This all just makes me think that someone needs to pursue human trafficking charges against the Order. Children being forced to work and pay people - who are essentially holding them hostage - for their basic rights is modern slavery. Are there any organizations that handle human trafficking cases in the USA which you could contact? Thanks for sharing your story Jacob, I hope you are well and know you are loved.
The issue with religious abuse is, the FBI has have to have freshly escaped victims (no victim, no crime) who are willing to testify - they have the same issue with Scientology. The average amount of time it takes to decompress after leaving and be able to talk is around 16 years, well past the statute of limitations. It took me ten years to finally admit that I was in a cult out loud to myself, much less to other people. It's a many layered, complicated issue, like any abusive relationship. Your the group might be vile, but it DOES contain family members and people you care about. These things aren't usually as easy as get out Tuesday, start talking Wednesday. Cults - especially religious ones - are dangerous for a reason - they teach you that law enforcement is worse than your group (TBF, the Kingston Group either has members within the police departments in the Wasatch Front area, or they're bribing several, or both). Better the devil you know. The FBI does have a department for human trafficking victims, and they'll set you up (all you have to do is contact the local office) with everything you need. The issue is, it's not like it's exactly advertised in a High Control Group.
@@pansprayers Those are very good points, thank you for sharing. I was thinking about legal advocacy groups and whether there are any that work on human trafficking cases in the USA, rather than the FBI or other governmental organizations, though it is good to know they have resources to help people if they're able to get in touch with them.
@@wanderandwonder121 the other big consideration is that you'd be hard pressed to find an attorney or organisation who will take on a minor who doesn't have the cooperation of their parent/guardian. Minors aren't generally allowed to bring a complaint in court without support from either a legal guardian or a member of law enforcement, and taking on these cases on their behalf against very well off religious groups presents both a monetary and criminal quagmire for orgs and attorneys. I was literally told to wait until I was 18.
Jacob is so funny and sweet i am happy that you feel better out of the cult. Amanda you are so amazing and supportive keep it up you are going to cause change!!!!
Jacob is so wise beyond his years. He has been through so much for such a young man. You are both some of the strongest people. Thank you for being so transparent with your experiences. Hope you all have so much happiness now.❤️
I agree, I can’t imagine charging my sons rent to raise them. My initial thought is that none of the mother’s are given the choice but to do that. Since it’s all across the board in the Order, it sounds like it’s a directive from the higher ranking men and it contributes to the financial gain of the cult.
You need an interview with John/ him to be part of the Vanguard video when he’s comfortable! He’s so knowledgeable about things! Love hearing from Jacob as well!
Oh Jacob, dont give up! I could tell within 2 mins that you're going to be ok, you're smart, articulate, brave, courages, wise and mature beyond your years. Its not going to be easy but lean on Amanda and the other escapees. Don't lose hope and go back, you're so much better than the way they've treated you. It must be devastating to lose your entire family but as your siblings get older they'll learn you got out and survived and it will encourage them to do the same, youll be reunited. Keep kickin ass and taking names, you've got this, you can do this, you're going to prove all the naysayers wrong.
thank you so much for sharing your story jacob! you seem like such a positive person and i hope you are able to heal and thrive after everything you've been through in the order
Awesome story! I love to watch Jacob’s story.. Amanda work so hard and help them to out any Mormons cults out!! I’ll looking forward to watch his part two stories.. Thanks for your stories :)
Thank you for sharing your story the more information and people speak out the more awarness you are spreading. Thabk you for being so strong. These cults are illegal and will not survive.
I love hearing these stories! Each one gives a new, interesting perspective-and not just on the Order. I look forward to the next part of Jacob's story. ^_^ And I'm always interested in visuals to go with stories, even though I sometimes multitask and miss what's happening on the screen. >_> I don't know if I'm just sensitive, but I have a hard time with how loud the music is at the beginning and end of the video. I like your music choice. It's just loud enough that if I don't anticipate it and turn the volume down, my ears hurt. 😬Since it's been this way for pretty much all videos, I'm gonna guess I'm just more sensitive... but if you have it a little lower in future vids, that would be nice. :) I did notice that you got the aspect ratio straightened out a while back-it's looking great!
Agree on the music, I have to monitor it too. Having said that, love Amanda and this work she’s doing. Also love Escaping Polygamy channel and the great work of those girls too.
Charging your kids rent!! It sounds like this is commonly done in the order. Amanda knew about it like it was common. I have watched a ton about the flds, the order and other polygamist communities but have never heard about charging their own kids rent!!?? Wtf
So when I Left the lds church. I went church surfing/looking for a different church. The closest I found to a regular Christian based church was church of Christ. I always explained that the church of Christ is the lds church without the book of mormon. So to hear you say LD Church of Christ Almost make sense to me..
praying for jacob, he finds his way, i cannot imagine having to be on your own at 16 yrs old, i grew up with both parents, they were married until they died, i have 2 older brothers, the order should have to pay for therapy for all the children who left, class action lawsuit
I left at 17, i wasnt in a cult, i had amazing parents, i just wanted to get out on my own asap lol its the stupid massive need and inclination to be independent.. sometimes to my detriment haha its not easy but its possible to do. I got my first job at Schlotzskys at 13 back in 20th working full time. I begged and begged to get hired and lied and said i was 15. I was determined to buy my own car by 15 and i did. My parents tried to make me stop working but it legitimate made me happy.
Amanda I stumbled upon your old wedding video from escaping polygamy. You are stunning!!! I love how you help others. Jackobs story touched me. I hope he is doing well now. Much love.
What kind of styling gel has John been using? Lol. I've never seen a white hair gel. I've seen an opaque blue styling goop but never opaque white styling gel.
I downloaded a video about the FLDS from profiling evil channel to watch. Really interested to hear what he says as he seems to have worked in law enforcement.
If you are able to charge to your father's account at the grocery store, it basically means your father doesn't want to feed you for those who go dumpster diving for food...
I'm not sure if you've answered this or not yet...I'm sure you have but my ADHD self has forgotten lol will there be a new set of escaping polygamy? I know Jessica said she didn't want to do it anymore but I think you, Colleen, and maybe Priscilla or Ava or anyone else would do a GREAT job! and are there still people reaching out looking for help to leave? I'm sure there are but if Jessica doesn't want to do the show, does that mean she is also not helping anyone?
They’ve said that it most likely won’t be coming back. It was too expensive from a production standpoint. Doing the last minute escapes and everyone constantly being on call, plus having to give financial incentive to the people who were escaping (they said they had to promise to give some kind of financial support for 6 months following the escape) was astronomically expensive I’m sure.
I’m just wondering ist legal to live like this? I mean having multiple wives and doing this to your kids? Laws or government? Sorry but I’m not from the US just asking out of curiosity
@@jaymielee1110 I was waiting for someone to make that comment. Always judging, not bothering to understand the comment. Of course no one wants kids to starve. It's not unique to this High Demand Religious Group. Mine did it, too, even though it's literally illegal. Good luck finding proof though.
