    One of Kamryn’s strengths is that she has retained an awareness of how she thought and envisioned the board at a much earlier stage. Many of the higher level teachers have lost that connection and blaze through with excellent, but hard to follow stratagems. I really appreciate her approach.

    You articulate what I’m going through right now. I was playing my teenager the other day and said, I know the move you made (black) is bad, I just don’t know enough to take advantage of it. So, thank you so much for this video. It’s gold for a 500 player like me. You should make a series called, 500 Chess. And explain things in other openings, just how you did here. Again, thank you!

    I'm glad you mentioned not moving the same piece twice in the opening. This is how I was taught to play many years ago and you are about the only chess channel that I've seen that emphasizes this rule. This fits into the whole idea of tempos, which is another bullet point for beginners. I knew nothing about these concepts when learning the game back in grade school but when I got to high school I had an English teacher who was a 1700 (which was a big deal back then) and he taught me quite a bit about these fundamentals. So thanks for this.

      Most do as it's a principle. Others might not mention it because they go into more detail and include the exceptions if you know an opening well enough that involves this. Probably others don't mention it all the time as they're focused on opening lines.

    Great video and explanations. I really like the London. I'm around 800, and the more I play chess, the more I realize why it's so good. The knight and dark square bishop are so powerful at controlling the e5 square. (with added benefit of the dark square bishop easily moving to g5 protected by the knight if there's an opportunity to attack the queen). The pyramid pawn structure is great and opens up the queen and light square bishop to the queen side, and they can also easily line up on the a4 diagonal against the king.

  • @roytwinberrow7956

    When I used to play the london,I would often leave the white square bishop on F3 let his bishop take and recapture with the E2 pawn you have doubled pawns, but if I castle it's an extra defender or can be pushed as an attacker.I "discovered " this myself and was really pleased when l saw a GM do the same in a game.

I started to realize that my winning percentage was higher as black and it made me realize that I need to improve something, proportionately. • @kenmenpiano
      @kenmenpiano 10 месяцев назад

      @@s1dew1nd3r4 Are you playing on a physical chess board? When setting up the board, the following rules should be followed: white on right (bottom right square should be white) and queen on her color (white queen on white square, black queen on black square). If that is followed, as white, the king will be on the right side of queen. If you're playing black, the king will be on the left of the queen, so the kings will be facing each other, as will the queens. This is just standardizations that's been adopted.

    Really great video. Your phenomenal at finding new interesting video concepts. I have not seen this done before yet its such a great idea and surprisingly instructional.
    I am not a London player and i dislike playing against it. I think Agadmator said he once resigned a game after 2. Bf4. Its not got that bad for me but it does provoke an eye roll.
    Keep up the good work and hope you get to 10k soon.

      What do you dislike about playing against the London? I'm new to chess so would like to learn more.
