Whoa I did not see this coming at all, many HIkaru videos have disrespected the London. At the beginning of this one, my hope is that he will Hikaru-ize the opening, transforming it into a powerful weapon for beginner and intermediate players. It's of course very sound reasoning to discourage people from being too dependent on "system" openings, we need to outgrow them eventually. On the other hand, we also need to preserve any good ideas from trying for these positions. If played well, White has set up good chances for a "Greek gift" bishop sac on h7 of course, starting a mating net. Most of your advanced players will not be surprised by this. But, it can for sure help the under-1000s get to a middlegame if they're careful about the vulnerable b2 square. Plus, the beloved BWC is very London-ish, just another rank forward, shutting off a lot of Black's attacking options. So I'm saying not a total loss, yes?

I have a rating of 1500 and After watching this video, my London defense improved soooo much that I don’t panic any more when I see one. Thanks to King Hikaru!

I noticed that when playing hxg3 instead of fxg3. It makes is considerably harder to your opponent to mate you in many positions i've encountered.
