@@ellieelizabeth5627 Well in that case, since there is no proof and we talk about a man who can't defend himself it might be better to remember him for the things he for a fact did. It's a serious accusation, and whilst we might never know, the burden of proof lies with the person who accuses him, at least that what I think.
@23:58 where Minsky says there is no point to sport is a classic example of how intelligent people can completely miss the point, looking at a situation with a blinkered mindset. The point of sport isn't to clinically evaluate which team is better. Sport is about invoking emotion, it is about causing a rush of endorphins when your team wins. It is about enjoying the spectacle of someone striving to overcome a challenge against the odds. Minsky's mathematical intelligence has robbed him of some emotional intelligence.
@La regadera rosa You forget the reason he made this logical analysis was because he couldn’t be the best at it. Minsky was a true narcissist. If he couldn’t be the best at something, he quit and dismissed it as pointless and worthless.

1:20-2:05 what kind of mentality is that seriously, you do these things because you love them and enjoy doing it, not because some possibility of being the best at it, do you think the greatest scientists did what they did because they wanted to be the best or they simply were insanely passionate about it. As someone who's studying math, its a very humbling experience because there is always someone ahead of you, whether its a classmate, a professor, a fields medalist or one of the greats like Gauss and Euler, you will never be the best, and it does not matter either. Math is collaborative, not a competition.
Some men are compelled by their need to excel. Because of that drive, this guy has accomplished more in his life than most will - that's arguably a far cry better than many who are too paralyzed by one fear or another to actually do anything.
