Hi there I've been looking for some advice as I can't find any answers anywhere and you explain things very well, I'm a complete novice and invested a small amount with a company a few years ago but withdrew my initial investment a month later, I thought that was the end of it but I have been contacted by a blockchain company saying that an investment in a bitcoin wallet I own had been flagged because of a failure during two step identification and they are trying give the bitcoin back to the legal owner, I've tried to investigate but can't find any information on the subject, I know very little of cryptocurrency so would really appreciate a little help,

That sounds like a scam to be honest. They'll probably say something like "we will give you this money back but we need you to pre-pay taxes" in order to trick you into sending them Bitcoin. It's a common variant of the "advanced fee" scam. I would not give them any personal information, and definitely no money. If it is truly legit, all they'd need to pay you is a public Bitcoin address from a wallet you control. If they ask for anything else, it's very likely a scam.
