They listen to tournament players!!?? oh the last time i checked MK was at the bottom of the EVO 2024 list of games, so who exactly are they listening to. Netherrealms are so out of touch it's embarrassing....
It's not about what pros want it's about what sonicfox wants it's like they are forgetting about all other players who love mk universe

Well, they do listen but they can't balance their games to save their lives. Never could. So they ended up making a game for nobody. Should've stayed in their lane and kept making fun party games that you can play with your friends while having a few beers. But the success of MK9 got into Ed Boon's head. With all the tournaments it got he thought he can make serious competitive fighting games now, he didn't understand that all these pro players played MK9 not because it's a great competitive fighting game but because it was super f***Ing fun.

As Maximilian stated in his last video, the problem isn’t the pros, the problem isn’t the kasuals. The problem is the game did not gather new kasuals(the few new players dropped the game faster than ever before). Usually with every game there’s a set of kasuals that that really likes the game and takes it more seriously than most. That set of kasuals are the ones watching online tournaments, following twitch streams, and some even start traveling to tournaments.
The only people playing mk right now are the hardcore mk fans. If you look at tournaments you will see that those people have been playing mk for as long as they have been playing fighting games.
Testers aren’t the problem. Testers aren’t the problem sf6 or tekken.
Capcop tests their games like no other before it even comes out. And it shows on their polished mechanics.
NRS thinks they’re so creative that they decide to reinvent everything, every fucking time.
Plus no has the time to learn new mechanics every time a new game comes out.
There is zero reward for being a mortal combat hardcore fan, whether it be as a kasual or someone that is more into the competitive aspect.
I know that the time I put into tekken will be well rewarded in the future. There will be so many skills and knowledge that will carry on to the next iteration.
I kind of pissed. I been playing since mkx and every game is so different, not different in an improved way. Just different because they want to be different.
It’s a travesty most of the base cast are a bare bone skillset.

Great toolkits plus kameos.
Ermac is a lot of fun and you can use whatever kameo you like.
Compared to subzero or scorpion. Poor scorpion he wasn’t even a complete character on day1.
Plus scorps redesign was stupid. You had a good thing in mkx. A well rounded character that could deal with most situations. Fun to play and fun to watch.
All scorpion has now is a good mid and an annoying spear.
Don’t release a game if you gonna have lame poster boys.

Look at street fighters, both poster boys are well rounded. One of more defensive and the other is more offensive.

In short, NRS stop trying to reinvent the wheel and start building some legacy mechanics.
Mkx is peak netherelm. With the brand new variation and majority of the characters I care about and like playing with the exception of Kung jin and boraicho.
The first three Mortal Kombats you always knew the character's special moves. With only fatalities changing.
How in God's name Netherrealm studios could go and hire someone like Stephanie Brownback to represent Mortal Kombat? Now y'all understand why there's so many gender swapping and all sort of sus business happening in the game... Because Netherrealm have sonic fox and the British twins and they are all lean people because they are not straight.

I think part of what happened is actually MK9 itself ……
For years and years mortal Kombat wasn’t taken seriously as a fighting game. And I don’t think boon liked this. It wasn’t held as prestigious as street fighter or tekken….
Then mk9 dropped and was so good, and the fighting was praised so much that mk was now in all those conversations as a top fighting game. It was also put into those pro tournaments and was overall accepted as a top fighter.
I think boon or whoever is in charge along with him just really liked that and wanted to keep it going. So after that point they probably do listen to the “pros” and bring some of them into the team.
I don’t think MK is for the casuals. I don’t think it’s for the pros either. I think MK is mostly for the hardcore fans of MK. (And also fighting game fans in general) I think that makes up the most significant chunk of people buying and playing the game.
Politics has ruined this franchise
Only thing I don't like is their combo system. They should've kept the Trilogy/Killer Instinct formula.

Facts the game is so irrelevant that a game that came out in like 1997 had more people signed up than MK:Arby's Edition

Yea, some girl in a tournament was getting stomped by Sheeva. I was disappointed when Sheeva got nerf, I main Sheeva in MK 11 for online rank.

The evidence in case if anyone doubt that only pros is a big part of a problem of why MK these days sucks. But we knew this all along even without this proof, didn't we? Because, since MKX I had a feeling that them pros has something to do with where NRS are taking their games. And look what happened. Since MK11 the gameplay became broken and unbalanced.
Some people are noobs they couldn't get the fatal blow to work in mortal kombat 1 they thought it was a controller hardware issue in the game it tells you your opponent has to be at 30% health to do it you press LT+RT together but what the game doesn't tell you is you need to be at 30% health as well some moves are actually wrong in the moves list to
I’ve playing mk since the beginning- I was 7 years old when I first started playing - I’m now 40 years old - this is the first mk I’ve had any negative feelings for and the first mk I stopped playing - I try to play some times but only last a minute before I switch to another game. It’s sad my favorite franchise has fallen so low

If nrs really wanted to make the game great, they could have just made mk1 an improved mkx with more content. These gaming companies are doing the same thing. Can we follow the pattern?
Its about getting your money in exchange for half ass incomplete games. They know you're going to buy the game based on loyalty and marketing. They Do NOT respect the fans anymore believe it or not. Its up to us to force them to make a great game but unfortunately, most sheeple don't think that way.
Facts Fate. The pro player’s or tournaments is not what sells MK, it’s the “kasuals” or your regular MK fan player that plays it for fun and because they are a fan of the MK lore and the characters story backgrounds and what not . The pro players only care about their 50%+ damage combos and practice room and tournament results. We MK fans care about every small detail about MK, the story the characters the skins the gameplay, everything. We MK fans been asking for more game modes like Konquest mode or Mini game modes like Motor Kombat or Single player mode. While pro players mostly just been asking for Crossplay and Practice room because it’s for their online tournaments and little cave of practice combos. Us MK fans or kasuals is what buys most of their stuff that they add in the shop, we looking for the klassic skins and all that good stuff.

They do listen to pros but I think they listen to the casuals more cuz NRS nerfs everything into the ground due to casuals complaining that they keep getting destroyed & arent good at the game. This reminds me of the pro vs casual scene in apex legends. The casuals think the devs only listen to the pros & the pros are like no the devs only listen to the casuals thats why our guns keep getting nerfed 😂
tbf I don't even think the pros like the game. Look at the evo numbers, it's embarrassing. These ppl would rather stream on twitch or make YT vids than go try to win $10k. There's no love for the game from anyone casual and pro alike.

With every game there is a set of kasuals that support the game so much that they watch online tournaments, follow twitch streamers, and even travel to tournaments. Look at players like tweedy that used to travel when there was no prize money but now can’t bother to travel for a 10k tournament.
I’m calling Cap. Many of those pro players don’t even stream live. The only time they stream is when a new character is out so they can showcase their combos. Let’s not Bs with they prefer to stream on twitch than go play for 10K. The pros are minority in MK kommunity in a party game kommunity. If some pros don’t go it’s because their character is water down like Sub-Zero that’s why someone like Sikander doesn’t go to tournaments. Or else he would have enter if Sub-zero was a good mid-tier or with something broken, because Sub-zero without Khameleon his nothing. Plus there’s Egos, pride in the line. They won’t show up to lose because someone like SZ has the least amounts of moves possibly, compared to MK 9 Sub-zero or MK X.

And more people signed up to play Street Fighter 3rd strike, which is a damn near 20 year old game, than they did for MK1. There are people out there who love their game, who are willing to lose money to compete in their game, MK doesn't have those people anymore.
I know it's satisfying to think "o the pros dictate the direction of the game", no they don't. They absolutely do not and they do not have any love for the game or they'd show up at the tournaments.
Go look at Evo numbers, MK1 is in 9th place out of 10... every other game has more competitors signed up for it than MK1, nobody likes this game.
@@xmartinv1xvideogamingtv69 I like FATE but he does not understand fighting games on a technical level. The "they took the brakes off the car" analogy is incredibly flawed and backwards. MK1 is an example of a game w/ the brakes completely on and ramped up x100. The brakes are the problem my guy. Fate knows the game is bad, he knows it's not enjoyable, kudos for that, but he doesn't understand technically why that's the case. The brakes are in full effect, that's the problem.
@@jondiaz3329 Sikander have competed online for MK X and MK 11 for your information. He just haven’t competent in the offline tournaments. In MK 11 online pro tournament he competed against NinjaKiller for example who competed in recent offline tournaments. And also, Mortal Kombat always have less entries than Street fighter, what do you mean. The low entries in Evo it’s not a Kasual issue. It’s not our problem most MK players are just party players, they are there for a good time to have fun, they don’t play it to make it a career. So stop the excuses. They have former pro players working in NRS. 16bit etc. They don’t have kasuals working for NRS. They don’t even reply to kasuals in Twitter! But they do reply and retweet posts from Sonic fox etc.

MK1 sucks because it's not fun to play and it's not fun to watch. The game still feels stiff and the combos are not fun to do and the kameo fighters make things complicated and even more confusing. Streetfighter is a clear example of what it takes to make a game enjoyable to play and watch being played.
