The sword in Japan is not merely a weapon, it is a sublime piece of functional art, with deep spiritual and historical significance to the Japanese people. Just like Mount Fuji and Cherry Blossoms, the Japanese sword is an enduring symbol of Japan. It is my hope to share my love and passion for Japanese swords with all of you here on RUclips and make the Japanese sword accessible to the world by introducing the Japanese sword to new audi-ences from a Japanese perspective. That is why I created this Channel for the promotion and preservation of Japanese swords and related craftsmen.
Please subscribe to The Japanese Sword RUclips channel to never miss a video!

Have really been enjoying your channel Paul. Thank you.
I have a katana that my Norwegian grandfather found in Soviet Russia about 1919-1920 while on his travels to Germany to go to university... it was then Dad's, and he then passed it on to be mine. Following your video, I've measured everything, and am continuing to try to find as much information on my katana's history as I can. A Happy New Year to you from Eastern Canada.

I'm guessing you've been up to Yahiko Jinja in Niigata to see a couple of the big ones they have in their museum?

    二千有余年、深い日本の歴史🇯🇵を理解できるのは、精神的な高みがなければ成し得ないと思います。文化も言語も違う国から、日本🇯🇵と日本人の精神性をご理解いただけるとは素晴らしいことです。
