I hate how every franchise and story nowadays is copying MCU and the Infinity war saga like it shows you how creatively bankrupt the whole entertainment industry is now and how they use the tired old multiverse excuse to bring in a lot of mostly unnecessary dumb stuff that makes no sense whatsoever and have a bunch of tokenized swaps. MK1 is done and the whole story is getting worse because it has terrible writers who don't know what they're doing.
MK really needs a competitor besides SF and Tekken. Like a game that's similar but way better and interesting

I deleted MK1 off my PS5 yesterday. With the exception of Noob, Kombat Pack 2 is diaper gravy. That Lin Queef remark was hilarious. 😂
I deleted it last month after playing mk for 16 years, I was going to delete after mk11 being a dumpster fire but I kept hoping mk1 would be good after homelander dropped I knew nothing was saving this game
If a dlc character is the only reason anyone gets hype for the game ( guest or not ) it’s not worth playing, dlc comes second the base game comes first and they havnt delivered on either of those
@@n3cb I feel your pain, I've been a fan of MK since its inception and the direction this franchise has gone in in recent years is appalling. This is the second MK game in a row that I've gotten rid of, tired of the BS. I tolerated a lot with MK1 but Kombat Pack 2 was the last straw. I'm done. If they screw up again with the next MK, I might be done with the franchise all together.
Yeah I've been a huge fan of this series for a long time and have bought every KP/DLC that was released for their previous games. Now I am completely done with this series and the only way I would ever consider getting back in is if they scrap this new era garbage and go back to the simplicity of the OG story but more fleshed out and detailed.
luckily for me this game has been deleted from my PC since last year (Oct). I put in maybe 100hrs but I was just done with the decisions they were making to this game and have no plan to go back.

The story has gone in and out and up its own a55 And so have the aesthetics/mechanics. This reset of the brand was their only chance and they went balls deep up their own a55 again.

Y’all are complaining about the wrong things, sektor and cyrax being DLC is a W. They are different enough to warrant a new story for a new timeline, and their gameplay is new but similar to past appearances. If you wanna hate, hate on the lack of new game modes and the price of the new expansion cuz that is an actual problem.

Totally agree with you FATE. Don't like Noob's hood and green strip on suit. In other MK games Noobs other colour was purple. Dump guest characters and should bring back Jade, Skarlet, and Nightwolf for example.

If there was one character I'd consider it being reasonable and potentially bad ass for it would've been Nightwolf, but something tells me they want to steer clear from that character for some reason.
DLC pack is ass other than Noob, BUT I will say this I do want to play with Conan and I'm sure that he will be the ass end of the DLC Pack. Maybe since this is MK1, this is like a prototype Cyrax and Sektor that get destroyed. Then get rebuilt as male cyborgs in later Mortal Kombats after the Iron Hearts get eviscerated.
The smug girl boss attitude of these gender swaps make me appreciate how ArcSys handled the gender swapping of Testament and Bridget in Strive. Both are now trans characters, but neither one ever makes their gender identity central to their character or gameplay. There are literally zero references to gender in any of the in game voice lines or special move names. If Strive had been a western DEI designed game Bridget would say things like "Traaaansition!!!" instead of "Pedal to Metal!"
