It's been fun seeing the comments. To answer your question. I did not marry Jeff. We both married others and lately we found out our sons went to the same college in North Carolina! Small world.
Janet Wirostek I always watched Love Connection back then. It was such a fun show to watch. I always wondered about the couples and if things worked out with them. I used to think it would be fun to be on Love Connection, but since I lived and still live in the middle of Pennsylvania, it have been a long commute. Lol You and I are probably the same age, or very close to it. I graduated high school in 1983 and I’m 54 and married now with a family. Back then, I never thought I would have any of that. You were so beautiful and I’m sure you are still beautiful. I’m glad you found your soulmate.
If your personality is anything like it was back then, you can tell your husband he is a lucky man. I feel bad for your sons because in todays world it is very difficult to find women like you especially with the men-bashing today.
I know Janet Nau, her Mom was my piano teacher. She has a wonderful family. Back in 83 I spent time with them in Big Bear at their cabin. We had so much fun! Janet's a great gal
My mom and I watched this together after my brothers high school teacher was a contestant, before that we would watch it randomly. This bright back such fond memories, my mom passed very young, at 52 years old in 1992 but she had a crush on Chuck Woolley AND Alex Trebeck.
I think over half the women on the show would rather pick Chuck. I understand he is/was a ladies man. 5 marriages is what my understanding and 5 or 6 children as well l could be wrong but l think l'm very close to being right. If anyone knows anything different please let me know!
Chuck was definitely smitten when you walked out. Always loved this show... Always liked Chuck as a host. I thought it was always interesting that the fact he hosted a show called Love connection and was married four times...😀 Thank you for posting.
I can't blame Chuck for crushing on this woman. Janet, I'm an inch and a half taller than you and if I had seen you back then, I would've had a hard time staying away. And I usually go for shorter women.
As a one-time resident of Cranford, NJ, I was really gunnin' for Russell, but whoever you would've picked would be a winner. Amazing beauty and poise at age 23.
At first I was kinda shocked you picked him, the little snippet they showed of his interview didn't do him any favors but he turned out to be a really cool guy. Fun memories for you I'm sure.
I definitely noticed that!!! This show is a classic, I had forgotten about it for years!! Found it by accident, now have been binge watching for almost 2 hours lolz!
Congratulations, Janet(on your 25th Wedding Anniversary), albeit, a li'l late. I didn't watch the show that often, but I just came across this episode which...I DO remember catching. And what I remembered...were your two gorgeous outfits and how nicely you "put them together". I adored how women dressed in the late 1980s and early to mid 1990s. I do Hope your husband...*notices*(I'm guessing you still "dress to the 'nth'"...like before)! I have always liked confident women, with a little attitude, that dressed well & took pride in *how* they presented themselves! Best Of Everything to you & your family!
Thanks for the update Janet, ur very pretty...I’m glad that you had fun on your date (I would have picked the first guy though, lol) my mom and I used to watch this show back in the 80’s so watching these old episodes brings back fond memories!
He’s griping about her being 15 minutes late when he doesn’t have a car or even thought about renting one! He gripes too much when he couldn’t find a way to get to her house, as a gentleman should.
I believe that was part of their shared humor. Watch her expressions and body language as he says that and especially when he says she ate like a horse.
Ah man. Miss Nau is such a righteous babe! It was a dream to be guy back then. I graduated in 87 and I remember how the world was full of lovelies such as Miss Nau, tall the gorgeous gals at my school and the young teachers too. We fellas had it made then!
Love these old shows. I just had to look up Janet to see what she looks like today.she was beautiful then and still just as beautiful today...you can tell she had her life together even at a young age..
I liked the look of number 1 guy Russell. He had a lovely smile and didn't seem sleazy or anything..... like many. All the people would be about aged 55 now or headed to 60. Jerry seemed nice too.
Wow I don't think I remember this episode by I was 23 as well in 87. You both had fantastic chemistry together. Jeff was right you did have great legs. The 1980's were a different time for sure look how men and women dressed to go out and present themselves.
The 80's were awesome, especially the early 80's. I graduated HS in 1980. Great times,. I hope some new generation brings back that lifestyle and freedom.
Watching from from 36 years in the future. I thought these two people were adorable. Not sure where they are now but I had a smile on my face the whole time. Two beautiful people that liked each other. Would love to hear how their lives turned out but that doesn't really matter ... they had a good time and were charming. I do not like the back stabbing and insults but I guess the show management thought it was good for entertainment. To me those episodes just make me sick. I did watch when I was younger in High School. Big hair, facial hair and mullets ... cut off the back young men. LOL. Never happen because I dated someone that had the hair cut just like that. He actually was just not for me and he crawled on my roof where I was living with my family (I was 17). Mom woke me up and made me confront the guy and tell him NO will not date. My mom was cool about that and left us alone for me to talk ... It was 2 in the morning. God bless my mom. Of course she went to bed. Bless her soul ... but I was angry I had to deal with this. She said ... "I am not intervening"
Janet is an absolutely stunningly beautiful woman especially in that black dress when she came out for the second time! There is just something about how women dressed back then that was just so sexy and classy. I have a good life now but I sure do miss the '80s!
I have this history of not feeling the social vibes and such at this point of my life. This helped me figure out that was true, but not all my fault. Those awkward moments for all.
Thank you Janet!!!! This was one of the better episodes!!! I noticed Chuck had thought you were hot and he didn't show that much!! Best of Luck to you and your family!!!

This was the show's 5th year and it was Gene's final year, then, his protegee, Rich Jeffries, took over that same season, where the last season where prizes had announced to the guest on the show, the year before Johnny Gilbert (who used to be under contract with Lorimar-Telepictures & announced Jeopardy! at the time, still has to this day) took over and guest no longer received prizes, mainly due to money, before he was let go to pave the way for the young and unfamiliar, John Cervenka!
