Spy, having seen the invite, takes it, and goes to fight in smash, being disguised as Heavy. Then, mid-battle he removed the disguise, and the fighter card appears: "Spy! Sneaks his way into the competition!"
If they ever were to add him they should do a fake out where the trailer starts with a different character not in the game and either the disguise breaks revealing the spy or he backstabs the person to reveal the spy behind them.
