All due time! I would rather have a polished game than a buggy mess. At least now there are so many custom content (tracks, wheels, karts and characters) in the game and the beta has online working nicely too.
Game has over 150 custom characters and 50 vehicles with colour options and 50 custom tracks, within one month of beta and a small community. The game is scheduled to roll over from beta to launch so its effectively already "out" if you dont mind some missing and WIP features. Online functions flawlessly and the game is a blast. Release likely late Q3/Q4. It is gauranteed to launch and is MUCH more likely to succeed than any other kart racer in the past decade since MK8 launch. Crossplay with mods on console too...
The development team hasn't scheduled a launch date yet, but they will as they are much closer to full completion. For now, I'm estimating that it will launch possibly next spring-ish?
@@OmegaTaishu exported from CTR99 using CTR-ModSDK and then ported to The Karters 2 (TK2) using github.com/PixelEdgeGames/TheKarters_WorkshopProjectRelease It is still missing track hazard and off-road which is coming soon to TK2 ModSDK. Also voice overs have been added to the SDK so pinstripe has voicelines now i think
Idk why but i prefer the og CTR psx version, karters 2 felt like the kart is floating on circuit rather than racing, the engine and turbo SFX is underwhelming too. I hope the official game will further polish this when it's release
CTR tracks are not optimized for this game as they are very short. The ripped LOD are not smooth so they may feel bumpy in some areas. The karts in CTR are slow in comparison and the perspective camera is different. You can make it feel normal by scaling the track even more. It may feel different than the original but it will fit this game physics more. It may feel floaty just because it has suspension system and lots of animation for landing, boosting and drifting or on the ground in general. It feels better playing it though as the kart is responsive. The engine sounds fine and varies on different speed. The drift boosting sfx might need a bit more oomph. At the time I recorded this, I had the soundtracks louder than the sfx ...vibing on the music 😅 Hopefully more optimization soon 🤞🏻
never heard this game. after seeing this video. i search this game. was coming in Steam. and developer give access to player to create their own character in workshop. yeah that mean you can implemented completely anyone. (if you can animate, i supposed)
@@watchirin1170 , the dev made some modding tools which makes it super easy to create and publish mods. You don't have to make original characters and such really but can download 3D models and port them using the blender and unity tools. Most of the mods so far are made by people who never used blender and Unity engine before. As for what is possible at the moment, you can make tracks and music, characters and voiceovers, karts, skins and wheels. You can use the preset animation from the tools or make custom animation!

It looks very fluid and has rewarding physics and I imagine it is a delight to feel how responsive the controls
Without a doubt the most responsive kart-racer I've played!
I like how this game will never come out.
