Don’t have any motivation to train today... sees WLH notification, I watch... then I down pre-work and now I’m driving to the gym. My thanks to the best weightlifting news show period!
@@niceguy6152 I was about 120kg BW when I did those numbers, I played football and have a PR squat of 290kg and Bench of 227.5kg so the strength base made the snatch balance easy. I was only doing Olympic lifts 1 day a week until about a month before the 125kg snatch so not as practiced. I had a knee surgery after that and am building back up now
Just adding some history. I recall, the snatch balance was first used by a Canadian weightlifter back in the 60s. His name long escapes me. It then was picked up here in the USA and used by several lifters. Jim Napier (American Record 155 kgs. snatch in the old 181 lbs. class in later 70s) did these on occasion back in the early 70s. Jim also lifted in the 165 lbs. class where I think he held the American Record a time or two. Seems like he snatched 311 lbs., something like that in the lighter weight class. He split and squatted, excelled at both, but I think his records were all squat snatches. Jim would have been one of the earlier Americans to use snatch balances I think. I had never seen it done until I saw him do them in the gym. No doubt, foreign lifters likely used the snatch balances early on though I can't recall any information there.
Just wonderful. was so excited about getting the glen pendlay shoes, then the website won't accept my address in Canada for shipping because of the invalid zipcode error. Can you help out Seb?
The nino snatch i think features some red 5kg plates that look like 2.5s, they're just slightly larger diameter. also I beleive torothkity has done a 250kg wide grip overhead squat, not sure how he got there tho but that would be 125% of the world record in non super class
We have a disagreement! Asics 727 is the best and most beautiful shoe ever built and being in production. Unfortunately it's very difficult to put my hands on them because I wear EUR48.5 (US14) Romaleos, and that would cost me around 450€ for a custom order of the Asics. 😕
I actually totally agree with you there. Just as is the nature of talking without an exact script I say things that aren't quite right. If I could get Asics in my size I'd be thrilled too.
I don't have the money for an American Weightlifting shoe, nor do I train often enough right now to really mandate getting a pair. But i hope those shoes have a long life.
@@JoaoKorreiaa I think they’d last fairly well. The uppers where it looks like it has the Nike flyknit straps for extra tightening was just a decoration when I got them (unsure if they still are or not). The way the Velcro is on the strap means you can’t tighten right down like in other shoes, it’s a bit slacker if you have skinny feet. The sole was of great quality, can’t fault that at all.
@@getstrongby4038 that horrible legislation was passed wth ZERO oversight Pelosi saying "we need to pass this legislation to see what it is in it". My PR snatch is 125kg
My PR snatch balance is 166kg
132.7%
I’m no where near their level but I thought I’d share
That's a strong snatch balance, and decent snatch too!
That's f*cking awesome man!
What bodyweight are you and why do you think you have such a big disparity between those two lifts?

Any time, Zackary! Congrats on the white belt

For those of us who do not have social media accounts your job means a lot. Keep it up!!!
Man, so happy you've managed to get them over here in Europe!
Did I come so early that I outpaced the timestamps? :D
No one wants to come early
@@WeightliftingHouse nice one 👌
Awesome donation to his mum
Excellent idea the time stamps
Order a full size up for the velaasa, folks. I wear 10.5 Adipower 1s and size 11 Velaasa is still very tight.
Love this canal. 👍
Reis is an amazing lifter, and seems like such a good guy too.
Excellent idea the time stamps. Would be great if you did a collab / podcast with Julian from World's Strongest Fan
Yes please, Boady interview would be great!
Immediately copped the new shoes

And Nina Sterckx (BEL, -55F, Youth World Champion 2019) 's incredible month of squat PRs goes unnoticed ?
Aryamnov said he snatch balanced 260kg... either that or like 275... but AT LEAST 260...

We have them in France actually, but free shipping all around Europe. Really pleased with the price!
@@WeightliftingHouse yeah you really can't beat that price, good on you for not taking advantage of the limited availability

how's the quality?

When are we gonna get weightlifting house antas????
You already know I'm trying to find the Anta hook-up
Oh hell yeah!!!
Great job, what happen with lovchev, tell me if you know something about it

Me, a Texan “Oh, can they have pocket knives over there? 🤔 “
Are you not allowed them in some places?

SHOES!!!!
When are we getting weightlifting house stickers???
Do people want those?

It's really sad that they would charge his mother for his medical bills, how do these people sleep at night?
