    Plug it in and use 30watt and then do your fps test again.😊

      Oh it is significantly higher but it defeats the purpose of a handheld if I have to stay connected to a wall. I tried playing at 20 watts of TDP and batter was dead in 70 minutes, I cant even hit 30 without the charger

      @@MannyRataulI agree too. If the manufacturers expect us to stay near a wall outlet the entire time then it's basically a tiny tablet with built in controllers. A tablet with the battery life of a gaming laptop. A step in the right direction but hardly impressive.

    Ι don't understand why storage expansion with a microSD is mentioned as an option. It is well known that rog ally's micro sd reader is faulty. If you buy the ally you are bound to internal nvme storage

    Hi, nice review with fresh perspectives. I didn't know that while charging the Ally bypasses the battery (so the battery never gets charged while gaming & plugged in?). Also, could we connect a USB-C Hub to the 1 USB-C port (which has say a couple of USB-A ports to which we can directly plug-in our Keyboard and Mouse over USB rather than Bluetooth as most gamers would do that to avoid latency issues) ?

    • @MannyRataul
      @MannyRataul  11 месяцев назад

      Yes you can so so that, the inputs are essentially the same as on a PC.

      @@MannyRataul Thanks Manny, coz I am planning on getting the ROG Ally only if it supports a USB hub so that I can then connect my Gaming Keyboard & Mouse. Appreciate if you could let me know about the battery thing - so the battery never gets charged while gaming & plugged in?

      @@santhnukeep in mind the hubs usually have no drivers (plug and play) but docks that come from Lenovo, dell, etc do have drivers that you'd need to download on the ROG

    have you had a chance to test the latest bios. It appears in 15 watt mode Asus have given more power budget to the GPU vs before the CPU was more favored which limited the GPU's clock speeds. To me the really only downside for Ally is Windows. If SteamOS ran on the Ally like it does for deck... I would jump ship. Other thing is the 1080p on this size screen is not really needed. Rather see a 720/800p OLED and 60hz.

    • @MannyRataul
      @MannyRataul  11 месяцев назад

      I personally love the 1080p screen at 120hz. If anything, I would sacrifice resolution for a higher refresh rate, 60hz seems way too low for modern gaming standards where many games play above 60fps

    • @JFlogerzi
      @JFlogerzi 11 месяцев назад

      @@MannyRataul be honest unless your sacrificing alot of details in AAA games or even older games, the ally will struggle to use the 120hz. granted for desktop use 120hz is great!

    • @MannyRataul
      @MannyRataul  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@JFlogerzi well look at my results most if not all are over 60fps at a lower resolution. At that point the screen is the limiting factor here. Not to mention this can be used for multimedia purposes too not just gaming

    Mmh you are getting weirdly low fps at 1080p. Have you tried increasing your VRAM for the gpu to 6/8Gb?
    BTW this hardware is made for 720p but 1080p is not a stupid marketing choice as I was thinking it would be. Using FSR you can get a great visual quality thanks to a 1080p display. Sure Better then what you can get on a 720p display

      The battery will drain quickly if your playing max settings esp on triple a titles but low wattage custom set between 7-10w silent playing indie titles can get 3-4 hours easily for me. Not only that un installed alot of the windows bloat ware or disabled it. And now being able to select how many gpu ram you want also helps.
