I named my daughter Calypso after John and Jacques Cousteau. They were pioneers of environmentalism, scientific research and preservation of endangered animals. John and Jacques, you live on and we will continue to remember & honor you and everything you have done for environmentalism and for our planet.
If you would have ever meet John he was a great person. I posted my meeting him a long time ago under Rocky Mountain High from Wildlife concert...I'm 65 and still tear up watching these Wildlife videos. I only imagine John leading a chorus of angles singing Rocky Mountain High . Miss you JD.
I always loved his music. Denver’s time with the Muppets had a huge impact on my granddaughter. That child watched his cds everyday. She would tell me turn John Member and the Muppets on 😆 She would sing right along with him. She has sung all of her life. School programs, Church leader, Contests, weddings and for pure joy of singing. John Denver was her very first music teacher and was the best start for her.
I understand how he felt when he sang those words. Due to health issues, I had to leave the backwoods of the beautiful West Kentucky hillsides, to live in this dirty city in in South Texas. I am now a prisoner in my own home. I'm still a cowboy. To experience the sense of country life, I work on leather projects and surround myself with objects from back on ourp ranch in the woods.
I today miss my Colorado trips, J D at Red Rock ,mountains, ski slopes, the mighty Colorado river ,fishing, rafting hunting it's almost painful 3 months out of each year gone away!! Michigan is nice but not the West n it's pleasures n yes id rather be a cowboy most of all !!!Don't ever want to grow up.
Yes Susan Jones he was amazing in the time, energy, money and commitment he put into so many important issues! Can't say that about today's artists and entertainers!
2002 i was dieing and was a big fan of John Denver...i had been playing his music since i was a kid and took the time to learn this song and realized how much his music helped me through my life hard times and good times....i lived through the ordeal and never forgot this special tune R i p mr Denver and thankyou for all your beautiful music sir...
Jim Horn. (the great) on Pluto, etc. The late, great Pete Huttinger on guitar (the younger one). I knew him, and we used to email. He was the greatest “fingerpick”;style guitar player of his Yemeni ! He wrote books.and made DVDs to study ! A very nice and extremely talented man. I have meet almost all the musicians that played “support” on John’s albums and in concert, and the Associate Producer on all but one of his over 30 albums made during his lifetime, Mr. Kris O’Connor !
just a thought as i had seen elsewhere someone had put to remove johns picture as " it wasn't john " it was but i knew what the person meant.......i love ALL of him, pics/songs & his singing.playing etc etc . I play him day in & day out...
❤

55Cibby I wish I would of met him too. I’m a John Denver fan as well. Even though I’m 21. He died before I was born.
I followed his career since his Shepard’s Bush Green days ,had to put up being labelled “ uncool in the uk” but still watching; listening 2020
Still fills my heart with joy, hope and inspiration. A very special gift to humanity and nature; a friend to all. RIP JD
55Cibby I get very chocked up also watching these videos...John Denver was the best.
You got to go to the wildlife concert!?
An enormously talented singer and songwriter.
