I have been a teacher of technology for 25 years and I know how time consuming it can be to customize software. Your use of technology and ability to share it with others is fantastic! Thank you.

    Nice video.
One question, though… I’m doing embroidery and have ink stitch for that purpose. But why would this be done in InkStitch as opposed to InkScape? Or would it automatically migrate to InkScape? Sorry if that’s a dim question, but I’m only 3 days into this entire program.

Inkstitch is a plugin for inkscape and can't work without it. They work together and many tools we use to digitize are both inkscape tools and inkstitch tools.

I have purchased several digitized fonts. I assume this would also work for those. Thank you.

For predigitized fonts like those you might purchase, you should follow this guide here.

So I've watched like a billion of your videos learning to use InkStitch, normally when you digitize letters and numbers you don't use the Auto route satin feature. Is there a reason that for this font you chose to use the Auto route. It seems that Auto route adds more jumps and running stitches then you normally do manually.

I use autoroute quite a bit. Mostly depends on the details. If there are small satins like with very small satin lettering I'll do it manually and not trim anything on the inside of the design. Small satin letters can be very tricky to pull off and the extra attention to detail makes for a better outcome. Larger satin lettering can usually work fine with autoroute.

So I went to your website and downloaded COLLEEGE, unzipped it, now how do I get it into my custom font directory?

Depending on what OS you're on, you should unzip the download resulting in 4 files. These four files should be in a folder named colleege (or similar). If not, create a folder called colleege and move the 4 files into it. Then move the colleege folder into your inkstitch custom font directory. Restart inkscape and the new font should be there when you select the lettering tool.
