Duke fans aren't just eating good this year, they're feasting.
After a good meal, there's nothing like a good cigar.
-Duke Nukem's grand daddy, Blondie.
A half-finished game from 20+ years ago is hardly a feast. Maybe a light snack at best but more likely just salt in the wound.
Feel like I just ate at Duke Burger
There is more than just a half-finished game. There's the restoration project, which aims to complete it. There's the 2003 project, which aims to reimplement it in a custom version of id Tech 4 with some features of id Tech 5. And we got the various builds of Duke Nukem Critical Mass, with all of their assets.
@@DevilMaster Where's the 2003 project? Tech 4 was a fucking beast, can't wait to see how it looks.

~Duke Nukem, circa 1998.
"Ooohhh that’s what I call a close encounter!"
Never forget what George robbed us of, guys.
i just sent him a tweet. Told him to get active in the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Restoration Project. I say we all petition to get him to help finish the game and redeem himself! comeback of the century. Everyone Deserves a second chance!
@@callmepistol Considering the response tweet he gave to Scott Miller I doubt he'll be much help, though I wouldn't mind if he did get involved (long as he doesn't delay it at all).
@@callmepistol did he block you already?
@@callmepistol Wait there is an actuall project like that?
Was he responsible for the mess? I did not follow the stroy.
For me, this version gives me the "It was a great game, a success story but it's old and this is the final game of the franchise" type of vibe. It is a banger and I'll be really really happy if they manage to make this game a complete one.
It's sounds so fucking epic, like the ending to an awesome movie.
so weird to finally hear this without explosion sounds and Duke's voice lines mixed in
I still hear them anyway!
Glad we finally have this out there. ;)
This musical piece right here is the most perfect awesome track my ears have EVER listened to. It is only to me rivaled by the original score done for Dragonball Z by Bruce Falconer. This theme perfectly personifies the power, confidence, and dominating presence of Duke Nukem. What I love most is that subtle drum beat you can hear in the background. LITERALLY the heartbeat of the 90's beating strong and will last FOREVER!!!
I love this Theme. I watched the 1998-Trailer so often just for the music and for nostalgia. It's great! "Always bet on Duke!"
Never would've thought Duke would be coming back this year in this storming and frenetic way.
No wonder though, that's been his true essence ever since we knew him.
Yeah. First Duke Nukem Critical Mass, then DNF 2001, and now this. There has been more Duke content released this year than in 2011 when DNF came out.
Don’t Forget about The Movie. That could lead to more games. The King is back.
@@DevilMaster Wait, Critical Mass? The Nintendo DS game? What happened with that one? I haven't heard anything.
@@lugbzurg8987 Not the DS game, but the never released PSP game. It's a completely different game: a third-person shooter that plays out in semi-open levels. It can be played with PPSSPP v1.0.1 and it feels like a PC game circa 2002. It comes with the full source code, as well as all levels in the format of 3D Studio Max 2010. I started messing around with the level files to see what I could do, and I managed to port some of them (architecture only) to Unreal.

@@DevilMaster OH! Thanks! Not sure how I missed this. 2001 has just been overshadowing everything. I don't think there's been this much Duke Nukem hype since 2001 itself.
The best Duke theme in my opinion. Love the ambience fx and the synths in the background. Especially the little part at 1:18. So glad we finally have a full quality version of this!!!
Duke Nukem Forever Restoration Project First Slice is out, same for DNF Enhanced v1.5.
Always bet on Duke
As always
I did not know people like you existed out there. I was so passionate about this version (and the game version too) I thought I had poor taste at some point. But it seems like other metal fans realize this is still the best version. Thank you for the upload, Sir! Greetings from Central Europe!
Frankly I think the Megadeth version is overrated. This is god tier.
I wish could get a hold of that lil' tech demo. Imagine the possibilities with modders. @@mrscruffles801
I personally like the "Manhattan Project" version of Grabbag.
@@Mazaroth That. Is. Gay. Sue me!
GOD I love this theme SO much, James Grote is a genius!!!
This would be perfect for a Duke Nukem movie
I think this is the first time grabbag was done with real instruments. And it’s still the best version yet. I’ve been waiting for a high quality release of this since I saw the DNF 1998 trailer. Thank you!
It's so good to finally have a high quality version of this available now after seeing the old VHS trailers from E3.
Surprised to hear those additional instruments playing alongside the main ones from 2:30 on,
guess they were inaudible because of the lower quality of the tracks the community had before.
More like the version in the trailer is still a slightly different mix or arrangement
I was Born to ROCK the World
it's time to kickass and chew bubblegum ! Always bet on duke! ;-)
Oh my god, finally. I've waited this for soo long.....
This is absolutely PURE GOLD!

*"I WAS BORN TO ROCK THE WORLD."*
Time to be a king among men. Thanks for this, made my day!
Kickass! Where did the composer originally upload the track? Asking because RUclips loves to butcher audio quality.
The original uncompressed wav file was given to one of the members of the DNF2001 Restoration Project and he posted it publicly on the site in the description after getting permission from the composer to do so.
@@RazielAU amazing
Oh it's such a great version...
Let’s rock!
2:09 Uhhh! That's what I call a close encounter!
This is so glorious.
You know what I would love to hear in high quality? The music from the DNF 2003 gameplay video.
The generic butt rock
@@IDHLEB we want all the music!
"That's what I call a close encounter."
Best Grabbag theme ever !!!
Hail to the king, baby!
Is it possible to contact James Michael Grote? I'm looking for his "Songs for Deathmatch" releases and they seem to be lost to time, nothing available in the net.
Эксклюзивная мелодия 1998 года созданная к невышедшей Дюк Нюкем навсегда 2001,взятая фанатами у её создателя.На данный момент фанаты доделывают слитую кем то в интернет игру.🙏🏻
I keep waiting for Duke to do the moan that the startup track to DNF2001 has - this song slaps though, great job!
Зашибумба.
Отлично.
Спасибо за это.
After the 2001 Build leak. I would like someone to recreate the 1998 version as well, either as a Quake or Half-Life mod.
Someone's already doing it. And that "someone" is me. www.moddb.com/mods/ego-enforcer
@@DevilMaster Just checked out your page. I'm eager to see how your project turns out
We making it out of morningwood with this one 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Now you can rock the world in crystal clear quality!
This is cool
High praise when I can't pick between this or Megadeth's version.
Best Duke Nukem theme ever created (with the one from Megadeth). It's just PERFECT !
Awesome. Good quality.
AT LAST
This grabbag sounds sad to me.
Like a farewell song.
Made this my ring tone. HAIL TO THE KING BABY!!
Damn good duketheme!!!!!!!!!!
Love this variation a la Duke! Thanks so much

im finally glad this is here
BRING BACK THE KING!!!
It's time to maybe kick ass and I should chew bubblegum but I just don't feel like it
Damn, the drum mix is great in this especially the snare.
BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS
Great, thanks. Do you have a link to download this masterpiece in FLAC quality?
FLAC? No. WAV? Yes. duke4ever.altervista.org/audio.html
Amazing!
The main riff sounds like a demo from Megadeth's version of the theme
Because Megadeth based their version on this one.
Finally I get to hear this without Dave moaning
That's one doomed space marine
Does anybody have a tab for this version?
poggers
His riff is much better than megadeth's one.
It is definitely different. I generally prefer this as a Duke Nukem song, but the Megadeth take is unk*nreal as well. Much more... texture.
Always bet on Duke!
Everyone Tweet George Broussard. Tell him to get involved in the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Restoration Project. I say we all petition to get him to help finish the game and redeem himself! comeback of the century. Everyone Deserves a second chance!
There's only one role that George deserves: to be a janitor. Having him in the project would result in feature creep, delays, and having to ditch the entire work multiple times.
@@DevilMaster I mean, he was a major developer, I think it's fine. Especially if he can give us more insight of the 90% finished 2002 build, so modders can restore the game more accurately.
@@omarrodriguez4943 Broussard ran DNF into the ground and pissed away 3D Realms' money because he had no clue what he was doing. His constant need for the game to be the biggest and fanciest thing on the market forced the dev team to restart over and over again, killing team morale and leading to more problems and slower development time. Even now he won't take responsibility for mismanaging the project like he did, preferring to blame Miller for everything when Miller was the one trying to keep 3D Realms from sinking. (Which it inevitably did when 2K had enough of Broussard's shenanigans)
I think it would be better if Scott Miller was involved with project than George Broussard
Needs to be more metal than this, otherwise a decent take
Always bet on Duke
