In Alberta (where I'm from), you can ride a 49cc moped limited to 70 km/h (45ish Mp/h) with a learner's license at 14. Slow as balls yes, but at 14, it's a hell of a lot better than walking or riding a bike everywhere. I bought one then and am buying an r6 in a few weeks, (I'm coming off mx as well before people jump on it being a 600) and I have to say, they are fucking hilariously fun, them being extremely slow to accelerate forces you to conserve momentum through corners and because they weigh nothing (220ish lbs) and all that weight being a few inches off the ground they handle surprisingly well. According to my infared thermometer, my tires were 130-140 degrees F the other day. You just have to ride them right.
