I agree I Love Hoyas as well. Mine all bloom once they reach about a year and a half to two years . I never fertilize them but I do give them some fresh soil in early spring🌸
Just getting into hoya. I'm really appreciating their slow growth and the fact that I can buy a small starter plant and not need to up pot it for a couple years. I've got a ton of pothos and philodendrons, which need to be repotted every year.
My niece just gave me som Hoyas to root. I really enjoy watching my plants grow and change. Ì did not have any Hoyas. You have given me so much helpful information. My Hoyas will be thankful I watched your videos. I have seen new growth and roots. It is so exciting. Thank you.
I feel the same but, I need to know more before I kill mine. Right now 2 of my Hoyas have mealy bugs. I used cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol and a ready-made pest spray.
Your positivity will make me a Hoya person! I've had one since lock down in 2020 and it's just not doing great so I decided to do some research and your video is awesome! Thank you!
I water mine about twice a week. Mine are in south facing windows in terracotta. They can dry out within a day depending on the size. Mine grow startlingly fast seasonally, and then are completely doormat after their growing season.
This was absolutely on spot. I loved it. My favorite Hoya is the Bella. It got a bloom last fall that disappeared when I replanted it. I had to repot cause it was tipping over every time it got the slightest dry. The soil had become hydrophobic. So it blasted. Now I have mealies on it. I haven’t seen them on others but I’ve got others to add systemic granules into the closest plants.
Great information as always. I have the most luck with propagating when I use soil. I don’t even put them in a prop box. Just plant the cuttings in small, clear plastic punch cups that I burn holes into. They are small enough to propagate in but large enough to let the plant grow for a while in them. I love watching the roots grow. They fit perfectly in some coffee mugs I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby 😀
My favorite Hoya right now is my Sunrise. It’s got a couple of Peduncles on it. I just ordered Hoya Krohniana Super Silver. Can’t wait to receive some plant mail.
Personal experience, Hoyas are propagated extremely well in Perlite. I have tried obovata, pubycalyx, krohniana, krimson queen, fishtail, Australis Lisa, and latifolia albo. All worked fantastically!
I just got my first Hoya today and I already love it! It’s got these pretty variegated leaves in pink, green and white, and supposedly it will flower someday. I can hardly wait! You have one just like mine and I’m wondering if you know what it’s called?
I think I have 15 Hoyas but five are unrooted or rooted cuttings. I really love Hoyas. What I did was got an “easy” Hoya cutting box. It was a mystery cuttings.
Hi! I love Hoyas too! One little point for you: Hoya is not a species name, but the name of a genus of plants containing many species. It's very hot where I live, and succulents can get burned on my deck, but not Hoyas. They can really take the sun. Thanks!
@@BotanicalBrunette totally! I got the advice to do it from like some plant RUclipsr (idk who) and my Hoya obavata gave me the prettiest little spray of flowers a few weeks back. Heard they're hard to bloom. My chroniana super silver is putting out buds, too!
I think I’ve ever only seen the Wayetii in variegated form and never really been attracted to it - I LOVE the all green version though! I don’t own any Hoya yet, but I have several on my wishlist 🥰
Such a hard question 😅but the Hoya Carnosa Freckles is probably one of my favorite one. I currently added Hoya Joy and Chinhungensis (spelling?) to my wish list
Hi ! Just found your channel! Wondering if you can help me with a Hoya issue. Due to a container mixup, I accidentally watered it with rubbing alcohol instead of water ugh! . I rinsed the soil through right away with water a couple of times But not sure if this helped clear it out. What should I do? Is this a lost cause? It's been a few weeks and she doesn't look healthy
First timer here, love your content! Which Hoya is in the salsa container? I don't think I've seen that type before and liked it🤔 I have a Wayettei, pubicaylix and 3 others...I never really liked them now I'm totally into them🤣💚
My Hoya's are over 100 years old. They were my grandmother then my mother's and now mine. They have beautiful pink flowers all the time. I love them
@@shellichurch5321 how often do you water them? I've heard conflicting info
I mean this could not have come at a better time. Watching this as I open my delivery of 6 new Hoyas😅😊
Six?!? Omg congrats on your new Hoyas 👏😊🌿

The Bella is such a pretty Hoya. Hope the systemic helps with the mealies 🫣
@@BotanicalBrunette me too!! I’m spraying with rubbing alcohol too. I’ll repeat it weekly for a total of four weeks.
Thanks for the Hoya info. I inherited one, broad green leaves, and it needs repotting so I found you for info. Thank you

I always forget about the power of soil propagation. I need to play wit it some more.
@@BotanicalBrunette I have a pretty full 3” pot of Curtisii that I started as soon as I got my big plant. That thing rooted up super fast.

I am going to receive my first cutting so I would love it if you could explain the perlite propagation. Please and thank you

It does make them bloom. My linearis is crazy when it blooms

Hi ya!! What boys is that on minute 6 please? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
What if some yellow leaves?
❤
Hoya Carnosa for me. Their scent fills my bedroom. Especially if the window is open.
I am on my second curtsii and half of it is dead and the other half is thriving. The first one died. Not sure how to keep them going.
You say about 3 on the meter with humidity
My Hoya is one little tiny leaf with a stem and some roots. I’ve had it for a year and it will not grow. Send help 😂
