      Every coach has bad moments. Ngl those tush pushes pissed me off too and had I considered this immediately after then I'd probably agree with you. But the best time for something like this is right now while considering the season as a whole and not riding any highs or lows. He started out with a 13-4 record and probably gets past the Giants with a competent defensive coordinator. Last year was just a bad season all around but KOC definitely shows promise. 5 years from now KOC could be a top 5 HC contingent upon a few things

      Hot take: we overrate Tomlin. I get that never having a losing season is an impressive accomplishment, but Tomlin has consistently wasted Hall of Fame talent and was carried to his Super Bowls by the previous regime’s players. Listen to any Steelers fan and they will tell you that Tomlin isn’t as good of coach that he’s nationally made out to be. Vikings fans roundly criticized KOC hiring Ed Donatell, but at least he quickly realized his mistake. Tomlin has hired terrible OC after terrible OC and keeps them on for multiple years.

    I don't even understand these bins. "Kiss the Super Bowl ring" bin, and "Young QB Whisperers" bin? The Young QB Whisperer bin is supposed to be better? Then the "Better than people give them credit for" bin is 3 bins lower than KOC's bin? A guy who has proven absolutely nothing, and gets way more credit than he deserves? That's the bin KOC should be in, "Hasn't proven anything but people still think he's amazing for some reason" bin, or the "Doesn't seem to know what he's doing on offense but is still considered an offensive guru" bin, or maybe even the "Doesn't know how to design a screen play" bin, which would be below the "Better than people give them credit for" bin.

    KOC a top 10 coach right now.....no. That said, I think his ceiling is pretty high. He had an inaugural season where everything fell into place perfectly, and a sophomore season that saw major injuries to his best player and starting QB. I thought KOC made more in-game coaching mistakes in year 2, but he also moved on from Donatell quickly and bringing in Flores was a great hire. Players clearly like him, but the best coaches aren't necessarily the most well liked. The Bill Belichick and the Pete Carroll approaches can both work. I think KOC has a chance to be very good and maybe better than that.

    • @drewengel7073
      @drewengel7073 3 месяца назад

      Tomlin is the HC equivalent of Kirk Cousins, a perpetual pull towards mediocrity. Peyton and Pederson have both had complete trainwrecks that presided over, which were their fault. Taylor and McCarthy are carried by great QBs, but Taylor has some promise. Both Pederson and Sirianni just oversaw two of the worst season collapses in NFL history. Quinn is a choke artist; 28-3 did happen under his watch. McDaniel doesn't know how to coach a full season. Bowles had his disastrous Jets tenure and won the NFC South. Daboll had one good year, and unlike KOC, he can't blame bad luck for his problems.
      My list to KOC would be:
      1. Reid

      As a Vikings/Bengals fan, I can tell you that KOC is way better than Zac Taylor. Zac is constantly bailed out by talent, mainly Joe Burrow, while KOC can make Josh Dobbs look like a good QB for two weeks.

    Longevity, playoff wins, Super Bowl appearances and Super Bowl wins play a factor. Without a single playoff victory. I can’t justify ranking KOC above any of these coaches. Demeco Ryans is high based on the train wreck that was the Texans and he turned them around in a single season. He could drop or rise drastically on the list depending on what he does this year. I feel 14 is a good spot for him.

      Knows how to cut losses and learn from failure? I guess that's why he stuck with Mattison all year, and kept throwing Dobbs out there.
