I just used one of those in my truck canopy/rooftop tent combo. No real fumes or anything, but it was 20*f outside , and it kept the inside of my tent at about 34*, Better than nothing!
@DJMoore-001 yeah you have to be outside to fire them up and let them run for about 5-10 min. until the flames burn down and it starts to glow, you def. have to have a small draft like a window partly un zipped to get fresh air or it can kill you. we have ran them in the tents growing up when we went camping
@tomleach8227 although the 513 here will put off some heat, I think it is still a little under power at just 3000 - 5000 btu, you would have to be sitting right on top of it. They do however make its big brother 515 that is 5000 - 8000 btu and I think that one would be the ticket the reason I say this is we have a 10x12 wall tent and we have used the Mr. Big Buddy heaters on low at 6000 btu and could not tell we had it on, then we cranked it up to med setting 9000 btu and it kept the tent nice and warm.

@drewpkutz was it the 3000 BTU, 5000 BTU, or the 8000 BTU one, you would think it would have done better then that
Those are pretty nice, I think my mom still has a couple of them. Not sure I would fire iy up in a wall tent, That could get a little Western.

that would be great for ice fishing in a shanty with the windows cracked

@tomleach8227 I dont know I have the 513A you can look to see if it says 3000-5000, high - low then yes it would be adjustable
