When the definitive edition was announced at a Nintendo Direct, every Xenoblade fan knew within 3 notes that the trailer was for Xenoblade. The theme is that iconic within the community.

Xenoblade created some sort of ritual that I now do for most games, especially JRPGs. What I do is, when I boot up the game for the same time, I listen to the main theme for a full loop while staring at the main screen (for games that have those) and then I do it again after beating the game for the first time. I'm really excited to see you play the game, be it streamed or not. I think you'll really enjoy the story of all games in the series.

Maaaaaan...I had always wanted to donate a request for this song but I specifically was going to say "you should find footage of the title screen itself" because that's where it plays, And Xenoblade has, bar none, the BEST title screen in any video game ever. (This isn't even bias, this is almost unanimously agreed upon by like, ***everyone*** I've ever seen talk about this subject.)
Something to prepare for from your audience once you start playing/streaming this: expect to see battle quotes galore XD they're burned into souls of the xenoblade fandom, and we will chant them ad nauseum for any reason
Yoko Shimomura did the main theme, it's right up there with Dearly beloved from Kingdom hearts on the scale of games that I just sit down the let the title screen just take me on an emotional journey, she does such great work.
About two-and-a-half years ago you listened to the song "Somnus" from Final Fantasy XV, which was also composed by Yoko Shimomura. The instrumental version was used at the title theme for the game. Final Fantasy VX was originally announced in 2006 as a spinoff of XIII called Versus XIII. After being delayed many times, news about the game stopped and everyone assumed it was quietly cancelled. In the meantime, Yoko Shimomura contributed music to Xenoblade which released in 2010. Versus XIII was eventually unveiled as VX in 2013 and finally released in 2016, a decade after it was announced. When I first played XV, I remember sitting at the title screen thinking that the main theme sounded a lot like Xenoblade. I then realized that that song (Somnus) was actually composed WAY before that, and used in early trailers for Versus XIII. Ever since coming to this realization, I've concluded that Yoko Shimomura intentionally wrote the Xenoblade theme as a callback because, at that point, she probably assumed that Versus XIII was never going to release.
You say that you don’t hear the more slow and somber xenoblade music a lot compared to it’s more bombastic counterparts, but the funny thing is that I feel these types of tracks make up the bulk of the music in all 3 games. Hope you enjoy xc1, and the rest of the series if you do decide to continue (which I think you will).
The Xenoblade Main Theme is not only an incredibly beautiful song, but it is also kind of a mirror of the game's narrative. No spoilers, but I bet you'll understand what I mean when you finish.
When I started Xenoblade the first time on my Wii in 2012, I was immediately swept away by the main theme. Normally I'd check the options first and then start but this track mesmerized me from the first three notes it played. Sat through the whole song and listened before I startet the game. Has been an incredible experience from start to finish. You won't regret it.
Monolithsoft if one of the biggest names at Nintendo. They have been a huge part in developing some of their best selling franchises like Xenoblade, Zelda, Splatoon, etc. Before they were a part of Nintendo they were with Square and did Xenogears. Then they were with Bandai Namco and made Xenosaga. All 3 series have overarching themes while not being directly related to each other (yet).
XC3 destroyed me emotionally. I watched a playthrough vid the other day of "Noah plays Noah" where the VA of Noah is playing through the game and seeing all of his assembled work. Watched him play through Chapter 5 and it was 2 hours of crying. Kinda want to watch it again.
one of my favorite menu themes for sure, and yes xenoblade is definitly the kinda series whose gonna be enjoyed way much by an adult thinking about storytelling thn a carefree kid just wanting to hit stuff
Literally, my favourite title screen in all of gaming is when this plays. I like xenoblade 2 much more, but this theme and the visuals made me just sit there for 10 whole minutes when playing the game blind.
AHHH WAIT you're actually going to play the game! Oh, you're in for a treat! I've played them all and I think DE is still my favourite out of them all, very excited for you to play it, and I can't wait to watch the VODs
The main theme is so gorgeous. It's worth watching/listening when you encounter it in game. I think a VOD might be best? Just to prevent any chat spoilers, and then you can potentially cut out some of the minor battles.
The main theme was composed by the VGM queen herself, Yoko Shimomura. She composed about 11 tracks for the game I think, they're pretty much all some of the first ones you will hear. It's one of the most effective main themes I've experienced, I just sat and watched the title screen when I played it listening to this, and was amazed and emotional before I even started the game. This is certainly a hell of a ride, this game. The story is really good throughout, early game getting your head around all the combat mechanics it throws at you can get overwhelming but it sinks in and it's a great time exploring and fighting in some of the amazing environments it offers. The latter half of the game felt like a bit of a drag to me, but it all comes together as an overall great game. Have fun playing!
Lemme tell you somethin. I played Nier Automata, then FF7 and FF7R, and finally Xenoblade across 2 months and i gotta say… i put xenoblade as number 1 out of the three. FF7 rebirth made FF7 tie with Xenoblade but before then… Xenoblade was my favorite game And in fact, my favorite thing about xenoblade are the slower songs namely area themes
I originally watched a RUclips channel called Nyancave play through xenoblade chronicles DE and the moment early on made me buy the game and 2. Crazy coincidence, their playthrough synced up literally perfectly with xenoblade announcements, like pyra in smash right at the end of their xb2 playthrough.
I can't believe it. First Donkey Kong, then two Mario songs and now Xenoblade Chronicles? Does Nintendo get more presenceand attention on this channel finaly now? 🤧❤

So I am excited to hear you are planning to play the first game soon. The fanbase is very serious about avoid spoilers which is great. But they are also eager to help if someone has troubles. Always keep that in mind. Loved the video, Jesse. Both excellent and emotional songs.
You can hear Yoko Shimomura very strongly in this. Sora, Roxas, Ventus' theme's similarities but also a bit of Dearly Beloved in the beginning. Not the "exact same" of course, just one of Yoko Shimomura's signature touches.
Congratulations on getting the game(s) ; if you got 2 and 3, Jesse. These games, are soon going to mean everything to you... EVERYTHING. I wish, for you to have fun. And always remember like you said, we Xenoblade community will help you along the way. I'm excited for you.
It's a pretty good game. In my opinion, the story is not as insane as the main 3 games, but the music, gameplay and exploration is just as good for a Xenoblade game. Still worth playing if you decide to pick it up again.
I would highly suggest not streaming it, xenoblade is best experienced with no distractions, maybe get in touch with a mod in your community to pull up a non-spoiler guide just incase you get lost, but that's about it. I also suggest getting a controller for the game, action games feel much better without the joy cons[the inbuilt controllers for the switch]
I'm so happy to watch the reaction and I can't wait to watch you play through the game, I hope you'll have fun and you should definitely do it your way (let's play on YT or livestream). Also, the main theme was composed by Yoko Shimomura, I know that you like her work so I figured I should give that info even though I guess everyone mentioned that already haha
4:26 if you feel this way now, just think about AFTER you beat the game. Getting to know the characters, learning all the twist, and the implications for the future of the series. I felt this way about Xenoblade Chronicles X’s opening too. But that’s half because Sawano Hiroyuki’s compositions do that to me
Welcome to the Xenoblade franchise! All 8 of us welcome you! But in all seriousness this is one of my favorite video game series of all time. I hope you will enjoy the series as much as I do.
I think going out of your way for the side content is a benefit to the game's pacing, so just do whatever you feel like. Plus you don't have to worry about over-leveling from 'em thanks to a cool mechanic you'll learn about.
Jesse you can't just open a video with the Queen's Blood music playing in the BG when I'm 100 hours deep into my rebirth playthrough the way I got mental whiplash!!!
Not a spoiler, but something I wish was conveyed better. With the exception of moving people to colony 6, there are no lockout points until the end of chapter 13. Really been enjoying the game but was really worried about missing content until I just caved and looked up area synopsis’s. Figured I do my part to pass on that bit of information instead of leaving vague hints that don’t mean anything until you actually know what people are talking about.
This is not a spoiler. Here's a recommendation to make the music hit harder. There's an option to have voiced dialogue advance automatically. You should make sure that it does advance automatically. Otherwise the music will keep playing and when you chose to advance the dialogue could be early or late and it can throw off the music cues which do work very well when they're synced. Have a great time with the game! I love it so much!
i remember when you first reacted to counterattack from xenoblade 2, it’s been a couple years now and it’s kinda bitter sweet with how you won’t really be reacting to any xenoblade (DE specifically) after playing it which is the end of an era, and now a new one begins. i’m really looking forward to watching it

Very happy to see you playing xenoblade its one of my favourites!, big up the man Jesse!
You’re about to witness one of the best stories, settings and music in the gaming industry my man. Can’t wait for you to play it!!
I'm so hyped for your playthrough (and for more reactions) 😍
LETSSS GOO ur gonna be playing one of my favorite series, I hope you enjoy it!
The game is an emotional rollercoaster at times. that's all I will say. that pretty much describes every part of the trilogy.
One of my favourite games too. Can't wait for you to play it. I've been thinking about replaying it lately but I'm still deep in Xenoblade X rn
I've had x for 2 years and haven't really had the motivation to play it. How is it?
It's a pretty good game. In my opinion, the story is not as insane as the main 3 games, but the music, gameplay and exploration is just as good for a Xenoblade game.
Still worth playing if you decide to pick it up again.
@@lw62345 definitely a flawed game but super ambitious just like the other xeno games. Best part about it is exploration and the world of Mira.
But that’s half because Sawano Hiroyuki’s compositions do that to me
Can't wait for you to experience this game for the first time
Just subbed to your gaming channel, can't wait to watch you play! Your playstyle will serve you well in Xenoblade, there is tons to explore and do!
Gonna be uploading pretty soon!
yes, another blind playthrough to add to my collection! This is my favourite game of all time so I'm pretty excited
Welcome to the Xenoblade franchise! All 8 of us welcome you! But in all seriousness this is one of my favorite video game series of all time. I hope you will enjoy the series as much as I do.
Xenoblade main theme reminds me of a song called "Forever Rachel" from FFVI. Since you're going to play both games soon, I think you may notice too.
I think going out of your way for the side content is a benefit to the game's pacing, so just do whatever you feel like. Plus you don't have to worry about over-leveling from 'em thanks to a cool mechanic you'll learn about.
I hope you enjoy your time with Xenoblade! It is… such a ride. Looking forward to more XB videos, prepare to have your ears blessed lol
4:25 Truer words have never been spoken
Jesse you can't just open a video with the Queen's Blood music playing in the BG when I'm 100 hours deep into my rebirth playthrough the way I got mental whiplash!!!
This game is full of gems, absolutely love the whole soundtrack. Are your playing with the original OST or the one remade for Definitive Edition?
This.
This is Reyn Time.
"OH YEAH BABY"
I discovered your channel through your react to mechanical rithim!! Nice work!! I hope one day you react to Mechonis Field. For me it's the best. 😊
honestly one of my favorite main themes ever
Hope you really enjoy the game, Jesse! I only recently finished it myself haha
This is my favorite main menu theme ever.
Definitely play it off-stream. It's best experienced without interruptions.
I wish I could comment on this video more but I want you to experience it for yourself have fun
Yooo you're gonna play XC? Hell yeah!
i remember when you first reacted to counterattack from xenoblade 2, it’s been a couple years now and it’s kinda bitter sweet with how you won’t really be reacting to any xenoblade (DE specifically) after playing it which is the end of an era, and now a new one begins. i’m really looking forward to watching it
Looking forward to your playthrough. 1 is one of my favourite games. Finally played 2 last year (which was a bit meh) and am currently playing through 3, which is very good as well
Satorl Marsh (Night). That is all.
I like how one of the few things you "confidently know" is it being an action rpg....because while yeah, you can call it that, it's actually more akin to an mmo!
I would love to see you edit a compilation of your reactions. I know its time consuming but its more digestible than a VOD. Sarahkey does a good job for reference. I will probably skim through the streams but im likely to miss a lot of your reactions
Xenoblade _absolutely_ benefits from 'thorough, but not completionist' playstyles. Looking forward to your playthrough!
There is just nothing better than Xenoblade DE, nothing.
