I roll out my cookie dough between 2 sheets of parchment so no problem of extra flour. I also substitute 2 TBS of corn starch for 2 TBS flour. Keeps edges of cookies crisp and clean
I always wondered why they always had to be vanilla flavoured sugar cookies instead of chocolate but now I find chocolate it’s just like heaven on earth!!

Would sifting the cocoa powder and the powdered sugar together make it easier(smoother) to incorporate the rest of the ingredients and result in a silkier consistency??
Awighty Sam..here is the DL😂..made these few days ago..i use Pernigotti cocoa pwd..found the cookies to b a lil intense cld b the cocoa pwd..so decided not to ice them..yesterday went ahead with ur icing..and omg..what a huge difference its made..they r yum..and also all gone..i got a whopping 66 cookies from this recipe..thinly rolled..cut with a round fluted edge cutter..thanx as usual..❤ God Bless n Happy Holidays ..🌲🙌
Samantha, your chocolate frosting enrobement skills are first rate! I can see a bright future for you with the Keebler elves if you ever decide to pivot away from this RUclips thing. My only concern is whether or not you would fit inside their workshop because it’s in a tree and it’s kind of small because they’re diminutive little fellers. Maybe, you can invite all of the elves to work in your kitchen instead since you have so much space. Just please make sure that your dog knows the elves are not chew toys!

Usually, if it’s taking that long for the icing to set it was too wet when it was made and just needed more sugar :(

Can the corn syrup be replaced by maple syrup for the icing?
It won't set up quite the same. I would just omit the corn syrup. Your frosting won't be as shiny though.
I saw a double asterisk by the vanilla extract in the ingredients but couldn’t find it in your notes. Can you tell me why there is a double asterisk?
I heard you can use powdered sugar instead of flour when rolling out your cookies, you try it?
I feel like the added sugar to the dough would make the cookies spread and could change the texture.

It’s a stiff dough and the butter needs to be creamed with the sugar so while it could be done it’s a lot more effort and harder to do

Are these cookies soft or crunchy/hard?
You can make them either way actually! Roll them thicker and bake slightly less time for soft and chewy. Thinner will give you crispier cookies! 😊
I wouldn't use a whisk to make the icing. A spoon is much easier. Nice biscuit.
