but maybe not one he anticipated. It's gonna be interesting seeing 1006 in Chapter 4. And the lore too. I can imagine he's protecting them somehow, maybe having even transferred them to give them a sort of eternal youth? Let's also not forget "Sleep Well", I can't tell if they intended both uploads as story, but definitely the Mob Games one. The CG5 one looks to be more as you're playing. So that's very interesting, and whatever gets revealed is gonna be big.
Just a thought that popped into my head while watching this, what if Harley Sawyer was turned into Poppy?
I know Poppy is a female doll, but that doesn't mean the person turned into her had to originally of been female.
If we are sticking to the theory that Poppy is manipulating us, that could also possibly allude to it being Sawyer, with how he also manipulated and lied to get to his position and take control of the factory.
Plus is was Sawyer who started using the Poppy Gas, that kept the orphans asleep and plagued them with nightmares.
Exactly how Poppy was when we found her, asleep in a case filled with the Poppy Gas.
What if Harley Sawyer was spared from dying in The Hour Of Joy, so he could suffer a worse fate?
We already know 1006 (At this point believed to be Elliot.) is highly intelligent and knows how the transformation process works.
I think 1006 spared Sawyer, turned him into Poppy and locked them within the Gas filled case to live the rest of their life as the creations he hated, trapped in a case and plagued with nightmares.

I've still got a theory that Elliott is Poppy. I think he was put into Poppy right before the Hour of Joy by 1006 so he'd be forced to survive in a glass box of gas giving him perpetual nightmares for a decade. I think the Poppy doll was reserved for his child, but he didn't make it in time- and that's the incident that incited the change from safety to desperate urgency. I think putting Ludwig in the Poppy doll reserved for his child in the model house meant to keep them safe, but turning it into a prison of a constant living nightmare of starvation without the reprieve of death was revenge. I think that's why 1006 hasn't attacked us, and why some toys are on his side and some toys like Kissy are on Poppy's. I think Kissy was a that bubbly staff member (Stella Greyber?) who is trying to help Ludwig end the torture of the remaining staff while 1006 has functionally enslaved the kids by promising eternal joy for hunting down the staff.
Catnap assuming his “praised be” pose to 1006’s hand, b4 getting stabbed in the face, still makes me flinch. 🥺 & ur Poppy animation @ 1:39 is on point. 🥲
I think Rich is the player's character. Both gruff enough to deal with the violence and yet compassionate enough to break into the abandoned factory in hope to save his coworkers. Rich also would know the orphans but not be in position to know what happened to them. He would understand the use of all the machines the player uses because he himself works with machines and yet requires instruction because he has not seen them before.
There are couple points that weren’t mentioned here that actually lend some credence to this theory…
For instance, Bron’s consciousness transfer ended with him losing half his mind, meaning some of his memories and higher brain functions might not be working so well. This might explain why all the other transfers became so much more unhinged than how one would imagine children would act. It also might explain why 1006 (The Prototype) might have acted antithetical to his original beliefs as his mind warps and twists.
Also, the relevance of poppies is also mentioned in an in-game report written by one of the scientists, where the scientist ASSURES the reader that the secret for bringing to the dead back to life “lies within poppy flowers”. So while they may be connected to war, there’s at least someone in-game who believes that can be used to return a dead body to life. Much like Elliot was trying to do.
So yeah… maybe Elliot really was the helpful type. After all, you can’t spell “Elliot” without “Ollie”, and we all know how helpful he’s been to our character.

My theory: Poppy and 1006 are playing the long con together. They took positions at the head of opposing factions of the remaining toys to manipulate all of them, and theyre playing the good guy bad guy routine to keep you moving, but in the end every toy Poppy gets you to kill makes 1006 stronger
Fact: No one said 1006 was an adult before he got experimented on
Theory: 'Ollie's voice in the game (which we believe is 1006) is that of a child-not a voice he heard but a voice that was his. HIS voice before he got experimented on. Also, IF, on the 0.001% chance that 1006 WAS a kid, his name may have actually been Ollie

I have a theory, what if the reason Elliot attacks ppl as the prototype is because like Thomas who suffered amnesia when he was put into his bigger body, Elliot lost his memory of who he was, still keeping his intellect and some of his ideals like poppy as his daughter though not being able to remember, he prolly felt he had some connection to her and since he forgot his memories his mind might’ve snapped explaining why he was so violent and also killed other toys.
Tericho! Something I realized while regoing through poppy play time 2, is something that supports your theory about the memory game trying to use words and phrases to desensitize the children to violent matters is at the end when the game malfunctions for a moment you can hear the word "massacre"
21:46 what doesn't make sense is in chapter 3 Poppy said the Prototype will kill us if we try to escape. So I am not sure if Prototype wants us to leave.
What if we (the player) were a close friends of Elliot’s before he became the prototype and the reason the prototype doesn’t hurt us specifically is because we were the only one who stuck to his plan of helping children and he reason we weren’t there from the hour of joy was maybe the person who was put in Elliot’s place had an issue and wanted the player gone from the company and the reason the toys hate us is because they don’t realise the player isn’t like the other employees and attack him to ‘save’ the prototype because the toys loved Elliot and want to protect him

HI, EVEN THO THIS IS OLD VID, I ACTUALLY LIKE THIS YOUR ideas and theory. It makes sence in its own way!!
I agree with your theory of Elliot being the Prototype and here is why he killed the entire staff. When Playtime co was in financial trouble the Dr offered the Bigger bodies initiative as a solution but using toys. We have to assume that Elliot was still alive at this time, before any of this however we have to consider Poppy. Poppy is most likely his child however being like some of the other toys, she did not remember who she was and almost likely became evil. Elliot became aware of this but still kept her around and kept an eye on her. It’s also worth noting that he must have been the one to have locked her in the box to stop her. The Dr and several other employees most likely knew this and when they suggested it, Elliot said no. He did not want to experiment on any of the children as that was not what his company was and he did not want to repeat his mistake with Poppy again. The company took action into their own hands and most likely killed him and then killed and planted a child in his house to throw the blame on him. After that he becomes the Prototype and he remembers what has happened and becomes highly aggressive towards the staff except the children. He even goes as far as rescuing Theo from death by abandoning his escape plan for the children showing that he really does care about children. After the Hour of joy he decides to keep the children here as by letting them out would raise a lot of questions, but he also knew that Poppy was most likely evil and may have possibly have been in cahoots with the company to experiment on the children. Poppy possible main goal is to kill him, retake control of the factory and continue the experiments hence why we come in. As for Huggy, Mommy and Catnap I don’t think they are entirely evil, the most possible reason for them being aggressive towards us is because they are guarding the Prototype and know why we are here. They are like the giants from Shadow of the Colossus protecting the main villain by stopping those who have been tricked by him. And that is why I think the Prototype is good.

Stella could be the Poppy that we freed. But there’s a wrinkle to this theory aside from Stella was still alive after Poppy was made, is that if she was somehow forced to go under the scientific process like Portal 2 or Bioshock then the name on her office should’ve been replace. Because Playtime Co. have to hire someone to be the Head Of Playcare, and if they did then her name should’ve been replace with someone else. Someone might say that it was happened near the Hour Of Joy but in the orientation notebook P.W mentioned about a room with the Poppy doll and Stella was still in the Department Head’s page so I don’t think it Stella but I can see some connection with this to Portal and Bioshock

If it's Elliott, it's possible that his time *_AS_* The Prototype has warped his perception of things. His desire to have a complete family (which doubtless is the hole in his heart that drove him to such extremes in the first place) in addition to his now incomplete body could bleed together, with Mommy's comments at the end of episode 2 being a moment of clarity on her part: Elliott is "making a family" by literally incorporating the broken, damaged entities in the factory into himself. At that point its not necessarily him doing something intentionally malicious, his own brand of inanity is simply clouding his judgement and perception of reality

what if the boys body found on Elliots property was Ollie before he got (presumably) turned into a toy (IF ollie isnt the prototype of course)
The prototype had Catnap ferry the children someplace safe deep in the factory during the hour of joy. This is explained in a VHS tape in miss delight's schoolhouse, the children were held away from both the workers and the experiments in order to prevent them from becoming casualties in the hour of joy.
As Tericho mentioned, what if the only reason the prototype is just an arm, is because the rest of him was used to replicate the transference process. If that is the case, with him taking the bodies of the fallen toys, is he taking them so that they cannot be replicated by someone else and is destroying them. Rather than saving them as Tericho points out, what if he is trying to make sure that nobody ever has to be trapped in a toy ever again and suffer as they have.
this is probably one of the best and fleshed out theories I've ever heard throughout RUclips. Never heard about Poppy and Gasses related to wars from other Poppy Playtime theorists. I'm glad I found this channel
An off the wall possibility is that there's a supernatural angle here since the research notes in Part 1 and Part 2 make references to the occult. Harvey Sawyer may not be human after all but an entity that Elliot managed to nick the secret of resurrection from by occult means (possibly to resurrect the child who is now Poppy) and now 'Harvey' is engineering the entire downfall of Playcare to make Elliot give it back 'willingly' because there's no other way.
Step 1 was for Playtime Co to make a deal with a literal devil after Elliot's sacrifice. This is a horror game after all.
The Prototype may have killed Catnap out of mercy. We are oh-so capable and Capnap was going to die anyway, sooner or later, so once we proved that we indeed could kill Capnap, the Prototype moved in to grant him a quicker death.
I don’t get why he is trying to explain why the prototype killed catnap. Told is in the game that the prototype is like a god to CATnap and that he saved him and now catnap is willing to die for him.
The biggest question to me is that... Why did they create the prototype? What was his purpose gonna be in the game? remember, prototype means a mockup or an example of something... Unless I'm wrong about 1006! But overall, I'm interested to hear more about 1006 in the game :]
I think Chapter 3 actually tells us who the prototype is: Remember when we hear about the remains of a child being found in the Ludwig home? That child is missing organs and bones, and the Prototype is the only toy we’ve seen that outright has bones as part of its structure. I think if I were a grieving father trying to bring my child back to life that’s who would end up inside the first successful prototype. And keep in mind the prototype seems to be different than the other toys, while the others were created to serve PlayCare the Prototype was obviously created with the ability to manipulate objects and if I’m right was created as a replacement body. One that’s quite slapdash, but it’s also his first attempt. Normally one would want to do tests on other subjects first, but the child was already dead, the clock was ticking and even with the Poppy mixture preserving the remains Elliot had to move before the child became too decayed to transfer. My thought is he waited too long as it was, and the prototype’s violent nature comes from the child’s brain having decayed. On the other hand I think Poppy is Elliot. Poppy is the one who has said repeatedly that the situation at the factory is her fault, something that I would expect of Elliot, the person who caused this. In addition Poppy seems to have been the first toy Elliot created, she’s so integral to the company he created she’s the mascot character, in the same way Mickey Mouse is the mascot character of Disney.
Then again there’s a non-zero chance they hit us with a plot twist that Poppy was the prototype all along. We’ve never seen both on screen at the same time.
If this theory turns out to be the truth in history, I'm going to feel really bad if we kill the prototype. 😢
Although combining all this with player confused memories makes me hopeful that 1006 will eventually reveal everything to player.

Personally I feel like the player IS the prototype reflecting on their actions and choices, going from the beginning where it’s clean but suspicious down to the bloody and horrifying moments
At the bottom of the elevator it would reveal the culmination of all his decisions and finally coming to terms with what he has become
Using this as a means to cure children makes perfect sense. It also makes sense as to why the scent of the poppy flower and derivatives of it were used. In the 1930s, one of the most popular pain relievers was morphine. Morphine is made from opium which comes from the poppy flower. A terminal child would’ve been fed this continuously so that passing on would be less painful.
I also want to add CatNap’s death was a clear mercy killing. He was so badly burned and most certainly terrified after being electrocuted TWICE in his very young life. Repairs
May not have been feasible. Perhaps 1006 felt that a quick end would be better than to leave CatNap suffering and in fear.
I've been stuck on the Ludwig as the Prototype theory since at least chapter 2. It does make a LOT of sense. I'm excited to see more, has there been any rumours or updates about Ch 4 yet?
Ok I’ve watched the whole video and I think a lot is valid. But I’ve been out of the theory community due to personal rl issues (my parents passed away) so I’ve only seen the gameplay. I thought it was obvious that the last bit was a call back to poor Theo’s original fate and just the prototype showing him mercy? Can someone explain what the point of him just offing him would be? And we’re actually the ones who keep killing everyone. I don’t recall seeing the prototype ever kill any of the toys. I thought chapter 3 was about finally humanizing not just the prototype but ALL the toys. We’ve believed they were kids since chapter one, but the player considers them enemies and slaughters them. I thought this chapter was to really make it hit home that WE ARE ALSO killing humans, just like the prototype did in The Hour of Joy and to make it apparent that WE are very much like the prototype and that people in desperate situations do desperate things. Wasn’t it meant to show us and remind us that we aren’t necessarily the good guy and that WE have a lot in common with the “bad guys”?
And I’m not sure we ARE a guy. WHY weren’t we at the hour of joy? Did we get a tip? From whom? And the only reason I think we would have survived to this point is because the prototype cares for us. IF 1006 IS Ludwig, we’ve only seen that he REALLY cares for three women: his daughter, his wife, and Stella. I don’t think we’re Stella, but I ALSO am not yet convinced WE are human. The point was to get the toys out. Maybe we’re the one who DID and that’s why we weren’t there? He’s never tried to take us out and he’s had MANY chances. BUT, if we were a toy, that contains someone he loves, he wouldn’t be trying to kill us. We have never been shown to be a HUMAN body in the game.
I think GT is wrong. I don’t think 1006 is Rich and I honestly think that’s a kinda dumb take (I hope this doesn’t age like milk lol). Rich has no reason to not kill us right off for causing trouble. Who are we to him? No one. Why would he let us go all the time?
Nope. I still think, just like I have since chapter one, that we are ourselves a toy and we’re someone that 1006 cares/cared about. It’s the only reason I can see for the “enemy” to not immediately kill off their opponent at the first opportunity.
And as a side note, I think it’s interesting that 1006 is a patchwork of bodies and Theo/Catnap, his first “friend” after his change, is also made of sewn together parts when all the other toys, while after all this time looking kinda scrappy, still have that magic look of perfection. No seams and the like. I have no idea if that means anything or if it’s just a fun little thing the game makers put in. But if I see another patchwork creature, I’m going to be REAL SUS about it 😂

I don't think the earlier toys need to eat. Boxy was the first that needed to eat. There is more of a difference between the Toys that have EYES and the ones that do not.
There is a reason BRON was attacked and was the only toy to ever be attacked Bron didn't need to eat. I think Bron was Elliots last time helping to save someones life.
Some of them have teeth, and some of them don't also. Dogday, Kissy, catnap and poppy do not have teeth..I think Huggy was altered. Notice he has two rows of teeth.
My point for this post was notice that their are differences between toys some of them might seem like design choices but i dont think they are.

Eliot died after the creation of CatNap, and Theo was friends with the prototype so Eliot being the prototype makes no sence
Interesting that you bring up the theme of war into the factor. I knew that Elliot was at least alive and for around that time, as well as the Great Depression. If this is the case, then this has got to be the most tragic villain to date.
I have a theory. If Ludwig is the prototype, maybe the prototype was angry because the children that were being experimented were being hurt and he decided to get revenge- 🧐🧐🧐🧐

Rich has to be the prototype man, he cared for the children, had a temper, and his intelligence has never been shown though. He was also most likely getting a promotion, meaning he would see what was really happening to the children in the playcare

That would be an absolute major twist no one would see and explain even further why he was locked up by the others and wanting to destroy 1006, because 1006 is his child and he can't stand what 1006 has become, being the first and opening the door to the grotesque fact of this story, kids were being made slaves, so it went psycho, and why Poppy didn't during the Hour of Joy🕵️
Makes even more sense why the door was marked with warnings long after all the staff was killed, Poppy truly is the original orchestrator of all this pain and suffering and 1006 wanted to stop it along with Poppy, so "they" locked him up🕵️

🕵️1006 probably couldn't kill them outright anyway they're likely way more powerful and far more mobile then 1006 . 1006 is the precursor, likely not to have the same abilities as all the rest, not to mention a fully functional body. I bet 1006 has become the A.I. of the place, exactly as Portal and Bioshock had, and is keeping the Evils locked up until someone can help destroy them. That's why it can only reach out and grab them once they're near dead and why 1006 always knows where you are, it is the mind within the machine.🕵️
Clearly 1006 orchestrated the Hour of Joy but that was to wipe out "The Process", not totality to the whole situation.
1006 Is considered a God because it literally is the mastermind behind all the facility, just not mobile enought to engage with the enemy head to head🕵️
And Poppy is the Father trying to correct his mistakes. 1006 knows this and wants to help. I bet the close to this will be 1006 giving himself to Poppy as the ultimate sacrifice to end it once and for all

the only thing that confuses me about rich being the prototype, is that huggy wuggy seems to have been created after the prototype (1984 i think) and becuase of its sucsess, they made the bigger body version. but in the first tape, rich spoke about needing huggy boxes. if they were already mass producing them, it seems unlikley for rich to be the prototype, or he wouldnt be around for the huggy boxes.
im basing this off the idea that the prototype was made before the idea of huggy wuggy. maybe im wrong but?
In this theory I am talking about Elliott being the prototype, but also just because the *bigger bodies* versions of toys were created at certain dates, doesn't mean the smaller ones weren't being made before.
The Prototype did address itself as "Us". Could it be that both Ludwig AND the diseased family member were put into the new body?
This is probably because the Prototype incorporates deceased toys into his body, viewing himself as a collective consciousness.
@brandonwalters4327 That's a valid point. Maybe they aren't deceased, or at least all of them. The followers get to have input and be a part of something greater, but they don't get to drive the bus.
But then, why would he let Catnap torture Dogday? I think it’s a splendid theory, but if that has to work, why would Elliot let that happen? If Dogday was an ex-staff that didn’t want anything good for the children, then I can see why. But even then, Poppy got to sleep, why didn’t he? it goes against all of his morales. He let Poppy live by sleeping. Why didn’t he do that to the other bigger bodies who were against his plan? He could’ve easily asked Catnap not to do that and just use his gas. You could argue it’s because they were conditioned to eat human flesh and Catnap had a taste for killing after The Hour of Joy; and if knowing Dogday was a staff member who was against the plan, perhaps Catnap would reason that it’s okay to do so. Where are the children? Catnap says they are safe, but "safe" can mean several things. A bag of broccoli is safe in my freezer right now. There is no food down here anymore.

My personal theory is ollie being the child on Elliot Ludwig’s property and that elliot had an affair(😂 I know stay with me) with someone at playtime co which explains the divorce he went through and the guy on the tape defending him as a good man also explains why ollie and poppy seem to get along both sharing the ludwig genes though they are now toys(assumably with ollie)
Also with Elliot’s passing I believe there was an experimentation between elliot nd 1006 maybe giving the prototype the will of elliot in wanting the orphans to be happier I lost myself somewhere through this nd might be reaching but yeah
With everything presented so far, 1006 at best is an antagonist of necessity, since the real villains are likely dead or just haven't shown up yet. The activities in the factory were so evil that potential whistleblowers knew they'd be as good as dead if they ever did so. I agree 1006 potentially being Elliot tracks. He hates what the factory has become and wants nothing more than to see it destroyed. The true villains in this story are the background players like Sawyer, Pierre and everyone else using the factory to accomplish their own selfish goals, sacrificing people for their bottom line. The biggest evidence IMO so far is the lack of information about Elliot and his activities during the worst time of the factory. And I agree that CatNap's death is very much a mercy kill.
I really hope Poppy isn't the "villain" though. If she is Stella, I understand her wanting 1006 stopped because of how dangerous he is, and how much of a monster he's become. While a lot of people in the factory probably deserved their deaths, hundreds if not thousands of innocent people just trying to put in 8 hours and go home died too. People entirely unaware of the truly sinister activities of their company. If she wants revenge for them, I don't blame her.
I really liked this theory, but I think there’s still some missing pieces. Since the prototype was created before all the bigger bodies, Harley sawyer knew about making them. So I think Harley sawyer wanted something different from the prototype..
I don't think Ludwig is the Prototype. As logical as the theory might sound, Ludwig is stated to have died, which didn't happen until after Mommy Long Legs was made, well after 1006's creation (meaning he was most likely aware of, and turned a blind eye to, the sadistic motives of the other higher-ups). This is shown through a drawing in, I think, his office that is addressed directly to him. The image depicts a child in the game station with Mommy's arm snaking through the catwalk. I think that Tom and the Game Theory team might be onto something. They're the only one's I've seen who've even acknowledged Rich (The seemingly random grumpy guy who has shown up in one tape in every game so far) beyond mentioning his tapes in a breakdown. They posed the idea that he may be 1006 based on what we get from his tapes. Personally, if not the Prototype, I still think Rich is important.
I think Rich is important but not the prototype. He was never shown to be that intelligent. He was working in a manual labour role in chapter 1, then in the island of misfit toys in chapter 2. In chapter 3 he still seemed to be moving stock around, he has never been shown to be creative in any way.
Sure they could go back on that later, but right now there is only one link to Rich being 1006, his anger, while Elliot has FAR more links.
As much as I really enjoyed that theory, right now Elliot makes much more sense.
Of course I am not saying stock movement couldn't be intelligent, but if he were so creative then why wasn't he working for innovation instead of on the factory floor?
@@Tericho ( Edited for more context) And I was fully on board with the "Elliot is 1006" theory, until GT pointed out that a drawing made personally for Ludwig showed an experiment that shouldn't exist yet if he became the Prototype. He can't be 1006 if he was still human at the time of Mommy Long Legs' creation ( if he had died or been reported to have died by then, why would the kids be encouraged to make drawings for a dead man?), because as you said yourself, the Prototype was the first deliberate and successful study and experimentaion of putting a human in a toy's body. Boxy Boo, Huggy, Kissy, Mommy and the other Bigger Bodies came after 1006. Rich might not be 1006, but I simply can't be convinced at this point that Elliot is, either. I also wouldn't say that Rich's temper is his only connection to 1006. In both his first and most recent tapes, he expresses sympathy for the kids, showing that he has a soft spot for them. He softens up in tape 1 when he says "It's for the orphans," and one of the first things he says to Stu in tape 3 is his opinion that the children shouldn't live in a fabricated environment. If he did get that promotion, he may have discovered the experiments being done, found the suggestion to start using the kids, and started trying to shut the idea down. When Playtime Co found out he planned to take action, they chose to use him in their experiments to silence him, killing two birds with one stone and creating 1006 in the process. The theory that Rich is 1006 is currently based on mostly circumstantial evidence, yes, but there is actual proof that Elliot is not.
Did the prototype exist when Playcare was opened? Elliot announces it to us, and as far as I know it was staffed by Bigger Bodies. Would that rule out Ludwig and maybe even Rich as candidates for the prototype?
It would make sense although it still doesn't fully answer the question on who asked us to come back to the factory or if the protag is completely innocent or not because I'll be real a majority of the staff had no idea these experiments we even going on and then when they did try to look into it or expose it they got killed either by playtime co or in the Hour of Joy and I'm not sure if the character we play is a part of that crowd that killed the children to turn them into toys or was a part of the crowd that didn't know and now being called back to the factory is finding out the hard and painful way. And if they are innocent I don't think they even wanted to kill Huggy, Mommy Longlegs, or burn Catnap. They wanted to kill us although Huggy was delayed and even gave the protag the keys to get in so I have no idea if we are the true villains or not. Same goes for Poppy and Prototype I don't know who's truly good or truly evil here just a bunch of morally gray characters just trying to survive.
But "bringing joy to children" and then to kill Catnap when he could save him makes no sense, if now Catnap and the other bigger body's where children. I realize that the "putting" into the toys makes them "not as they used to be" BUT the core of the person should be the same no?
The only reason why I disagree with this whole theory is because the prototype killed Catnap/Theo, even if he was an experiment, he was still essentially a kid....
Game theory made a vid about it so I’m gonna summarise it.
Piece in death. As evident by the death quotes “these children deserve peace” so I think that the prototype is killing them to make sure that someone else might potentially take advantage of them and repeat the process

When Catnap knelled before the prototype killed him it came off as a "You're here to save me again?" as opposed to a sacrifice...
Idk if I'm just looking too deep into it or what, but prototype isn't the good guy here, I don't believe that the player is either... I think it will lead up to freeing the survivors and the player will ultimately be killed... But that's a whole other theory...

Taking in account the vhs tape of Elliot talking to catnap, after Theo had been converted, i cant see a reason to how Elliot could possibly be the prototype as he and catnap reference the prototype in this vhs. It can be found inside the first tent in the playhouse.

this would make perfect sense if 1006 who is Elliot did indeed turn the surviving kids into toys in the lab after the hour of joy wich explains how they are saved, and we could encounter them (maybe as robots or actual toys who knows)
tho i don't think 1006 is fully good (remember in the ARG there was an email from Elliot to someone saying "one of those dang huggies is loose" if he was the first then how will this fit?) , this theory makes the most sense, for now
