Love this simple bag pattern. When I box the corners, I use French seams as well - box on the right side, stitch, trim, then turn and stitch again. No raw edges anywhere. 😊

I love this channel is an understatement!!! I've been doing a bit of brainstorming on ideas to repurpose the fabric on some old clothes to turn them into things that can be used and enjoyed, and this never crossed my mind! I LOVE this tutorial!!! Watching it was so simple to follow and understand, yet the results still look beyond a basic handmade bag! I've always wondered how the whole "boxing the corners" was done was was going to look that up at some point, but here it is! To be honest, I actually just threw this on to watch while I had a coffee and a snack!!! LOVE this pattern, because it looks like it could be modified to be smaller for the purposes of making smaller bags or gift bags, or for book bags. May I ask what that tool is called that you were using for measurement as you were pressing the hems of the bag? It looks absolutely brilliant and probably something I need in my life LOL!!! Thank you SO MUCH once again for such a DELIGHTFUL video!!! I should stop by more often during my coffee and snack breaks, even when I'm not looking for any sort of specific sewing support, but simply for inspiration!!! You certainly do not disappoint in that regard either!!! 😍😍😍
Nice one video i need bulk quantity of bags for retail business do you stitching it or if you to know any other person do it please let me know i need pure cotton cloth with 19 inch height and 17 inch breath handle height 7 inch and also i need one side zip facilities
What is the finished dimensions of the bag. I would like to make a smaller bag and am struggling with what I should start with. I have a bag that I would like to replicate and it is about 8 inches square, (all around , 8inch wide base too ). Thanks so much
I made one of these last night, following these instructions and measurements the inside area is about 15" tall, 12" across and 4" wide and the handles are long enough to easily go over your shoulder. You can absolutely scale down the starting dimensions in order to make it the smaller size you are looking for.

Yes, the boxes can have French seams too and trim the excess

It's a french seam. Very strong seam and doesn't fray. Sometimes you just need a leap a faith :)

May I know what type of presser foot are you using
It's a 1/4" presser foot. It makes it easy for you to feed your pieces through your sewing machine with an exact quarter inch seam allowance.
