Was lucky enough to be at this gig - have come back to watch this video several times - thak you Icar. Still gives me goosebumps. This song was truly an out of body experience. I've been to hundreds of gigs and have never felt the way I did when this song was on...INCREDIBLE
Definitely a go-to for keys players to ascend into the Chorus. Even more common, on piano, because we dont have so many bells and whistles to work with.
James is actually really good here! I was at the London show and he was clearly battling / recovering from sickness - he’s improved massively as the tour goes on. Singing this kind of stuff at the age of 61 is pretty impressive.
I was at this show in Oslo at 6’th row. I’ve seen DT about 15 times, first time was at the Falling into infinity tour…, and both nights on the Metropolis shows This was one of the best performances I’ve seen by LaBrie…,and the whole band was on fire that night too. Perfection!!!!
I saw some parts of that show that you said on video, of course. I was really sad to see him sing because he was really having a hard time. I hope to see him singing well also
Interesting how the sound changes when you zoom in... (the highs drop out. I assume it's trying to do "focused audio"...) Thanks for recording this! (and not missing the god-note at the end!)
He is modulating his voice more and when he has to make treble he does not try to reach the iperacute but sings a little lower so as not to distort and not go out of tune......
A little history....And why this perceived hate from the fans.... Most of us OG fans were prog, metal, or rock musicians, ourselves. ( musically educated or experienced ) People mistake criticism for hate. The problem is that DT set the bar so high, in the beginning, that the fans called them out EVERY time that they were human. They are kind of a victim of their own mastery.
I'd like to go see DT in Nashville in February 2025, but I don't want to spend over $200 to have to listen to 'superfans' proving themselves by singing loud and off key all around me. That's why I don't go to live shows.
19:38 con el zoom se ve que el grito está doblado al parecer porque hay un delay desde que deja de gritar hasta que deja de oirse el grito, se nota más a 0.75x. Al parecer canta él casi toda la canción y la parte difícil hace mímica en una pista.
no no don't talk and generate controversy to appear!!!! The song is sung by Labrie and there is a part that has a repetition effect, more specifically an echo, and in the end the voice that is heard over Labrie's is people from the audience, which by the way is quite out of tune...perhaps the one who filming or someone next door sang with a high voice but very out of tune and ruined the song
who is playing the orchestral/vocal pads during the intro of the song?? Backing tracks, sequenced keyboards? mmmm, not good. Jordan, if you want to imitate Pink Floyd and Yes, do it right, with a keytar (the Gilmour part) and then Petrucci with a pedal steel guitar (the Howe part). Other than that, a beautiful piece.
I just can’t listen to JL anymore. He’s flat, pitch. I cant imagine for the life of me that the other band members aren’t going “WTF is going on with him.
Throughout the video you may say to yourself "isn't he flat, like all over the place?". Then Mike sings the trade off vocals and you have a comparison of in tune vs. flat.

Usually James play keyboard while Jordan solo in Octavarium. When in Chile 2006 clearly James play Chord while Jordan play Lead
3:45 Yeees finally rudess starts the melody with the lower octave. That is more impactful whe he repeats the secuence with the higher octave :D
Nice. So I wasn't the only one who noticed that here.

I saw them in luxembourg after reviewing the first shows : the band is at its best, and La Brie really does the job.

Thanks mate, kept hands steady for such a long song. Cheers!
Was in this arena. Was blown away from James's performance 🎉🎉
Oh man, the guy that's front row and goes out during Octavarium of all songs to get a beer 😅
Hes got some time during jordans noodling
this is so beautiful thank you so much for the upload
they play only that song in that gig probably ..... and totally worth every penny 👌🏼🥲🥲🥲
Los ando persiguiendo ya tengo mi entrada para el Movistar Arena el 19 de diciembre que manija

james sounds amazing
for real, wow
James sounds good here
Thanks so much for share. Great job, congratulations.
Real music of the heart
Thank you for sharing this beautiful adventure. How i wish i could experience this. DT please come to Kuwait
what the...kuwait
donde fue esto?
Who change the chords at the beginning ?
What did you record this with
Great vid quality
4:40 dt fans know what they should do is insane
Cool !!!
What camera are you using?
Tomorow Lisbon.😋
JR the wizard!
where have I never heard that before --- DAH.
James is perfect here
He is amazing these days, much better than before. A true resurrection
He is modulating his voice more and when he has to make treble he does not try to reach the iperacute but sings a little lower so as not to distort and not go out of tune......
He was great the whole evening, honestly!
yeah - perfectly flat
What singer are you listening to?
Fajne, ale kategorycznie nie należy nagrywać koncertu z włączoną funkcją "zoom microphone"! Przy oddaleniu, jakość dźwięku wyraźnie się pogarsza!
Amazing each and every one of them! Away with criticism 😊✌

Sadness. No more Mangini. But portnoy is now an icon
now?
Great song but the look on their faces to me said they didn’t want to be there, everyone looked zoned out, probably gets challenging some nights
You’d think DT fans would have better timing with their clapping
jajajajajaja
Now don't you guys who were ragging on James at the beginning of the tour feel silly?
They are like anime character:
Yusuke - JP
Hiei - JM
Kurama - JR
Kuwabara - JL
Genkai - MP
Yuyu Hakusho! Love this one
JLB as Kuwabara? 😂😂😂😂😂
Haha, so JM must be bullying him 😂

You guys are crazy this is way too slow!
Love these guys SO much!!!!
Tattoo
Soy yo o le están poniendo vos de fondo a James Labrie ??

@@felipegcs no no labrie is the one who sings, he has no clue, it's not like that....

Sstt shut up
u play then..
Dream Theatre has a bass player! Who knew?
I dont think dt has a bass player only. 🙂
I just can’t listen to JL anymore. He’s flat, pitch. I cant imagine for the life of me that the other band members aren’t going “WTF is going on with him.
Maybe they remember that he cant sing the same way as he get older.

it call AGEING..u think they're robots?😂
So boring…
