Your version definitely removes suspicion compared to the original way of doing the trick. Now i just need to practice the overhand so i can actually do it 😆

Definitely not a very easy thing to do, took me a while to get it down properly and consistently

Thanks so much - you actually mean it when you say, ‘self-working!’
Great to have the easy and the modified version.
Another beginner idea that doesn’t involve a peak: use a stack (eg si stebbens). Can’t shuffle but at least the spectator can cut as much as they want (you peak the bottom and work out the 22nd card)
This turns it into a prediction trick.
    Just another beginner alternative.
Also - with my, or either of your versions...you can also give the spectator a choice: ‘who do you want to end up with the card?’
You then get them to deal starting with the magician or themselves, as appropriate

Great input! Although I feel like it may be difficult for a beginner to remember a stack and be able to calculate 22 cards ahead. I think having the spectator choose who gets the card at the end is very interesting, the only thing is making sure that they don’t make a connection between who gets the card and who is dealt to first

I wonder if you could let the spectator deal to whoever they want to first (magician or themselves), and you as the magician could use a force to keep their card in play. It might start to seem obvious at some point, but it gives them the illusion of control and adds in more of the impossibility factor. This is a really good trick though!

Definitely a good idea, you should try it out and let us know how it goes!

After bringing the selected card to position 11 using your first phase, it can be brought to position 22 with a Faro shuffle.

This is very true. Sadly a faro shuffle is a right bitch to perform lol

Definitely a good idea, but having a faro shuffle look like a normal “messy” type of shuffle is not easy

Discovered this in Royal Road a while ago and love it. Great tutorial and a very nice addition with the overhand shuffle 👍

@@CardMechanic Your videos actually inspired me to make a video of my own of ways to control their selection to the 22nd position. Really liked seeing an alternative to the method in the book 👍😊
