    I can't thank you enough for the excellent tutorial and your great value cleaning kit (which I purchased from Amazon after using the reference number in your description to search for it).
    My ET2750 doesn't get used very often anyway but this time had been left for about 6 months and when I needed to print something last week there was hardly any ink output. I ran the nozzle check and head cleaning functions from the maintenance menu but this didn't solve the problem, so I went on to run the power clean which resulted in perfect cyan, yellow and magenta but absolutely no black.
    I watched a number of not very good videos about cleaning a blocked print head before I found yours and, because the video was so thorough and easy to follow, I decided to buy your kit rather than one of the cheaper options available. The cleaning process was just as you describe, with the small difference being that the ink cartridges in the ET2750 have a white plastic cover over them that clips in and is then held in place with a single screw. Once that is removed the process is exactly as per your video.
    After the cleaning I ran the nozzle check but got a blank page, I then read some of the other comments here about this problem and your replies to them, so I tried to print some pages of black text but still nothing was coming out. I decided to run the power clean after seeing that this had resolved the issue for someone else with this model of printer and it has done the trick because I now have perfect print quality again! (I was not too concerned about the waste ink issue with the power clean because I know that the printer is not used so much in normal circumstances but other people may not want to do it).
    To anyone who has made it to the end of this long comment and is still wondering if buying the Octopus cleaning kit and following this video is worth trying, let me tell you that the answer is YES!

    Thanks for the great tutorial. I did this with my eco tank 4550 and it worked great. The only thing is you can use a solution of alchol and windex and get started right away. I used a squeeze bottle with a tube attached. Didn't need to wait for anything, just did it. Be prepared to squeeze pretty hard. Also, when done, you'll need to run through the clean print head, missing pixel, head alignment, and any other maintenance from the menu. Be prepared to print a few pages to get all the ink flowing again, too. It took me 2 pages. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Excellent advice. My black ink was clogged. I used the windex and alcohol solution. Dropped a small amount of the solution using the needle of the syringe. Waited 45 minutes and dropped another small amount. Let it dry for 1 hours. Set everything back did a nozzle check. Printed a coupled of pages just to flush the ink. Afterwards did a Power flush and starting printed like new again.

      OctopusConcept That’s probably why it was good. Every word has to be thought out. By the way, I followed your instructions. I used a syringe that came with my ink refills. I used 10 gauge speaker wire clear insulation for the tubing. I just tugged the copper wire out of it. It worked. I will get your product next time though as the tubing did not make a watertight seal. Less than half I think made it through the nozzles so I repeated a few times each and ran a few regular printer cleaning cycles. I started out only being able to see some magenta to being able to see the full color spectrum. Mine was bad. Now it’s back to normal. Thanks.

    On the strength of this excellent tutorial, I bought the Octopus cleaning kit for use on an Epson ET-2750 printer with blocked cyan nozzles. I followed the instructions exactly as in the video, but when after re-assembly I tested the printer with a purging test pattern, the pages came out completely blank. I tried cleaning the heads without effect, then resorted to 'Power Cleaning', which fixed the problem so that all the colours including cyan printed correctly. I suspect that the procedure described can introduce airlocks into the print head, needing 'Power Cleaning' to fix.

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  3 года назад

      Hello Paul, thanks for taking the time and providing this thoughtful feedback ! Does the ET-2750 have a waste ink tank that can be replaced? We are aiming at not filling up the printer´s waste ink compartment when applying our cleaning method. When You suspect that air is trapped inside the ink system You can flush the system with cleaner and try again printing out the cleaner to get the colors back to normal - especially for printer models without an exchangeable waste ink tank this extends the lifespan of the printer.

    I have used this kit now to clean the heads of about 10 Epson L365 from our office and friends. The cleaning is superb, but I prefer to remove the print head from the printer and clean it outside, this assures that there will be no mess inside. And it’s just a few minutes extra work.

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  11 месяцев назад

      Hello Peter, thanks for Your nice feedback! Based on Your experience we consider You as a professional user 🙂 - no wonder You are going the way to take out the print head. Actually this is the most dangerous part for this sensitive component. Users doing the cleaning for the fist time are in danger to do some damage to the print head at this point - that´s why we came along with leaving the print head in and creating a work around to control the cleaning liquid mess...

    Very good work. I have done the process but still no black printing. When I Look at my black cartridge i see little or no ink in it. I tried to pump ink out using a seringue but could not. (with the other colour i managed to pump ink out). It seems that either the cartridge or the plastic tube or the reservoir of ink has a problem. Is there a way of flushing the whole black circuit ? Or to buy individually this circuit ? thank you very much for your help !

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад

      Thanks for Your positive feedback! I assume that Epson does not provide the opportunity to make an individual ink circuit available to You. Actually sad but that´s the situation.
      We are interpreting You description that there is a blocking either in the ink line from the tank to the cartridge or in the cartridge itsself.
      We would recommend to try two different things to narrow down the reason for the problem:
      1.) You can detach the ink line from the cartridge. Then You can test if ink goes from the tank through the ink line. In this setup You can also try to flush the ink line from both sides.
      2.) You can fill up the cartridge manually when the ink line is detached. Then You can see if the cartridge is still printing as long as there is sufficient ink inside.

    Can your kit be used with an Epson ET-5880? Thank you... great video!

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  2 года назад

      Hello Cynthia, thanks for Your question. We are not aware of every details of the ET-5880. But You can check the following to determine if our kits can be used for Your machine:
      Can You access the print area? This is the area where the print head moves from side to side over the paper on which the print is applied.
      Can You access the print head itsself? At the print head carriage You need to check how the conncection between the ink lines to the print head has been set up. Is it the same solution as in our tutorial - using the connecting cartridges? In that case You can use our tutorial as it is.
      When the lines are attached to the print head directly You can clean the print heads´ nozzles from the bottom side. We have good experience about that.
      You use the same setup as in our tutorial - meaning slide some absorbent material with print head cleaner on a piece of plastic foil material under the print head carriage and ket the carriage sit on there for a while. This allows the cleaner to get into the nozzles from the outside.
      Then You move the carriage from side to side over the absorbent material. This rubs of dried in stains.
      After that You can check the results by running some test prints . Not satidfied after these? Just repeat the process.
      We hope that helps a bit!

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  Год назад

      Thanks for contacting us and Your description. You can try flusing the lines, which do not release color yet, with ink directly. Either You take that ink into a syringe from the ink tanks or from the bottle. Then You fill up the lines going to the print head with that ink. In case Your ecotank model has the cartridges sitting in the print head compartment You also have to make sure there are no obstacles inside these cartridges preventing the inks from going through again. Check for air beeing trapped there - especially in the ink port area air can create trouble...

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  2 года назад

      Hello Keekee, thanks for reaching out to us about our cleaning tutorial for the EcoTank series. We do not know how the connection between the ink lines leading from the tanks to the print head section is made at Your model 16600. We know that some models do not have the solution that connection cartridges make the bridge between the ink lines and the printhead compartment (in which the connection cartridges are sitting).
      In the case that You model does not have the connecting cartridges You need to get access to the inlet for the ink from the ink lines into the print head. From the distance we cannot guess how much effort is necessary to dismantle the print head section to have access to the inlets for the ink.
      We hope our description provides some help for You to make Your decision ... otherwise please ask again 🙂

    Thank you - very clear explanation. However living in South Africa, cannot source your print head cleaning equipment or fluid and was wondering how to do this without it. Can I use rubbing alcohol to try and flush the print head? Otherwise what would you suggest? It is the black ink head on my L365 that is not printing properly. It is currently only 1/4 full, so perhaps I can empty it and replace it with alcohol then try cleaning the print heads a few times to get it to flow through - what do you think?

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  3 года назад

      Hello Margot, thanks for reaching out to us about our tutorial and cleaner. Sorry we cannot provide stock in a more reasonable distance to Your place 🙂
      You have the following options to work on You EcoTank:
      1) The inks in Your printer are a waterbased formula - so the rubbing alcohol has no dissolving effect on waterbased inks. It will do no damage but it will also not clean that good.
      2) the cleaner should be waterbased too - You can use purified and demineralized water.
      Our cleaner is in its core based on our base ink formulation (without any colorant ingredients plus some surfacants for improved cleaning)
      3.) To make things more easy You can actually also use the ink (which is already in the tank) for cleaning - it is waterbased. So no need to remove the ink from that tank.
      4.) In a pharmacy they will have a big medical syringe with lue lock connection tip and the also will have a infusion supply line with the coupling matching the syringe´s connector. Try to get such materials.
      5.) Open the black tank and use fabric tape to connect the plastic hose / infusion supply line to the tank and make that connection air tight.
      6.) Move the print head compartment into the middle of the printer´s working area and start to pump carefully with the syringe connected to the plastic hose.
      This presses the ink in the tank towards the print head and through its nozzles.
      You should be able to reach a cleaning effect by this.

    This is a very clear and concise video but it's one glaring shortfall is that you tell people to release the cartridges, to be careful, use your finger, or come up with a way to release, etc. BUT we are blindly pushing and prodding in an area we can't see.....what would have been extremely helpful is to take 10 seconds and show on the removed cartridge what we are trying to achieve, where we have to push, where the release tab is on the cartridge....and THEN we will have a better idea of what we're doing and avoiding damage.

    My printer sat unused fro about 6 months and so Ive cleaned the print
    head with this kit and the actual nozzle heads that go to the paper,
    twice. Even after this i get white sheets of paper, nothing at all seems
    to print. I have also tried siphoning ink from the tanks, through the
    ink cartridges from below, and this draws ink, but when told to print,
    still no colors at all come out. Any ideas?

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  3 года назад +1

      Hello Chase Gray, thanks for reaching out to us about the cleaning kit and describing Your so far not so satisfying results.
      You can send a print job to Your EcoTank and it starts printing - good.
      You have made sure to have inks from the tanks through the tubes into the cartridges reaching to the outlets - excellent 👍🏻.
      You have cleaned each ink channel in the print head compartment - also good.
      Either there is air inside the print head´s ink system which prevents to establish a proper ink flow when starting a print job. Then no ink is reaching the paper and it comes out white.
      Or there is still cleaner liquid inside the print head´s ink system - it takes quite a while to get the remaining cleaner out of the system. We recommend to use old paper and print test prints double sided on this old paper to get out the cleaner and get the colors back to normal.
      To make the print head´s ink syystem free of air You can either flush the print head again with cleaner or You use ink for flushing.
      The ink You use in Your machine is the original Epson ink or an alternative ink comatible for Your EcoTank?

      @@octopusoffice I forgot to write back, but after doing what you suggested and cleaning the machine 3 times in total, I was able to get the printer to work again. It ended up taking about 10 or so "clean the print head" option on the machine to finally print every color. Slowly as I ran paper through and reclicked the cleaning option the colors started to flow again. I really appreciate your assistance and posting this video for people who are stuck! It does seem to be true that multiple cleaning cycles can be needed, especially if your machine sat a long time (mine sat 6 months).

    I tried your suggestions but I don’t have your solution and tried using isopropylic alcohol to clean the black head. The head still makes white strikes no matter how many times I clean the heads. I am sceptic on doing the flushing from the printer menu because it may also do nothing and spare all the ink in the bottles. Is there a way to know if the nozzle is clogged ? Because you say that nozzles could be damaged also. I found that I can buy print head but I see ads for black only and full color, is there a way to replace only black part of the head? I have an L386 printer.

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад

      Hello and thanks for Your question. The used alcohol might be the reason why the cleaning does not have the exprected outcome - the inks used in this printer are water based inks. You need to have a water based cleaner to dissolve cloggings that are from dried in water based inks. Alcohol does not dissolve such blockings.

    Thanks for the detailed video! My Epson ET-14000 was quite similar and your cleaning kit worked fine. This allowed me to exhaust all of the ink that came with the printer (wow, it was a lot of ink!) and now I am planning to switch to invisible UV-fluorescent ink (also from Octopus! ☺), and I want to rinse out the tubes so they are not contaminated with visible ink.
    Is the cleaning fluid appropriate for flushing all the way from the tank through the tubes to the nozzle? You said in another comment that it is just a colorless ink with surfacants. I was thinking of putting a bit of the cleaning fluid in each color tank and printing pages of solid C/M/Y/K until visible ink stops coming out, but then I am wondering if my invisible ink would end up contaminated with colorless ink!
    Any tips would be much appreciated!

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  3 года назад

      Hello Tom, as You say that Your ET-14000 is quite similar to our tutorial - are You able to detach the connection cartridges from the print head compartment? In that case You can extract the standard inks through these cartridges from the tanks and from the tubes at the same time.
      When You have emptied the ink system completely from the ink You can fill the cleaner and work the same way to get out this cleaner again. After that You can fill in the invisible ink into the tanks and flush the ink system with this new ink by extracting air from the connection cartridges - this will suck in the ink from the tanks into the tubes and into the cartridges finally.

    • @TomRathborne
      @TomRathborne 3 года назад

      @@octopusoffice Thanks! I did something like you have suggested and eventually got it working. The connection cartridges do come out, but it was hard to get suction on them, so I pulled through the tubes (and lost some ink in the process) then printed solid color pages until the ink started flowing. I also found that I could "push" from the tank side, since the tanks have a tiny air hole which the syringe hose fits on.

    I've carefully clipped the heads into their compartment (can't push any further).

      Thanks for Your description. Please make sure that there is no air in the tubes leading from the tanks to the cartridges plus ensure that the cartridges are filled with ink properly. Beside that also make sure that there is no air inside the print head - sometimes air is pressed into it during the cleaning process. If You are not sure - just flush with cleaner again. Printing out the cleaner after that - You have already started this - but it may take more prints - we recommend to use already used paper as these test prints do not have a real purpose beside getting the colors back to normal.

    You mention several times that this printer does not have a waist-ink-container. How does the printheadcleaning differ when the printer does have a waist-ink-container?

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  Год назад

      Thanks for Your question. Our printer in the tutorial has a waste ink sponge installed that cannot be exchanged for a new one - when You are cleaning this printer´s nozzles by using the cleaning functionality from the printer´s menu this waste ink sponge is filled up with the waste ink from cleaning. After a certain amount of cleanings this sponge will be full and the printer will give You a message about this. With that status You are not able to print with this printer any more without expensive service by an Epson service person. Our cleaning process avoids the waste ink going into the waste sponge and also avoid the internal counter for the cleaning to count upwards. By our way we extend the printer´s life span.
      When You have a Ecotank printer model with an exchangeable waste ink compartment - good then You can run the installes cleaning and get a new waste ink container when the old one is full.

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  5 лет назад

      Hello John, the cleaning fluid is basically a colorless waterbased ink which has surfacants in it. The inks in these printers are waterbased - so to dissolve dried in inks and clogged nozzles You need to have water to have a dissolving effect. Alcohol will do some cleaning but will not have a dissilving effect on such cloggings. Best to use would be demineralised,purified water if You can get Your hands on such material. Please do not use destilled water as this still contains minerals - the minerals tend to react with the remaining ink materials and You will not be able to get rid off the clogging.

      Hello Else - i just came back from vacation and hope I am not too late as the EcoJets are too expensive to be used for throwing .
      Either there is still cleaner remaining in the black ink system or some air inside there is preventing the proper flow of ink. So please use old paper and start double sided test prints until ink comes back on the paper - that may take more then 30+ prints.
      The air problem might be the case for the colors that You have not cleaned at all - during the cleaning of the black ink line air can have entered these ink ports inside the print head compartment.
      You can also run the printer´s print head cleaning programm a couple of times. This also removes air pockets.

You need one with a little bit more absorbing material. Use a #2 "very light". The newer ones have a plastic wrapper around them. btw there also is a software based head cleaning

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад

      Thanks for Your input. Yes, we are aware of the printer integrated print head cleaning options. With cheaper EcoTank models there is the situation that these models does not come with a replaceable waste ink tank - print head cleaning using the software based cleaning fills up the waste ink section in that printer and shortens the printer´s life span. We thought keeping the printer alive for an extended time might provide some advantage to the user.

      @@octopusoffice After a year, now is the black printhead that is giving me troubles. I've done this process a few times already and still not working. I've done nozzle checks and it seems like something is happening but doesn't clear. It's as if the clog couldn't dissolve completely. The other colors are working beautifully. I want to try as much as I can to save this printer if possible. I like the quality of the prints, don't want to pay for a new printer right now and it's one less printer on the landfill. But unless I remove the printhead and do a visual inspection, I don't know what else to do. Any ideas will be appreciate it.

    My printer (ET L121) stopped printing magenta after printing only 170 pages (since new). Of course, I still have a lot of ink left. It's unbelievable what crap they are doing now... Fortunately, the advanced ink washing available in the maintenance menu helped.

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад

      😊 Epson actually does not want YOU to take out these cartridges - we checked if there is a manageable way for customers to extend the life span of the printer and solve a problem at the same time. The Ecotank series is build by Epson this way ... you could call it an official CIS system ...

    I tried doing this on my Epson L355, but after cleaning, there's still white lines and sometimes even light smears of ink in some letters. How do I solve this? HELP

    • @octopusoffice
      @octopusoffice  4 года назад

      Thanks for Your question about our tutorial. White lines could mean that there are certain nozzles in the nozzle plate still clogged or worse: these nozzles do not work anymore at all. When printing a test pattern do all lines appear on the test correctly?
      When saying there is a smear on some prints - is the smear in the print itsself or is the paper dirty at other areas?
      Are You working with alternative inks or are You using the Epson original inks for this printer? The combination of white lines in the prints plus smear on the paper indicates that there might be a problem for the printer to process the inks properly.

      Thanks for Your question. We do not know how the ink tubes are connected to the print head on the Epson ET4550 - please check if there are similar cartridge bodies sitting in the print head compartment. The it should be possible to remove these cartridge bodies and clean the nozzles as shown in the video.

      Thanks for contacting us about our cleaning tutorial. When applying our method there is a certain amount of cleaner remaining (in some cases also air) in the ink lines and inside the print head. It is necessary to get that cleaner fluid and air out of the system after flushing.
      One way to do it is to run test prints on old paper to "print out" the cleaner fluid plus air - start a 50 to 100 pages double sided print job - this will take quite some time - so check in between if the colors are coming back. When the colors are back to normal You can cancel the print job. When the prints are not back to normal yet - continue to run test prints or also use the print head cleaning function from Your printer´s menu....

      Hey Brian, thanks for watching us through such a long distance of internet cable 👍
      When You would like to apply our suggested way of cleaning to Your printer: You should try to get Your hands on purified and demineralized water - this is an important ingredient of our base formula for our water based inks. Please do not mix up that type of water with destilled water. As destilled water still contains minerals and these tend to react with the remaining ink in the ink system - in the worst case the minerals and the ink bond and build up solid cloggings - inside the print head - worst worst case.

    • @encapsulatio
      @encapsulatio 3 года назад

      @@octopusoffice Distilled water is a type of purified water that has had both contaminants and minerals removed. So I'm not sure what you are talking about.I think you need to do some google searches and see that you are misinformed.

      Hello Nasho, the cleaner fluid must match the ink that is used in Your printer - meaning Your are using normal inks for printing office documents for example - these inks are waterbased. So Your cleaner needs to be waterbased too - alcohol based cleaners do not help in that case. Our cleaner is waterbased and its formula is an colorless ink plus cleaning detergents.
