It is very interesting. I have watched the 2 others videos of the serie and I really appreciate this teaching about Bonhoeffer on his book about his letters in prison. I love Bonhoeffer, I have 2 of his books, including the one on discipleship . And I ordered this book of Letters in French (because I am à French speaking person living in Québec, Canada). So, thank you for this series, pastor Lars, I will continue to watch it with great interest and pleasure.
These videos are wonderful as I re-read Ethics in preparation for a sermon on Romans 13 and critiquing the American Evangelical nostalgia for Christendom.
Lars makes many excellent points. I don’t agree with everything he says but my disagreement is outweighed by the many points I agree with. I have often wondered myself why , to quote Harper Lee in To Kill a Mockingbird “Christians are too busy worrying about the next life to live this life “ or something like that- meaning - how do we live this life as Christians without focusing obsessively on the next life ? How do we simply enjoy life and live with joy not guilt and anxiety about sin ?
My Lutgern Pastor is very schooled on Diedrich Bonhoefer. I think whatever was said by him . Either went over my head or I just considered it Jibberish. I do get the idea that Luther and Dietrich Bonhoefer were very different people.
Aren't Prisoners like Banyan & Bon'ffer a World's apart just as God's intended us Inventively Designers unlike the Strung up Stage Artists else Ventriloquists. Another Confessionist than an Augustinian in solemn action?!
