    Good information- I see your infrared lights are beside (on either side) of your main lens so do you know what pinhole lights above & below the main lens are about? Thanks for your input!

    Stick Up Cam Battery" waterproof and rainproof, or should it be covered??

    • @VibrantDeals

      It is best to put the cams under cover. They will last way longer when you keep if from the elements of the weather and sun. Most ring cameras are water resistant put not waterproof.

    Question… can you still see the room just as well when viewing it from your phone with the light covered? I thought the blue light’s job was to illuminate the subject moving, so if I don’t have it will the image just show up black/dark?

    • @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking
      @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking 2 года назад +5

      Don't worry. This LED doesn't illuminate the room. (It is just bright, as in, hurts your eyes to look at it.) You can test it - turn off the lights - you'll see a bright dot of blue in a dark room.
      Blue LED's are the "cheapest." That's why companies keep making products with blue lights.
      (Even though they are bad for our circadian rhythms.)
      In some areas, cameras are required to have a light on them - for legal reasons. (IE alert people a camera is in their vicinity for privacy.) I surmise that's what the blue light is about. Legal CYA.
      They could make a "safe" color, like red, or amber. But - they'd rather save literally 1 penny or less on blue. Blue lights prevent blinking - and dry out our eyes. Pilots don't have blue lights in the cockpit for this reason. It causes eye strain, irritability, and fatigue without sleepiness.

    I wouldn’t recommend Ring outdoor cams because your neighbors may start behaving strangely, become suspicious of you, and may even attack you. Best that no one outside your home knows when your cams are recording. Seems these security companies aren’t very good at security. What is secure about that blue light? That blue light is gonna compromise your security! The blue light even enables a crook to time his movements avoiding detection. It’s a huge security risk, and it’s ridiculous.

    • @VibrantDeals
      @VibrantDeals  4 года назад +1

      It doesn't affect the motion sensor or anything. Just make sure if you cover up the light that the tap is just enough to cover the blue light.

    why is it so hard to find information about the ring camera from the company? How are people supposed to buy something without knowing much? If the battery is not completely dead and still has some life in it, is it okay to charge it? How long should I leave it in to be recharged? There are two lights on the battery. One orange and one green. Do they both need to be green to be fully charged or only one needs to be green to be charged.

    • @trupyrodice4462
      @trupyrodice4462 3 года назад +3

      Um -okay guys, I got this one -- Grandpa, did you read the card insert and little booklet that was in the box with the cams? Pretty helpful that little bit, explains most things pretty well. There was also a website address --not a physical address, so dont try driving there, you have poke the letters on the keyboard hooked up to the picture box to bring up the company's channel-- its printed on the included materials for any questions or issues.
      #1 Now, the batteries can be charged even if there is power left inside them. Its perfectly okay, wont hurt a thing... just try to let it get to about 1/4 power to get the longest cycles(charge/discharge) out of them.
      #2 Leave the battery on the charger until the battery light (single green one) is solid green -with no other color lights on- you can assume it is totally charged. You can also verify this within the Ring app by looking at the specific camera and going to the "Device health" section for individual camera/device. (I've lightly engraved little Roman numerals into the back of each camera and device and include that in the name of location so I dont get them mixed up when charging and making this a little more convenient.)
      If you have anymore difficulty I'm sure you probably have a grandkid or two wrast'ln around the back 40 you can get to show you how it works.
      You could always do the google too. Just ask it any questions you may have and it'll probably find the answers. Just right click the mouse (again, not a real rodent) and speak clearly into the red light on the bottom. If it doesn't work then first time try it again but speak alot louder making sure everyone in the room is quiet. It didnt work to well for my parents, but they did say the mouse was kinda old and probably didnt have any good hearing left.
      😂😂Sorry for all that, in all seriousness the numbered answers I gave are accurate and reliable. All the other smartas$ery you can disregard. I'm honestly just some bored wanker who has stayed up far past my bedtime.
      If you have anymore questions about anything feel free to ask, next time I wont be such a turd. 😁Lol, hopefully no hard feelings bro, cheers.

    Debating whether to get this or another stick up outdoor/indoor. Stick up is on sale $25 more. Both fairly same.. except no cord on it so I can hide it better and still runs if power goes out (with UPS on router). The indoor from another review has color night vision feature though.

      The red lights can be covered as well I cover it up with up electric tape and the blue light just cut a square that's big enough to cover it as long as it not on the white part you won't have any problems the sensor is at the very bottom of the cameras and the auto night fluid right above the lens that dot sorry for typing let me know if it works ok for you

    EDIT: Still need help!! But, I did notice that I must have a new camera since my blue light is below the camera lens and the night vision detector is above. I just noticed that on your camera the two are next to each other. Maybe the design of my camera does not allow modifications like this. When I tell you I have a piece of tape just barely big enough. I mean, I'm talking small. And, it still prevents motion detection. I'm stumped at the moment.
    HELP! For some reason my camera stops detecting motion no matter how small the piece of tape is. I modified my piece of electrical tape to make it even smaller (to the point it just barely covers the light) and it still doesn't work. I don't understand, because the piece of tape you used was much larger than the one I used, and I am still having trouble. When I take the tape off and it detects perfectly. I have fooled around with it for several days now. Cannot figure it out. Any help would be appreciated!

I read an article about the lawsuit the other day and one of the employees was handing out free cameras just so he could log in and watch. I mean........ You have to consider this for sure.
