When you realize that B5 is the smallest and most lightly armed of the Babylon stations, even with the upgrade in Season 2. And that the mine launchers, the green cannon, are almost identical to the mine launchers on the front of the Omega's.

Pull the other one.” “Okay okay the real reason is because we want to mess with all those telepaths in the past who got visions of the station blowing up and thought it was a horrible portent of doom. That’ll teach em to see the future.”
Not to mention that spreading the pieces of the station out over a volume encompassing several thousand cubic miles would make it much *more* of a navigation hazard!
How awesome do you want the fighter launch to be. As awesome as you can make it. we got you man. 0:41 i always love the launch of star furies. its made all the more awesome with the theme playing. and even when i watched later seasons i found myself humming it as they would launch, no matter what was playing

The first appearance of a Shadow vessel, I was like, what the Hell did I just see? Was it an animal? I thought they would never explain it, but I started watching every episode in case they did.

@@rongray8416 They don't need coordinates, that not how space travel work in Babylon 5. Most likely reason is that they simply didn't have the fuel plus by the time they got to Babylon Jump gate it likely the ship would have disappeared into the depths of hyperspace.
Raiders weren't dumb enough to step to a couple of Sharlin cruisers. Would be like jumping into the ocean with a few raw sirloin steaks tied around your neck.
@@Leondrius the entire complement of Raider fighter craft along with the battlewagon they rode in on would've gotten fried by just one squadron of Nial-class heavy fighters if they tried to steal from the Minbari >:)

When I saw this as a kid, the Shadow vessel appearing out if nowhere scared the crap out of me. And their scream makes them even creepier.
Yes they are truly frightening.
It is a telepathic scream and a terror weapon. Like the Nazgul's in LoTR.

Yeah I agree, but i also loved the launches of the Vipers from Battlestar Galactica.

The best part is the fighters aren't even doing anything at launch. It's just the rotational force of the station flinging them away.
he really was "killed by shadows". No one knew what that meant at the time. They figured it out soon enough

After 30 years still one of my favourite B5 first season episodes. A masterpiece.

Me too, think from this episode on I watched everything. Later on I rewatched season 1 and found it not as bad as I first thought.

the closest I've seen to it is a Star Trek Bridge Commander mod with many ships included in one
Why the hell did raiders attack the station itself... Oh right, THAT episode.
Part of me wondered why they never bothered following the ship through the jumpgate, and towed it back to B5!
The ship used its own on board Jump engines so the station had no coordinate's to input to the jumpgate for the starfuries to use
